We bought fruit, pastries, home made lemonade and chocolates. Of course we ate them all up! Prices weren't cheap however, we are just visiting so I have nothing to compare them to. Every business was very helpful and didn't rush us. Definitely a go to spot when you are visiting Vancouver!

Granville Island Public Market is one of those classic Vancouver experiences that pretty much…read moreeveryone tells you to do--and now I get why. The market sits on Granville Island, which used to be an industrial area before being transformed in the 1970s into a cultural and food hub. Getting there is part of the fun: you can take a quick water taxi across False Creek, drive, or grab a regular taxi. We went the easy route and arrived by car, but I'd love to try the water bus next time for the full experience. We got there later in the evening on a Sunday, so they closed early and time was limited. Before I even stepped inside, I spotted a vendor making maple candy--the kind that is poured onto ice and rolled up o to a stick. Highly recommend giving this very Canadian treat a try! Inside, it's exactly what you hope for: a lively space packed with vendors--produce, baked goods, prepared foods, local specialties. I had a short must-try list, starting with Lee's Donuts, Siegel's Bagels, and a hunt for Nanaimo bars, the iconic no-bake Canadian dessert named after the city of Nanaimo in British Columbia. Even with little time, it was fun weaving through the stalls and admiring all the products. Since we were visiting during the holidays, there were extra vendors selling arts, crafts, and locally made sweets, which made the whole place feel even more festive. We picked up bottles of maple syrup to bring home as gifts and also tried a few canelés. After we enjoyed our dinner, I stepped outside and took a moment to soak in the view--city lights reflecting on the water, the bridge glowing in the distance, everything calm and picturesque. It was a quiet contrast to the busy market inside and ended the visit on a really peaceful note. Definitely take in the view if you have a minute! Even though we didn't have as much time as I would have liked, it was still a great experience. Granville Island Public Market absolutely lives up to its "must-do" reputation.

When searching for high quality in meats, many know about this place... except it seems like me,…read moreuntil just recently. So not wanting to go off to Coquitlam, when I usually go to the big box Korean supermarkets to get good slabs of pork I decided to use the good ol' trusty Yelp app, and somehow this one popped up, also it popped up on the famous google, and many people raved about this place. I knew where this place was, but would not think a second to come here, well that changed in a heart beat after stepping into the joint, the meats are all put out, nice, frozen, well cut, well displayed, and if you want that right thick cut of pork belly (sorry... this isn't for a Chinese cooking thing) and you know you need that Korean cut (you know what I'm talking about) this is the place you come. The sign on the outside made me feel I was back in the pandemic period, but it is understandable as the place (for customer's) is small, so if you are going in, you must make sure that the people in the store are already paying, or you must stand outside. On a few occasions we have had to wait while others were getting their goods, and we have bought their nicely cut (skin off) pork belly, and thinly cut slices of beef for hot pot. The plaza usually has parking as they have a few spots marked for this store. The prices are reasonable, and the meat quality is great, so now this has become my go-to place for meats when I need that right cut.

The pastries are delicious and crafted so beautifully. I came here for hot chocolate festival and the flavours were spot on. A tad sweet but it's hot chocolate. I also tried their limited time sticky rice croissant which had all the umami flavours one could want! Texture of the croissant was crunchy, butter and full of flavour. Sadly, the sticky rice texture mixed with croissant was not the best. The service here is great. Staff are friendly. The only downside to this store is the way their line up system works. They have 2 store areas, connected by the till. It's a bit hard to pass through when there are people waiting in line to pay, waiting on line to order, etc. Just a bit of awkward spacing

It's always busy but today it looked quiet at random so stumbled in. So glad i finally decided to. Cozy cute cafe where you can study and bring your labtop/ introvert friendly or quick catchup with the girls / cute coffee date etc ... The cafe is currently participating in the hot chocolate festival too but i ordered a matcha latte along with a cruffin apple cheesecake and ooo it was so delicious and bouncy airy. The center had fresh bits of apple and there was a creamy cream cheese filling and you get this texture that's a combo of crossiant and muffin .. if you love apple or even caramel etc i think it would really suit your pallette. I will order some pastries to go next time when i have more time. Staff is super friendly and patient. They handled the loads of questions i had. Super clean place too. Free parking upfront and there's parking downstairs too.
