Ralph and Cynthia were a delight to work with. They listened to our ideas, brought their own vision, and worked with us every step of the way to make the final result even better than we had envisioned it. It was a tough job because they had to bring all the materials into our backyard by wheelbarrow, as we didn't want to destroy our garden. They were amazing, absolutely tireless. Our grandchildren watched with fascination and were always delighted when Ralph and Cynthia stopped to talk to them. Their final design was artistic and well-engineered, and has added immeasurably our backyard. We can't wait to enjoy it next year. We would totally recommend Tough Oaks for your landscaping and stone project. We felt that we got excellent value for our money, and they are lovely, honest people.

The final results of the entrance, walkways and plantings were aesthetically pleasing, giving the home instant curb appeal. It appears that no matter how large or small the work, Ralph is ready to access a problem and offer suggestions. In my case, Ralph took the time to to repair a section of my flagstone retaining wall with the same care and precision given to larger projects. In addition, his wife Cynthia was often seen working by Ralph's side. The young family make a good team!

Recently used Lakeside Tree Experts and they did an outstanding job. Received great customer…read moreservice from owner Scott who returned my email within the hour. Scott was very careful and thoughtful about which trees needed to be removed and patiently answered my questions. His quote was slightly higher than the other 2, but I got the impression they were worth it, and they were. It was obvious that Scott wasn't interested in clear cutting but was dedicated to providing solutions to keep our current trees healthy. I cannot stress how important it is to get this kind of work done right. You can't just buy 40 foot trees. Owner Scott was professional and patient to show me which trees were dying and which trees could thrive. His team were friendly, efficient, skilled and went above and beyond (spoke to my neighbour about the work that was about to happen along the property line and friendly to other neighbours who interacted with them). Owner Scott did a walk about after the work was done to ensure I was happy. I would highly recommend Lakeside Tree Service. These guys know what they're doing and they do it really well. Looking forward to using them again and again.

Our 50' white ash was severely damaged as a result of the recent ice storm…read more It was hanging over our and our neighbour's roofs. We needed it taken down quickly and professionally. After getting quotes from several companies we chose Toby's because of their positive reviews, the fact that they were willing to email a copy of their insurance and the fact that the gentleman who did the initial inspection and quotation took the time to answer our questions. Toby's was not the cheapest quote we got but we had a feeling that they would do a good job, not cut corners and be safe in their work practices. We were correct on all counts! Their 'climber' showed up early on God agreed upon day, assessed the job to be done and then planned out the job with the rest of the crew when they arrived. Toby and his wife also showed up to supervise the job. Allowing for an unforseen problem with their wood chipper, the job was done, yard cleaned up and trunks taken away well within the time quoted. I highly recommend Toby's Tree Service. Peter

This was a straight forward job- clear 5 meter from any pole that hydro is erecting- nothing on the job site changed- we didn't add trees and more trees didn't grow over night. Very clear instructions and map provided by hydro. We in good faith paid them another 4 000 because they refused to finish the job without further payment. Hydro came and inspected and the job was still incomplete. They said they would return in the morning to finish the job and never showed. They are crooks and I would never recommend them to anyone. They will lie right to your face and clearly do not have a clue how to honestly quote a job.

I would NOT recommend Young Guns Driveway Sealing and Lawn Aeration…read more I was told the workers would be at my home at 3pm... he didn't arrive until 7pm, nor did anyone call to say he was running late. I paid upon the agreement that the cracks would be filled the the driveway would be cleaned and then sealed. The worker did not blow the dirt off the driveway before he began- he sealed over a lot of loose sand and dirt and rocks- so that when I blew the driveway off a few days later, a lot of light spots appeared underneath these loose objects. There was a spot where grass is growing out of a crack- he didn't fill these cracks, he simply sealed over the grass and the crack! One of the worker's friends came by while he was working on my driveway- and he gave his friend a lesson/turn with the spray sealer. I spoke to someone on the phone about the poor job that had been done, and I got a talk about how expensive asphalt is and that they charge by the crack to fill... so if I wanted them to fix the sub-par job, they would, but they would have to charge me to do so. My biggest issue with the Young Guns team, is they have a salesman knocking on doors to get the sales and then they have a labourer come out to do the job-- but he doesn't deliver on what the salesman promised. I requested an experienced person come to take a look at the job to see if they would deem it adequate... no one ever came by.
