What's more concerning is that I was told that because I reviewed and signed the return, they are not responsible for assisting further. This is unrealistic...clients rely on professionals for their expertise, especially for complex areas like depreciation, which are not easily understood or verified without specialized knowledge. They subsequently filed an amendment, but I was unable to recover the full amount from the IRS and state tax authority. Additionally, they assured me that no automatic payments had been set up. This proved to be false--a quarter later, my account was overdrawn due to automatic withdrawals they had failed to disclose. Throughout this process, they have continued to send emails soliciting further engagement and payment reminders, and their communication has been notably unprofessional.
