I HIGHLY recommend this office for oral surgery care. One of the best dental experiences I've ever had. This office takes COVID protocol seriously and I've never felt more safe in a medical environ. Also, the staff is kind and reassuring every step of the way from consultation to payment. My dentist referred me to this office as a few of my teeth were too difficult to remove in-office. After calling and filling out my pre-op questionnaire online, surgery day was just as simple. As a matter of fact, I had to RE-schedule because my blood pressure was a little high and Dr. Smith wanted to me safe and for me to be healthy as possible under anesthesia. He even gave me a prescription for Ativan to take on surgery day help me relax. And post-op? I got sent home with a pint of Homeland Creamery ice cream to help with the swelling in a tasty, fun way! I love that they share a local product with patients. I chose to return to have 2 more teeth extracted and the same care and attention will Mahe me recommend this office time and time again. read more

Is my insurance in network? Their response - YES. I book the appointment and I was given my estimate. A week before the appointment they give a price that is DOUBLE their original price now telling me that my insurance is out of network. I call my insurance to find out why they would give Amy incorrect estimates for my wisdom teeth extraction. They tell me that they would Never give an in network price to an out of network oral surgeon. I asked Amy where she thinks I would magically get this money after I specifically pushed out my appointment by 2 months so I would not go into debt for this surgery. Her response: I don't know. WHERE DID THEY GET MY ESTIMATE FROM???? After my initial consult with the doctor, I was happy with this office. I felt relaxed and confident that I would not deal with any problems. The doctor was kind and quite reassuring. However, I was lied to from the women that were working the front desk who clearly told me my insurance was in network. After speaking to Amy, I was absolutely flabbergasted by the crap that this office pulled. She told me "MOST PEOPLE ARE OUT OF NETWORK FOR OUR OFFICE." Please keep this in mind when booking your appointment - MOST PEOPLE ARE OUT OF NETWORK FOR THIS OFFICE. I was also shocked that I wasn't going to be prescribed medication until AFTER my surgery. I don't have anyone to run around and pick up medications for me and I was told to JUST TAKE IBUPROFEN and if I needed medication AFTER the surgery, I can request medication and go pick it up after the surgery. You know, WHILE I'm still recovering.... This office not only wasted my time but also my money. They had no problem taking my money for the appointment and I had to fight with them to return part of the exam fee that my insurance paid them - which was 44$ They said they would apply it to my future appointment. And I said NO. I will not book a future appointment with them. WHY? Why would I book an appointment with an out of network oral surgeon?? My insurance covers 50% for in network dental work. I am truly disgusted with the LIES I was fed by this office. I was offered a 15% discount for my troubles but also declined this offer because again, why would I pay dental insurance and then pay MORE for an out of network oral surgeon? No. Just No. I lost complete trust with the doctor after this. He knows exactly how his office operates. I do not understand why people cannot do their jobs. I am so sick of have to pay the high cost of medical care and then be expected to do the job for apparently everyone in the office too. Just out of curiosity, who was supposed to perform the surgery? Me? With a pair of pliers while the doctor supervises? Amy also reminded me that her job was "OUT OF COURTESY." I'm sorry, but no. If you cannot do your job, that is not a courtesy. Don't you dare call it a courtesy. I paid for your service and you didn't even do your job. To spring an additional 1000$ on someone out of the blue one week before their surgery - when I booked the appointment TWO MONTHS IN ADVANCE - is not a great way to do business. I am fortunate that they require you to pay a week before the surgery because I don't know what would have happened if I found this out the day of or even after. I have never yelled at someone with so much anger over the phone before. You are literally dealing with people's pain and finances and absolutely taking advantage OF those who cannot put off appointments. SHAME ON YOU!! Thanks for wasting my time, money and trust in oral surgeons. Also, for anyone wondering WHY this office has so many 5 star reviews on google.... It's because they send out and email after your initial consultation asking you to review THE CONSULTATION. If I would have known that - I would have NEVER booked this appointment. Husband had his wisdom teeth out here today. They were very professional, on time, and everything went very smoothly and relatively pain-free. My only complaint is that there is no wifi for those of us required to wait on-site, but there is *one* wired connection that was in high demand for laptop users. read more

Dr. Smith is very competent and I think did a good job of removing both my teen-aged daughters' wisdom teeth. The reason for the low-star review is because of his poor post-op instructions. He told us (and this was confirmed by the nurse who called to check on us the next day), that they could eat soft food 24 hours after the surgery. Bad idea. It needed to be totally blended food or liquids like smoothies. Both my girls had significant pain for an entire week after surgery. Five days after surgery I took them both to the on-call oral surgeon because of increasing and significant pain not relieved by the narcotic pain medicine, ibuprofen, or cold or hot packs. The on-call oral surgeon, Dr. Jason Ringeman, cleaned out the sockets, some of which were full of food that had lodged there. When I told him that we had been told they could eat soft food after 24 hours, he seemed surprised. I asked what he told his patients and he said he advised blended food for at least 5 days after surgery! How much pain our girls could have been spared. Also Dr. Ringeman gave both our girls special syringes with crooked tips so they could rinse out their own sockets to keep them free of debris (something he routinely does at his one-week post-op check-up). The girls did better after seeing him and following his advice. He also was very kind and helpful. One other criticism of Dr. Smith: when Dr. Smith entered the room to see my daughter, while he introduced himself to my daughter and explained things nicely to her, I might as well have been on a different planet. He never once spoke to me or made eye contact. When he did this again a few days later with my other daughter, I spoke up and introduced myself. He actually spoke to me and looked briefly at me. Although I would give him a 1 star because of his disrespect of me, I would give him 2-3 stars for his bedside manner since he was quite nice to my daughters. He also apparently spoke to them and treated them well during the surgery. They both opted to only have local anesthesia and were fully awake for their procedures. The next time we need an oral surgeon, we will not be calling Dr. Smith but will go to Dr. Ringeman, who, by the way, is an MD as well as being a DDS. He has great credentials and I suspect my daughters would have benefitted greatly from his good post-op instructions. I wish we had known about Dr. Ringeman before. . . read more

They do good dental work but lie and coerce people into accepting conscious sedation for work that could easily have been performed with other less dangerous drugs like nitrous oxide. They use a drug called Versed(along with nubaine and phenergan), which can cause long term memory problems and post traumatic stress syndrome. Dentists love it because makes patients totally compliant and unable to move, although technically awake, but often unable to recall anything at all. Google versedbusters.blogspot.com and see for yourself. This drug was once discontinued by the original maker because of problems but has been brought back generically by crooked drug companies. It is also used in colonoscopies because they can rush you through it fast (you cannot move but will feel pain) instead of slow and safe like it should be done. Dr. Smith's office will NEVER tell you they use this drug unless you make a fuss about it. They think YOU do not have the right to know. Oh, and the $361.00 they charge for the drugs doesn't hurt them either. read more
