Horrible with kids. Like they don't want to deal with them. Then with adults they suck as well. My wife got a cavity filled and they told her she would just have to bare the pain when she was getting the tooth drilled because they didn't put enough local. Then we left and she still felt discomfort ever since with the same tooth. Then we go back to have them finish the job and they charge us for it saying they filled the cavity but not the surface. They tried to give us medicated tooth paste when we didn't want to pay. Never coming back again. Had 4 more cavities to fill and going to pay cash money somewhere else. Have been going to Dr Dental on Potranco for awhile. Took my niece yesterday for a cleaning and had a small chipped tooth. When she came out from the back I asked what did they say about the chip. She replied nothing. Only the hygienist seen me. I asked the front desk why did the dentist not see her I was told he looked at the X-rays. I responded that's not the same as looking in her mouth and addressing the chip. I would like to speak to the dentist, Oh he left after looking at the X-ray. How about a manager, they are not here. I will be back in the morning. Seems they are billing the insurance for dental visits which include seeing the dentist but the dentist is not seeing the patients. FRAUD!! read more

I NEVER EVER leave reviews but they earned this star. Really is should be zero stars, to be frank. This place is HORRIBLE!! 2years ago was the 1st time I've ever been told I have a cavity. So of course, I have them work on me since they were the ones to find it. After the work is done, I return 4wks later because a STILL a fridge temperature beverage would STILL send a sharp-shooting pain on the tooth they worked on. The talk to the dental hygienist and he tells me -- "Well what have you been eating on that side of your mouth?" I said, "Excuse me. Nothing. That shouldn't matter, I followed post care." He says, "Well you can come in for an adjustment, you're lucky because I should charge you an extra $150." I said, "No, sir, you're incorrect, you're supposed to adjust it 4-6wks out or if it's botched work." Long story short I go in not one more time but 2 more times, each time 4-6wks apart, to get adjusted. STILL TIL THIS DAY my tooth has NEVER BEEN THE SAME. I have thought about just having it pulled out and regret ever letting them touch me!!!!! I feel like I would've had a better chance just leaving the cavity there and untouched -- because before they even told me I had a cavity, I didn't feel sensitivity or pain to that tooth at all. Beware, we went to the dentist because our last dentist stop taking Delta dental insurance. so I called around to local dentist's in the area and Dr dental said they would take our insurance. Upon arrival we had to fill out the forms for insurance and had our exams and cleanings. the office is very dated and they seemed unorganized. they stated that the manager was on maternity leave but our paperwork was good! we left thinking we may need to find another place to go! The very next day they called us and said that they did not take our insurance and that we would have to pay for treatments we received! it is unorganized and not a good experience Beware!! Have a drink before probing to ease the nerves! Well it has been awhile since I last wrote on Yelp but I felt compelled to give a two, very enthusiastic thumbs up to Dr. Dental. My search for a new dentist came about last April when I was transported into some Medieval French dungeon and worked upon for 3 hours, while awake, by a hapless descendent of the Marquis de Sade! You know people, we simply do not discuss our wisdom teeth extractions deep enough with each other beforehand and, although I was prepared for pain and discomfort afterwards, I was not aware that I should have been knocked out and left in the deft hands of an Oral Surgeon. This part of the discussion had alas, been omitted! Cest la vie! No matter, I survived and having found Dr. Dental I am all the more wiser for it. As my grandmother always used to say, "Get out of those beans!" Dr. Dental has a sleek modernly decorated lobby in black and white with plasma screens, game consoles and a soothing waterwall. I half expected my dentist to show up in skinny jeans, shades and a blaring Ipod. As you cozy up to the counter you may notice the Happy Hour menu that offers a relaxing beverage of your choice, including beer and wine. Yes, you read that correctly; you can relax with a complimentary glass of wine before having your gums prodded. When you are called upon to sit in one of the comfy reclining chairs in the back, you can stare up at the plasma screen on the ceiling of your room and watch a channel of your choice. "this joint is luxurous." After my x-rays and exam I was presented with a pricing sheet that also met with my approval as it appears to be the most competitive, out of pocket pricing I've ever experienced. Either that or my insurance has become more generous and giving. Ha! I couldn't write that with a strait face! I've been going to dr dental for over a year and I haven't been truly impressed with their service. Today was probably one of the most frustrating visits EVER and I JUST went in for a cleaning. First, let me start with the pros, (I don't want to be ALL negative.) 1. I got my teeth cleaned and have access to a dentist. 2. The dentist and hygienist were polite and kind. 3. I usually never have problems making appointments. That being said here are the cons from today and previous visits. 1. Out of a courtesy they have a fridge and coffee maker which has never been stocked (at least on the last few times I've gone.) I know they don't have to provide these things but if you're not going to, please put away your coffee station and fridge because that looks tacky. 2. I got called to a room, then told to wait back in the lobby. Then called back to a different room then Switched to another AGAIN. 3. They did my polishing first before cleaning my teeth. 99% of the time it's been X-rays, cleaning then Polishing and Dentist comes for a final check. Today it was wait in chair, back in lobby, come back to another chair, xrays, then switch rooms for polishing, then dentist telling me I have cavities and asked hygienist to take pics which I declined because I'd been there over an hour, then cleaning. During this time I cannot count how many times people walked in and out and in and out and in and out of my room. It gave me this rushed, chaotic, unorganized feel and by the end I couldn't WAIT TO LEAVE. 4. My spouse also had work done and did not have a pleasant experience. Too much to go into detail here! Finally, As someone who works in the healthcare field and understands patient care and service, I will NOT be going back. This was my final visit. read more

My daughter as well as other children have been with Dr Dental fir two years now and it feels like we are living out our prison sentence as due to the braves we are stuck there. They only see patients with braces one day out of the month and on several occasions they are full. Their phone is always disconnected so you can't make an appointment. I also had work done and have been in more pain after I had my injury fixed than before. I would not recommend Dr Dental, any location to my worst enemy! read more

I went here for a checkup and need to go back for further dental work. The place is very hi tech and hip with the alcoholic beverages and flat screen tvs above you while they take care of your teeth, which is neat but was a bit over the top for me. I don't need all that, I just want to get in and get out with clean, white teeth! The staff is polite and helpful, and they offer some specials like scheduling your appt during certain months so try can waive your patient fee portions (aside from your deductible). Speaking of which, I need to call and schedule for August! Follow up after follow up for placement of my permanent has been canceled with varying excuses from the dentist wanting to take a last minute day off to the lab not having anything done. Me and my wife went here for a cleaning. My wife wasn't given eye protection during the cleaning and had stuff flying into her eyes, the technician was also extremely distracted during the cleaning. After our cleaning was over we found out that they had already called a oral surgeon to schedule us for wisdom teeth removal without consulting us at all. We also weren't offered any beverages while waiting in the lobby despite another couple in the lobby being offered wine. The staff was unprofessional and we will not be coming back read more

This dental practice has major integrity issues. The folks from the owner Dr. Sagar on down to the office manager, someone called Myra are virtually nonexistent. I'm surprised no one has ever thought to report them to the state board. I referred a friend her for treatment and things did not seem right from jump. Alcoholic beverages? Anesthesia? With the cleaning I was drenched with water because the hose wasn't connected right? She left me like that and did'nt even offer a towel. When I went this past weekend for a cleaning they had over 10 patients scheduled at the same time as me and the doctor reeked of alcohol while he was examining me and they left me waiting forever! I had such high hopes based on the friendly receptionists here in San Antonio, but things went downhill from there. At my cleaning the girl managed to get toothpaste in my hair and up my nose! It wasn't super hygienic when the girl who was doing my x-rays put down the mouth piece on a set of drawers and then tried to put it back in my mouth. The other thing I didn't care for was that the cleansing took about a quarter of the time I had my teeth cleaned at other dental offices. I went to Alamo Ranch Dental to get a second opinion, and they told me I didn't have any cavities! Dr. Dental was going to charge me $135! They were also horrible at cleaning my teeth! I recently attended a consultation in Nov/2016 for braces. The consultation lasted 10 minutes and it was determined that I would need them for 24 months without any X-rays or examination of my teeth. I'm not an oral hygienist but I'm sure you have to go through an examination process. Upon the completion of my appointment, I was informed that they couldn't verify my insurance information although I had provided 3 times prior to the appointment. So, I was told nothing was due and they will contact me and a week once verification was completed. After a week and a half I called, to get the insurance quote for the consultation and nothing still had been verified. I ended up having to call my insurance company myself and provide them with the information to get an estimate of how much everything would cost me. I was uneasy at this point and didn't have much faith in their practice. However, I scheduled a cleaning for my teeth to see if it was just a misunderstanding since I was a new patient. Dec/2016 I went in for a cleaning which took 20 minutes. I had to inform them that X-rays needed to be taken because they had none on file. Once they were completed, I was escorted to a room with no privacy to wait. The doctor came in looked in my mouth less than 5 mins and said everything looks good. I'm just going to polish and send you home. Well from experience a cleaning includes evaluation of the gums, teeth, a flossing/rinse along with a consultation of preventive care and an assessment of what needs to be addressed. I was unpleased with the service that I contacted my insurance provider and submitted a claim because I didn't receive any goods or services in my opinion. Also, Jan/2017 I contacted them to cancel all remaining appointments I had with them and to request that my file be transferred back to my dentist prior to attending their establishment. However, of course they have no records of me or any appointments. Figures right. I guess everything is rocket science to them. I would gem them a zero if I could. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I will continue to see my original provider I've been going to for 3 years and pay the out of network fees versus paying for crapy service from undereducated individuals. Overall. I wasn't comfortable with my experience. First off. When getting my x-rays . The tech took the bitewing out of my mouth and set it on a dirty table with no cloth. Then another tech took the bitewing and when tech 1 went to retrieve it tech 2 had taken to go be cleaned. Tech1 then went a obtained it from Tech 2 so they could reuse it on me. WTF! Second...i showed up for appointment at 9 am on Saturday. They were still closed. One of the techs let me in said they couldn't help me cause the office staff hadn't got there yet. So getting to the dentist chair at 930 for a 9 am appointment. The Hygienist, laughable, set me down and said it would be a bit longer that they were not ready. So 15 minutes later they arrive to do my fillings. Third, i am laying there while the dentist rubs a numbing agent on my gums. I asked her how many she had planned to fill? She responded 3 on top. I knew the original dentist whom cleaned my teeth said they wanted to fix a bad filling. When i asked the new dentist she didn't know anything about it. Then said oh ok well we can can go ahead and fix it then. I was a little concerned. But pushed on. Then i asked for gas. The Hygienist asked for a mask and was attempting to put it in the holder and the dentist and Hygienist were arguing on how to put it in the holder with the Hygienist eventually winning out. So on to the filling. The "Dr" was attempting to numb me. While the Hygienist attempted to suck all the reminiscent saliva out of the back of my throat by jabbing at my tonsils like a bad prison shanking. At this point i was so uncomfortable and nervous about everything that had been going on. I couldn't handle it anymore. I had to leave. I told the Hygienist i was not comfortable and had to go. I told them i would pay for my visit to which they declined. I was looking for somewhere for my while family to go. But this will not be it. I will find a place where it doesn't feel like fast food dentistry. read more

I needed a dentist for my four children's first dental visit, and found Dr. Dental on the search. They offer a two-tiered in-house insurance plan that is less expensive than the one my husband's insurance offers, so we were able to get all four children covered for a year. If you pay for a year up front, there's a 10% discount, saving additional money. The office staff are friendly and welcoming. They offer sugar-free drinks, including wine or beer, in their lobby during the wait. They were extra-patient with my four children (ages 8 months to 6 years). There is a Wii/X-box for the children to play with, but unfortunately my children (who don't play video games) were unable to figure out how to play while we were there. The x-ray technician was very patient with my 3 older children, and used every means to get the best x-rays of their teeth. She showed them their x-rays, pointing out where their adult teeth were ready to break through. In the office, a flat screen TV on the ceiling distracts the patient during cleanings/procedures. They technician turned it to SpongeBob and my kiddos were delighted. At the end of their visit, they were each given "goodie bags" with character toothbrushes, floss and toothpaste. Dr. Dental states on their website that they don't do amalgam fillings. I'm not sure how common those still are, but that's one thing I was looking for in a dentist. I'm pleased about that. I gave four stars, because even with purchasing their insurance plan, four cavities are very pricey to fill, and we are having to break it up over 2 months. I'm very pleased I found this office! What could have been an extremely unpleasant experience with four small children was a fun learning experience and adventure. My 3yo daughter is even looking forward to going back to the dentist to get her cavities filled! read more

It's unfortunate that this office has gone down hill since it is so conveniently located for me. I've been coming to the Potranco office for routine cleanings and crowns for about 3 years, but I'm afraid this was my last visit. I may be a demanding customer and patient, but here are the things that need improvement: the two young men at the reception were dressed as if they were at a sporting event--baseball caps and all-- not professional at all; rug in the waiting area dirty, not 1 day dirty, 1 week dirty; only 2 magazines on the waiting area table (these are just the aesthetics of the place); hygienist didn't place a bib on me to prevent splattering my shirt until I asked for it; cleaning took less than 30 minutes and was very rushed and incomplete (I still have stains on my teeth that previous hygienist had been able to remove)...this was by far the worst cleaning I've had. I'll be looking for another dentist. read more

Well long story short myself and my three kids went to get our regular cleaning when we got to the office I said all four of us are here she said ok but only called two of us then 2+ hours later said oh I didn't know the other two kids were with you since they have a different last name. During my cleaning I saw the empliments where wet inside the package which means they have not been sterilized but I thought maybe I'm just being paranoid.... Well I wasn't just being paranoid I ended up getting a bad infection from the dirty tools they used on me, I'm currently taking 4 antibiotics a day plus pain pills due to this. Not to mention my daughter got a big blister in her mouth probably also from dirty tools. Every time my daughter has gotten a cleaning she ends up getting blisters in her mouth but I didn't put 2 and 2 together until now. I went to their website and used the Chat window to find out if they offered the services i needed and were contracted with my dental insurance. the lady on the chat was nice. of course she was, she took my phone number and email presumably so the office could contact me about an appointment, which they didn't call about until almost 7 hours later (I already found another dentist and had an appointment by that point). Not even 10 minutes after the chat ended I started getting phone call saying I have "WON" some BS or another....great, they gave my phone number to some telemarketers, FANTASTIC! Let me start with my ONLY two point five complaints so that I can end on a good note because my overall impression was good. First, I waited a whole heck of a long time both visits. Second, on neither of my two visits was I offered any sort of drink. I'm talking everyone else in the waiting room was offered something except me. It's not like I'm walking around San Antonio reeking of booze hauling around a box of wine sitting atop my enlarged liver. It just made me feel a tid bit un-welcomed. I mean not even a water for heaven's sake. Now to my point five, it made me a bit uncomfortable that while I waited to be seen, mouth parched after having anticipated through this site my complimentary drink, some of the folks were all flaunting their drink and acting a bit rowdy taking selfies of themselves drinking wine. How ANNOYING, I wanted a wine selfie! Aside from these few distractions, the staff was surprisingly knowledgeable and the dental assistant was just about the sweetest think you could ever imagine. They really take the time to ensure you are comfortable, understand what they find and feel at ease as much as they can. I had like a bazillion cavities and the Dr was quick to show me where they were and what they looked like. (I had never had a dentist do that). Being a bit of a skeptical, I quickly googled cavities on my phone and sure as heck, looked just like what he was showing me. The front office redeemed themselves with me when they came in with a proposed patient responsibility statement prior to the services and showed me exactly what I would be expected to be responsible for. (Printed on a nice piece of paper too!) Now onto the procedure. I was like terrified! All those needles, drilling...uggg! To my shock, I was honestly quite painless. I mean this doc should be called gentle hands or something. He and the assistant were very attentive and reassuring throughout the procedure. This corporation as a whole is the most unprofessional establishment I've ever seen. My boyfriend and I are both retired military. Now that we're out, we needed to find a dentist. He chose the Potranco location because it was close to the house. At first, he thought it was great so, I recommended it to my daughter. That was the worst mistake I've ever made. Using my Tricare, Delta Dental Plan she got Invisalign. We paid the uncovered balance ($2K) in full. They were great the first visit. Guess they had to in order to get our business and money. They ordered her molds and she got her first set of trays and that is where the greatness stopped. When she had to go back for her next set of trays, they tell her dentist is on vacation, then the excuse is he's out of town. Finally someone tells her he quit. I have to at some point get involved because they are giving her the run around and no one at the Potranco office seems to like to answer their phones, and they can't find her trays. She's 21 and I guess they think they can just give her the run around. After one call from me, the Potranco office tells me her trays were sent to the Stone Oak location. I then call the Stone Oak location and ask to speak to a supervisor. The lady I spoke to was very nice, and tells me the address labels were wrong, and my daughter's trays were returned. Not sure how this happened. She tells me they are reordering her trays and my daughter isn't the only on this happened to. I can only assume this is the truth. Her trays get ordered, but in order to get her trays she has to see a dentist. They scramble to find someone. At some point she starts going to Stone Oak. The dentist out there was great. My daughter's getting close to her last sets of trays, but her top teeth aren't turning. The dentist in Stone Oak tells her the first dentist in Potranco didn't file her teeth correctly. She files them some but they trays still aren't fitting. In fact my daughter's newest set of trays are hurting and don't fit. They are loose. My daughter calls last week to, and at first they tell her to make them fit. She was scheduled to have an appointment this week with her dentist, but what trying to see if she could get in sooner. This is when they tell her that her dentist has relocated to Lytle. My daughter asks when they were going to tell her since she has an appointment the following week. They tell her they expected her to drive to Lytle. I told my daughter we didn't contract based on a dentist, but by business and location. I'm furious. This isn't the way to do business, and if Dr. Dental is having trouble keeping dentists, they need to find her one locally. The supervisor tells her they have to 'get approval' to move her. Then they tell her that her dentist will be at the Potranco location this past Saturday and book her an appointment. A day later they call and say no, she'll be out of town. We've heard this excuse before. In 24 hours they now realize this dentist is not available after they told my daughter she would be and booked her an appointment. They finally book her an appointment at the Marbach office, her third location. Her appointment is at 9 am. She gets there early, and no one is there. The staff doesn't start pouring in until around 9. Like someone else stated, if you book an appointment at 9, then you need to be there early to be ready for your 9 am appointment. Time is money, and they get paid for their time, so why they think our time is invaluable is beyond me. Fortunately, this time, she got to see an orthodontist, who essentially tells her the first dentist didn't address the problems with her teeth. What about the second one. She didn't notice it either. She's essentially starting over, when she was supposed to be almost finished. As an consumer I would tell you to RUN, and go elsewhere with your money. read more

I went to the Dr. DENTAL office in Lytle Texas it ended up being a bad experience the staff was friendly , but seen the dentist for a toothache next thing I know he's wanting to pull my tooth, everytime I've been to a dentist the give you antibiotics maybe some pain meds and you come back in a week or two then pull the tooth, not there in Lytle office, they pull your tooth take your money while the Novacain still working and shove you out the door with a prescription for antibiotics and Tylenol 3's, I don't know what went wrong but this has been one of the most painful experience in my 50yrs of life I told them that the Tylenol 3's weren't working and the called me in some Ultram I called in the third time they just kept saying they were sorry so I canceled any other appointments, I don't know, could be infection, maybe Dry Socket, I don't know but the one thing I'm sure of is they don't care it's been 5 days I've felt the pain spread to my eye ear and down my neck even, the dentist back home would have gave you a call back to see how you were doing, Not in Lytle !!! I read the reviews and they seem cheery picked , even the chat girl Debbie was oh so sorry and ended our chat session, don't do it they might be good at teeth cleaning but if you or going to have work done you'd better decuss your pain management strategy with them, because once you leave the dentist he will have No !!! compassion at all and will leave you hurting, and they won't care read more

Dr. Dental worst establishment I have ever received services at. Dr. Alena Mehtani is the worst dentist I've ever received services from. Not only did she not do my dental work correctly the first time I went back to have it corrected and she did it wrong the second time. Causing me to have to pay triple fees and go to completely different dentist to correct their dental work. The customer service and ethical practices of Dr. Dental are the worst. I made formal complaints with their business offices and got nowhere. Not only that I had a dentist from Dr. Dental Dr. Danielle Lotze bill me and she NEVER even treated me. I have filed complaints with the dental board and my insurance company. Do not go to this dentist! It may look fancy but looks are deceiving. I had a crown redone on tooth #19 about a year ago at the Potranco location by Dr.Espinosa. I had a crown already on it from having a root canal done on that tooth when I was fifteen years old. I am in my late twenties now. Apparently, my crown wasn't a right fit for my tooth and the color was off compared to my other teeth. I was told that I needed a new crown for my tooth and I went ahead and had it done a couple of days later. It seemed fine until it completely broke off months later. I had heard of crowns falling off but never that soon. I went back to see Dr. Espinosa and apparently he had used the old build up and just put a crown on the tooth with that build up. I guess it wasn't as sturdy and caused the crown to completely brake off. He did put a brand new crown at no charge on my tooth therefore, I was satisfied that I didn't have to pay again for a crown (by the way I had no insurance at the time). But the gums around the tooth got very irritated and it was to the point where I couldn't floss cause it hurt so much. It was only around that tooth that it did that. I decided not to go back to Dr.Dental and went to another dentist office. They ended up telling me that the crown was not a good fit and showed me the X-ray that showed big margins. It looked like a big gap between my crown and tooth. The dentist said what was happening was the gums were migrating in between the gaps and it was causing sensitivity. She said the crown did not fit my tooth and I needed to get a better fitting crown. I just got my new crown a week ago and it feels way better. I can actually floss. No bleeding. Everything feels better just not my wallet. I had to pay again for my crown to get redone and it just really makes me upset. I do not recommend this office and regret ever going here. read more

this is the worst Dental office I've ever been too ,a simple dental visit turned into a 6 hour visit . after all the damage nothing was none still have the impacted tooth turns out I had a infection don't know why the dentist didn't notice right away , I'm done with my meds . now just looking for a dentist that knows what their doing . The office looks like a mini club u got staff standing around , apparently u can have family visit you while on the job . I wouldn't recommend this dental to my worst enemy. read more
