Had to go to the Fashion Show mall yesterday to do some returns. My mom and I stopped by Dr Fish Spa. I've had this done before but it was her first time. The shop was very clean and the lady running the shop was so polite and made sure my mom was okay while we were there which I really appreciated. If you have not tried this before you should. Yelp gives you $15.00 off of you check-in. It feels like the fish are kissing your feet. The fish don't have teeth. Next time I will do it for 30 minutes instead of 15 minutes. My feet are so soft. 5 stars for the really nice women who took care of me and my husband (I believe her name was Shamia. Forgive me if my spelling is incorrect) Shamia was informative, attentive and very kind. We had a fish spa and an ionic foot bath. I took a star off for the ionic foot bath. Supposedly the water changes due to the ionic charge pulling impurities/toxins from your body. However, my husband and I both noticed the ionic charger placed In the water was spewing rust colored water. I found it difficult to believe the color change in the water was from reactions to my own body, and more so from the machine itself. The 'kissing' of the fish tickles and made me giggle quite a bit. I would go back for the customer service, and the fish and skip the ionic foot bath. read more

It was worth an experience. Staff is friendly. Not very clean to me as they don't replace the water after each person. Which I get as that can be exhausting. But still, gross. They spritz water on your feet then wipe prior to putting your feet in. My opinion does not make any difference. The cost of it is way overpriced of $65 for 30 minutes. Thankfully, Yelp has a $15 off of a 30 min service. Still very overpriced. The experience was cool. It tickled at first but got used to it. I'd been wanting to try a fish pedicure but my friends weren't interested. I stopped in on my last day in Vegas. I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee. She was able to get my pedicure started pretty quickly and was great about making me feel pampered, engaging in conversation and taking great care of me. -Located inside the Fashion Show Mall (upstairs). -There's a Groupon but if you just mention it, they will match the price. -They accept walk-ins. -Make sure you don't have any open cuts/blisters on your feet when you go. Definitely a unique experience. Supposedly the fish eat the dead skin from your feet. The worker told us that this is a myth and that they just nibble to stimulate massage and encourage circulation. I don't know if they just want to downplay the actual "eating of skin" since it's associated with animal cruelty (one of the main criticisms of fish pedicures asserts that the fish must be starved to prompt them to eat the dead skin). They definitely nibble on your feet so if there is dead skin, I'm sure it'll come off. If they are starved, it's certainly problematic from an ethical perspective. A few states have actually banned fish pedicures, mainly due to the possibility of infection (since you can't sanitize the fish and it's impractical to clean the tank between customers). That being said, the CDC website states: "CDC is not aware of any published reports on illnesses resulting from fish pedicures. Nail salon foot baths, however, have caused outbreaks of nontuberculous mycobacterial infections that left infected pedicure customers with boils and scars." There's a story circulated by Peta where a woman had to have her toes amputated after visiting a fish spa in Thailand. It appears likely that this was an issue of improper spa hygiene related to that particular business. I wouldn't worry too much about it but do ensure you don't have any open cuts/blisters on your feet (to protect yourself and others). The spa is so strange. Aside from the fish tanks, there's a virtual reality station. Talk about an odd combo. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. It tickled at first but I grew to appreciate the feeling. Please do research on fish spas before coming here. The biggest issue is animal cruelty. These fish are starved to the point where they eat the dead skin off your feet for sustenance. If you don't care about the fish, hopefully you'll care about your health. Tanks aren't cleaned in between customers because it would be too difficult and time consuming to do so. If previous customers have foot fungus or other infections, you're soaking your feet in the same water that they have (not to mention fish waste). There's a reason why these fish spas are banned in several states. I wouldn't go here if I were you. read more

As you are led to your station, your feet are wiped down to remove any debris before placing them both in the water. During the course of your session, the Garra fish softly remove dead skin, and other impurities in your skin. Once completed your feet are gently wiped dry for you to put your shoes back on. Cool 'bucket list' experience but I don't need to do this again. Primarily because of the atmosphere / vibe. There were 3-4 people working (4 at one point, I believe one left) and minimal customers at the time, but no one really seemed to care when the phone rang, so we got to listen to it ring several times before the girls would stop conversing with each other to answer it. If we weren't listening to the phone ring, we were listening to Ariana Grande on repeat - literally, the playlist was 98% Ariana Grande (including AG Christmas music, in September). None of the staff were watching the timers for customers so us and another couple were in there much longer than we anticipated. There was one woman there who I believe was in charge, she seemed much more professional than the girls - my only negative with her was that, if she is in charge, the girls shouldn't be acting so lax and unprofessional. It just seemed more like a place for the staff to hangout than a place of business. The stools aren't very cushy, and your back is up against the wall. 'Don't lean on this, or put your feet here, it'll break' - I get it, but when you think you're going to get a fish pedicure, it just sounds so fancy, and then in reality, the atmosphere, staff, and facility itself just comes across... cheap. My feet did feel better than when I went in but it costs more money than a traditional pedicure and my feet didn't look/feel as nice afterwards. If the vibe in here was more professional / high end, or if the end result was better, I could possibly justify a return visit but with neither being great, this was a one and done deal for us.
