Great location (corner of Davie and Burrard), plethora of healthcare services and full of hot men. Seriously. My Practitioners are all hot! Dr. Raminder Badyal is a chiropractor that dresses unnervingly well. He's quick (witted) yet thorough. The appointments are longer than I was used to with my previous chiropractor in Kits and I feel like the care I'm getting is superior. He hooks my back up to this electo-pulse thingy with a heating pad for about 10 minutes before I get my adjustment. It's like you drift off into a warm, buzzing daze... by the time he comes back to adjust you you are putty in his hands! Sometimes I even get a little massage before I get cracked. Just a little bit of heaven... Dr. Aaron VanGaver is my Naturopathic Doctor in this office. Young, hot, inked and knows his #%@^! You'd be a fool to pre-judge based on the tattoos (if you can even see them) . He is down-to-earth, caring, genuine and asks relevant questions about your health. I adore his acupuncture treatments (I'm a sucker for crystals and aromatherapy so he incorporates those in). I know a few other people who see him and they also rave about him. He tailors the session to you and your needs--no cookie cutter treatment/sessions here. Last, but certainly not least: Justin Adam Smith, my Registered Massage Therapist. I am a Bodywork Practitioner so I'm very particular about my massages. This guy is the one for me! Funny, charming, svelte, and hot, hot, hottie. Based on his build, you'll be floored by his strength. He pinpoints areas of tension that are so deep you didn't know they existed. I have always had great treatments from him but my best ones are when I ask him to work a specific area and he totally wows me with his techniques. I had him work my wrist once, it had been painful and clicking for more than a week. I kept trying to "crack" it myself. He worked his magic and the clicking stopped and no more pain. Go see him for chronic pain or just to feel amazing. Remember to breathe, he's WAY stronger than you think. The lovely Bruce runs the front desk. He keeps that place bustling and running efficiently while being friendly, fabulous and remembering your name. He always seems so genuinely happy to see you when you walk in the door. He is one of the extra special perks in that office. If I ever go in and he's not there, my heart sinks a little... and I say "Ah, where's Bruce?' The clinic has more practitioners and offers more services than the ones I've reviewed so check it out. read more

Justin Adam Smith you know how to make a guy feel good! I am sure you make a girl feel good too. I recently have been enduring severe lower back pain. It has prevented me from sleeping well and doing all the active things I love in life. Justin to the rescue. The certificate on his salon wall said he was certified in 2007 but his sense of professionalism and technique would make you think he has been a CMT for a lifetime. He really listened to why I was in need of a massage and attacked those problem areas like a pro...well that is because he is a pro! If you are in need of some fine tuning or just some relaxing you should give Justin a call. Just a word of warning you will become hooked and need a regular fix but it is all worth it! read more

Totally recommend this place. The doctor was nice and honest. I went there assuming i had a bad neck problem. He told me I don't need to come back and there was nothing serious while he could totally hook me for additional sessions. He was a professional did a good job identifying the problem. Smooth work with no pain or tension. read more

Dr Badyal is exceptional in terms of service, results and customer service. I went to see him last year for the first time, and had some wariness of Chiropractic treatment, however he quickly diagnosed my issue, treated it in a very direct, hands-on way, with great results. He was very clear with what I needed to do at home in between sessions (not onerous), and his predictions about timeline for recovery were very close to spot-on. Further, his customer service is exceptional - he has on occasion seen me on a day off, when I had an urgent issue, and he is always very polite, takes his time to explain things, and provides good insights into what's actually going on, rather than just doing the treatment and not saying anything about it. His clinic is very clean, staff very friendly, and I seem to manage to get convenient appointments consistently. read more

Being a longtime customer over many years, I understand why the Downtown Wellness Centre is consistently ranked #1. For starters, Office Manager Bruce provides an efficient and stress free atmosphere for patients, while applying the appropriate human touch whether it is humour or compassion that is required. It is immediate apparent that he creates a judgement free zone. It is clear that he knows his operation! Second, Dr. Badyal WILL solve your ailment and alleviate your pain. Furthermore, he will provide you with excercises and solutions that you will use subsequently, and in my case, for years. Dr. Badyal is an exceptional Practioner, applying professionalism and human warmth. The Downtown Wellness Centre cares about its patients. read more

After coming across Downtown Wellness Centre by chance, I think I may have found a gem in RMT Ed Wong. Searching for the ideal massage therapist can be like the search for the holy grail. You have to like the clinic itself, the RMT needs to be talented (duh), but you also need to have some level of rapport or comfort with the RMT as well. I was initially unimpressed because when I arrived (10min early as per usual etiquette), the door was locked and there was no one in sight to let me in. After knocking for a minute or two, Ed came to let me in, apologizing profusely. While it wasn't his fault he was the only one in the office in the evening, it was off-putting. He was also running a few minutes late with his previous client. Thankfully, Ed made up for it. I definitely received the therapeutic (read: good pain...mostly) massage I requested rather than some inane effleurage. To my memory, it's one of the most thorough massages I've experienced. Clearly I've been going to sub-par RMTs this entire time! Ed addressed each trigger point systematically (I have a lot so that's no easy feat) and was very generous with his time (giving me a longer treatment than I had paid for!) so he could address every concern I had that evening. He also used some interesting techniques I haven't experienced from anyone else. Ed was pleasant to be around, and we carried on a comfortable conversation throughout most of the treatment. Great bedside manner, and here's a guy who knows that excellent customer service will turn a one-time customer into a repeat client. I may have to try out one or two more RMTs to make sure Ed is the real deal...but I'll be back sooner than later, I'm sure. read more

I have been seeing Dr Badyal off and on for nearly 10 years and recommend him highly. Though I have tried other chiropractors, I have always ended up back at Dr Badyal's clinic because he is friendly, professional, and (most importantly) very successful at treating my back issues. read more

I see Dr. Raminder Badyal for all my chiropractic needs. He is witty, easy to talk to, and absolutely knows exactly what to do every time I go in. The Downtown Wellness Clinic atmosphere is peaceful and urban and Bruce at the front desk is a pleasure to speak to! There are other services available here, but so far I have only had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Raminder Badyal. With a great downtown location, it's a breeze to have him fix your back and spirit! read more

I was so disheartened and upset when my regular chiropractor of 5 years left to open a clinic in Barbados. I never thought I'd find another chiropractor who would be as good and take good care of my back. I looked up a clinic that would be close and convenient for me and ended up booking with Dr. Badyal. First of all, what a great way to be greeted at the clinic by an incredibly amazing and wonderful person named Bruce! Bruce, you are a gift from heaven with your warm and open character. God love you! As for Dr. Badyal, yup, he's fantastic. Great treatments with good care and knows how to make me feel so much better. He definitely has filled those big empty shoes of my previous chiropractor very well, and has surpassed my expectations. Did I mention that he's EXTREMELY easy on the eyes too? :) read more

He relies too much on gimmickry for my taste. Every visit he'd start by hooking me up for about 15 or 20 minutes to that horribly unpleasant and useless electrical muscle stimulation / torture machine while he goes off and deals with another patient or eats his lunch or who knows what. It feels impersonal and lazy. He prescribed a lot of follow up visits when it was pretty clear that I wasn't getting any benefits from the office visits. He did give me some exercises to do and recommend icing my back which I did find possibly useful but even with that I would have benefited from more face time and better instructions from him instead of just being sent home with a crappy printout full or contradicting and vague instructions. I will confess that I'm also not 100% sold on the whole profession in general. This was my first and only chiropractor experience but my 3 visits here certainly did nothing to convince me it's not pure quackery. I'm sure for some things it can help but I don't think this guy is always very honest with his patients or himself about what he really can do. I'm not saying don't ever try him, but I'd say if your first visit didn't give you what you needed, make up your own mind about if you should come back instead of taking his word for it. read more

I came here for an RMT massage after reading reviews on yelp. I had somehow hurt my back in my sleep so was in need of a massage STAT. They were able to fit me in with only 2 hours notice. My RMT was Tim. He is new to the clinic and has only been practicing for a couple years however you would think he has been doing it his entire life. Right off the bat Tim was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable. He was super knowledgeable and addressed all of my issues. He even fixed other areas that I didn't realize were tense and in need of work. He was quite funny in the sense that he got super into and was clearly very jazzed when he managed to work a knot out. He was also very good at reading whether or not I was in the mood to chat, which at times I was and other times I just wanted to relax. Overall the entire experience was super awesome that I made another appointment for 2 weeks later. read more
