However, my experience is that they do great work at very reasonable prices. They are certainly not cheep but you can depend on them to stand behind what they do. Most importantly they do not foist unneeded repairs on their customers. This is a full service auto repair shop. Not just oil and filter changes. One example: I have a reasonably high end car that the turn signal lights kept burning out due to a design defect. The dealership charges hundreds of dollars to replace a $5.00 light bulb because they said the bumper had to be removed. When I took it to Express Oil, I watched them take out a bolt, loosen another then reach down and replace the bolt. What was almost a thousand dollars and a day at the dealership was a matter of minutes and $15.00 at Express Oil.

Fearing the worst and not wanting her to drive back to VA, I sent her to this auto repair shop. I applaud their honesty as I sit several hundred miles away. THANKS!

If you are looking for a mechanic, avoid this one at all cost!!…read more I had appointment with HTek in February 2026 for a regular oil change and to get my AC cabin filter changed. The mechanic recommended an upsell for a $250.72 Air conditioning Test (which showed no leaks), $63.14 for the Cabin Filter Service, and $206.93 for the Premium Cooling System Service. My mileage was at 74490. Since I have used them in previous years, I decided to trust them. Fast forward, and I try using my AC only to find that the first three settings on my fan no longer work. Zero air comes out on setting 1, 2, and 3. It will only emit air when on the highest setting. Prior to this "service," my fan worked perfectly. I tried submitting a contact form about this, but did not receive a response. I scheduled an appointment today with them to check the fan to see if something was just not put back correctly, and low and behold there is suddenly a leak that will cost an addition $980 just for the parts! Even though I have driven my car less than 1000 miles (my current mileage is 75241) since the appointment. They didn't even look at my fan, even though that was what I brought my car in for. Edit: I had another local mechanic take a look at my car. They confirmed that there was NO leak and replaced the fan on my car for $182 total. HTek is a total joke - save your money and go somewhere else instead!

We've known Shane for a little over five (5) years with him servicing every single one of our vehicles -- a Jeep TJ, 2 VW Jettas, a Chevy Traverse, a Ford F-350 and 2 Dodge Ram 1500s. He has NEVER steered us wrong -- and he and Joe do excellent work! Case in Point: Our son's 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 started smoking, which we thought was simply valve stem seals. (It's a common issue ...) Joe took a deeper look; ran compression tests; bore-scoped the cylinders; etc. And, in the end, we determined that it was badly worn compression rings, as well as a tired engine. But, rather than go back into debt on a new truck or waste money on this old, tired engine, the guys set us up with a replacement engine -- and stayed within our budget. This "new" engine purrs like a kitten with an unlimited mileage / one year warranty that covers all parts and labor. There aren't too many shops around here that will still undertake such "mechanic-ing," but THESE guys are true to the trade!
