My house had badly needed siding as it was the original siding and was over 36 years old. It had become punky and was deteriorating and was pointless to keep painting it. I decided to go with vinyl siding so that the chore of painting would be a thing of the past. After vetting several local contractors we decided on Doyle Siding. Ken Doyle came to my house assessed what it would take to redo my entire house and gave me a price that came under the other contractors. I felt satisfied with that. Once work began he and his crew were at my house every day bright and early. Even on the hottest of days they were there. I watched them work and saw that the work was done carefully and meticulously. They tore off all of my old rotted siding and discovered underneath damaged plywood from water infiltration over the years. They removed all of the damaged plywood and replaced them with new plywood. They then Tyveked the whole house taking care to tape the seams as they went along. I was impressed with the way they restored my dormers and how they neatly trimmed the siding on those difficult angles.All of my gutters and downspouts were replaced with new ones. It was a clean look when finished, and he even put gutter guards in for me so I don't have to get up there and clean the leaves out in the Fall. I had also asked that all of my windows and doors be replaced which they did. They used Simonton windows which I had never heard of at the time but would come to find out later by reading my Consumer Reports magazine that they are the number one rated windows and were Low E and argon filled giving them a favorable Energy Star rating. The French Door & Sliding Door were also Energy Star rated. When the job was completed I saw a total transformation of my home. My owners pride that had been slowly diminishing over the years had once again returned. My neighbors would comment how nice it looked when they strolled by. I would highly recommend Doyle Siding. We couldn't be happier with the work done on our house. You can hear the pride in Ken's voice when he shows you the work he's done. He treated our house as if it was his own. He even updated our soffits because he thought they would look better, and he was right. Ken works hard all day long, but always has the time to talk to you or answer questions. Ken is very particular, every angle and cut is perfect. He is exactly the type of person you want to be working on your house. We also need some electrical and carpentry work done. We had our gutters and downspouts replaced by Doyle Siding & Roofing in the fall of 2018 and also had gutter guards installed. The quality of the workmanship was generally good, but there were lots of aggravations along the way and the cost was high. Among the aggravations: there were nail holes left in the siding from where the old downspouts had been which were not filled; there was also a section of rotten wood that was hidden behind the old downspout that was not mentioned even though I specifically asked them to keep an eye out for any rot; I gathered a bucket full of nails, wood pieces and other debris after the job was finished and cleanup supposedly done; when I got up on the roof after they were done, I noticed that they hadn't installed gutter guards to cover all the gutters - there was a 3-foot section missing because they apparently miscalculated and didn't bother to tell me. Afterwards they came back to install the last 3 feet of gutter guard, but never dealt with the nail holes or section of wood rot. All of this was annoying, but months later I discovered that the gutter guards they installed don't keep out maple seedlings. My gutters and downspouts were clogged with the seedlings and I ended up spending an hour this week cleaning them out (same thing last spring). Back in 2018 I thought the $900 we spent on gutter guards was too high after seeing what they installed, but now I question what value we even got for that money. I posted a message on Doyle Siding & Roofing's website with my complaints and contact information more than a year ago and never received a response. I also posted this same basic review on Yelp a year ago - don't know why it disappeared. read more
