When I attempted to cancel, I was unable to do so because I couldn't log in to my member portal. I contacted the gym many times to try to go through the proper procedure and, after many weeks, finally figured out why I couldn't: they had mis-spelled my name (hence why the log-in didn't work). In spite of trying to cancel for many weeks, they tried to charge me two months of additional fees and an annual fee (literally less than a month after I joined). The manager was incredibly condescending, refused to help straighten it out, and caused me hours of endless time wasting and strife when the entire reason for joining was to clear my head while caring for my sick mother. The worst part? When I cancelled the card they were charging to avoid further payments, they somehow managed to charge my debit card, which I can only guess they had on file from the year before when I was in town to care for my mother. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau since all efforts to resolve the matter with the quite rude manager failed.

The owner and gym staff were welcoming and helpful making me feel at home in no time. I have limited use of my left arm so I wanted to use weight machines that would strengthen my arm and increase my arm mobility. The owner Cody was quick to show me some great weight machines to build my arm strength. It was great and exactly what I was aiming for. The gym is clean and the equipment is well maintained. Its not the biggest gym in Aiken but it has all the exercise and weight machines that one could. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone and everyone who has fitness goals. Big or small this gym is a place to meet your goals and the welcoming staff will help you get there.

(I couldn't Check In today). Their staff is very friendly and helpful and their prices are great (I got in the introductory deal for a sweet $20 month, unlimited access). They are working on adding classes, yoga, aerobics, etc. to their schedule - they have a few now but not all in good times for people who work. Still, they are trying. The background - my old gym was in the same location, Club Fitness. Gold's Gym moved in to town and shut them down with money, so there hasn't been many choices in Aiken if you are a guy for years. Achieve just opened in the same spot offering a similar mix of weights, machines, classes without the 'muscle head' stigma. I like it!

That is the main reason why I joined. I will not tell anybody else to join Acheive because of this. Right now I am disappointed in the classes. They only have two good Zumba instructors now. That is not good at all!!! The staff is nice and friendly, and the fitness center is always kept clean. They need to work on class schedule and not have so many classess cancel. And yes there are other classes available, I only enjoy Zumba classes right now. Me and my friends all do, and we are very upset when they are cancel!!! Please try to work on this problem Soon!!!!

I said how seeing im paying max amount. He didnt want to explain it and let other customers hear he was trying to rip me off. He said he has said this to me before multiple times which is a lie. Only conversation we had prior was one conversation about lowering monthly cost since I only use the weights. And I dont use the classes. He refused to answer my question. Got an attitude and cancelled my membership. All because I asked to use a feature I was already paying for. The GM Mitch needs to reconsider this guy as a sales rep cause he just lost the gym stable income over a question Of a paying customer wanting to use a feature they already paid for.

Ultimately, the card I used for recurring payments was stolen (elsewhere) and had to be replaced. As a result, the payments were disrupted, but the gym (now rebranded as FitLife) continued to charge the monthly fee for three months even though I didn't use the facility in that time and then sent the account to a collection agency. The upshot: Beware of recurring payments that you authorize, and pay close attention to terms and conditions. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend FitLife.
