I took my daughter to see Dr. Caputo for evaluation of joint pain. From a technical standpoint, I have no concerns with Dr. Caputo's clinical knowledge or medical skills. Unfortunately, the interpersonal aspect of the visit was deeply disappointing. Throughout the appointment, Dr. Caputo was consistently condescending and belittling toward my daughter. During discussions about medication dosing, she made multiple comments that amounted to weight shaming--on three separate occasions--which were unnecessary and hurtful. The impact of this interaction was significant. My daughter left the appointment visibly upset and felt so uncomfortable that she does not want to return for follow‑up care or proceed with the recommended treatment plan. This experience showed a serious lack of professionalism, empathy, and respect for a patient, especially an adolescent who is at a highly impressionable age. My wife had told me how ridiculously long the wait would be (even by doctor's standards). We were sat in the room for 45 minutes (after a 30 minute initial wait), with zero interaction from staff. No one said, "the doctor will be in shortly." I actually thought maybe we were supposed leave after the X Rays. I was irritated with the wait, but it got "better". My daughter wears a brace, and it has been recommended that she wear it for 18 hours a day. The doctor asks if she is wearing it to school, and my daughter says no. Then she proceeds to tell me 4 different times how important it is to "get the hours in". Making assumptions about our morning and afternoon routine. We have a 5 minute drive to and from school, and she's in school for 6 hours. From other reviews it looks like she's one of the only options in the area. I would rather sit in my car, in traffic for an hour and a half, and have a 20-30 minute wait, than wait 2 hours for a 5 minute condescending opinion from a doctor who makes assumptions. read more

Our family is so blessed to have the pleasure of being a patient to Dr. Caputo. She came HIGHLY recommended by at least 10 moms on a Facebook moms group that I am a part of. My daughter had broken her arm on a Saturday, broke her Radius and Ulna, we did the whole ER and then obviously needed an orthopedic surgeon to put a cast on. I sent an email online through their amazing appointment booking site. Literally at 8:02am their office called me Monday telling me to come right in to see Dr. Caputo. I was blown away! (The two other offices I called/emailed after the incident didn't call me till Thursday that week- horrible!) We arrive on Monday morning and the staff was so pleasant in the front. We were called back before I even completed the first sheet of paperwork. (No wait at a doctors, what?!?) The nurse was very friendly and spoke directly to my daughter, which is major bonus points in my book. Dr. Caputo came in and was the sweetest. She talked directly to my daughter, eye level, sweet voice, explained everything so my daughter could understand. It was wonderful. She got to choose her favorite color for her cast, which obviously my daughter thought was the coolest. You can tell Dr Caputo loves her job and is damn good at it. She thoroughly explained everything to my husband and I. We made our follow up appointment and was on our way. After our check up the bone had "drifted" and would need a reduction (aka re-break to straighten the bone out). We did this in the office. Dr Caputo was so kind and gentle. Again explaining everything in detail to my daughter and empathizing with her when it was hurting. She got to do a "candy cane" cast, of red with white stripes since it's Christmas time. So fun!!! Then again at another follow up we receive more bad news that the bone continued to drift and as a team we decide to schedule a surgery to place a pin. Within 2 days we are at Los Robles Hospital for the surgery. (Yep that's how quick she got us in!) At the hospital she continues to show her amazing ability, empathy, and treat my daughter so well. She has the best bedside manner I've ever experienced (and trust me we've had our fair share of doctors and specialists experiences). Dr Caputo continued to make my husband and I feel secure and safe with the next step for our daughters care. After the surgery she comes out and explains how everything went well and shared the X-rays to show the pin placement. Explained the next steps and continued care. She even offered for us to come in for a follow up the day after Christmas when she's "on vacation." Well, lucky us, another bump in the road for our little one and she's spiked a fever. Dr Caputo gave us her personal cell and continues to follow up with us to ensure our daughter is doing okay. She always remains calm and informative. She eases our nerves and is just overall outstanding. Our journey isn't over yet but I know with our daughter in Dr Caputo's care, she will be just fine. The Children's orthopedist is knowledgeable, patient and attentive to their younger patients. The quality of care is good. Never felt that we were not attended to properly including the medical assistants who aided in care including the x-ray technicians. The office staff are always friendly and helpful. The only occasional drawback is that the wait can be on the longer end to be seen and called into the exam rooms for care. I have come to Dr. Caputo for 2 out of 3 of my kiddos now! My 2 yr old daughter broke her leg and we were referred to Dr Caputo by our pediatrician. She was calming to us in this unnerving situation and even made me feel less crazy 2 days later when she had to get a new cast because hers had accidentally got wet around her toes. There were times where we had to wait a long time but in their line of work sometimes it is out of their control. My son fell off the monkey bars at school and broke his wrist, instead of going to the er/ urgent care I called the office directly and the receptionist told us to come in and she'd fit us in at the end of the day. We had to wait but I was so grateful to not be sitting in an er waiting room. When Dr Caputo was in the room with us she was always engaging with our kids and trying to help them understand everything she was doing and asking them. I would give negative stars if possible. We had the most terrible experience with this doctor. She definitely has the god complex you hear about with a tiny percentage of doctors. She may be good at handling a 6 year old's basic fractured arm, but steer clear if its anything more than a basic fracture. This doctor really needs to learn that she is not god and she does have limitations. She needs to be honest with her patients, herself and the practice she works at and be a good doctor by referring patients with moderate to major injuries to specialists that are experienced with those types of injuries. She used my son as a Guinea pig when it was so far beyond her capabilities. What should have been a maximum 12 week recovery from the injury and surgery turned into a full year of absolute hell, searching for specialists that could fix what she set wrong. Four surgeries to correct her mistakes and we finally were able to see our son walk again. It was an absolute nightmare for our family. Never ever will we, or anyone I have an opportunity to talk to, let Kimberly Caputo near anyone we know, even if she is the only one on call in the ER. read more

The WORST OFFICE . Went for our first appointment confirmed every thing by text. Sent our card in advance received confirmation in writing of receipt. Arrived early to handle paperwork for our 10:30 appt at 11 pm someone SCREAMED at the whole waiting room "Dr. Caputo is an hour behind we have no other details." At this point they had already charged my copay to my credit card. I went to the front to confirm that an hour behind meant we would be seen at 11:30 instead of 10:30 and was told coldly that NO it's an hour from now. Dr Caputo and her staff saved my son's arm. My son broke his arm skating. I took him to the emergency room at the hospital. The x-rays did not show any signs of complications and they told us to go see Dr Caputo for a cast in a couple of days when it's not so swollen. When Dr Caputo started to work on my son's arm she saw something was wrong with the shape of his arm and decided to take more X-rays. The bones moved in a way where he needed surgery immediately! She recommended a great surgeon who took our insurance and went out of her way to call this one. So I want to thank Dr Caputo for the accurate diagnostic and care her office gave to my son. Dr. Caputo is a fine doctor. No complaints with her as a doctor. But if you want to see Dr. Caputo make sure to free up an entire day. You WILL be spending the day at her office. Appointment times don't mean anything. Your schedule doesn't matter to them. After spending hours in the office, if you decide to complain, they will simply respond that you have the option to reschedule. I would run far away from this provider. read more

UPDATE: Decided to reschedule my son's appointment. We met with Dr. Caputo today. She saw us right away within minutes of our arrival. She spent time evaluating my son and was very thorough. Also very sweet. I'm glad we got a chance to revisit this office. Worst experience. Made an appt. for my 20mo old. Appt time was 10:45. We were put in a room for 40 minutes without anyone checking in on us. I asked the staff what was going on and they said the doctor still had 3 patients ahead of us! Saw Dr. Caputo yesterday for my daughters thumb which she hurt at dance. We really thought it was broken. Got an appointment very quickly with Dr. Caputo. She was very professor and nice. Didn't rush us but didn't need to because she knew exactly what to say and do. Turned out to be a very bad sprain but not a break. I had a terrible experience bringing my daughter here. Right from the start Dr. Caputo entered brash and unfriendly. She reviewed x rays and said my daughter needed a cast for her humerus. My daughter was scared and upset. As I was talking to my daughter to calm her down. The dr started insulting my parenting and belittling me. I had never been spoken to that way by a dr and became emotional. I ended up telling her that we were leaving and stormed out. We were referred to another dr who was so friendly and kind. She had a X-ray machine in her office and turned out my daughter didn't need a cast since the fracture was higher than the cast would be. read more
