I was very impressed with the clinic and the variety of services offered. Then I was simply asked "What have you done for this in the past?" I responded "Acupuncture." To which he replied "Okay, let's do that." I was hooked up and he left. It felt good, took care of the issue and he came back to due a small adjustment and he said I should be back in a day or two for another session. It was an alright experience but I got the impression that my issue or just me as a patient just wasn't all that important to the doctor. The clinic was packed with people in different rooms, the waiting room was full. It was clear he was treating up to 5 or 6 people at a time which is okay I guess, I understand that you can do an adjustment on someone while the other guy is getting acupuncture. But the thought kept creeping in to mind that maximizing profit was more important than my issue. You can get great treatment here, but I just like to have a bit more of a one-on-one experience with a personable doctor that has a vested interested in getting you better. Not sure you can get that here. Maybe you can, maybe I just had a bad experience, maybe my standards are too high. Not sure, but I've found another chiropractor I prefer. This place is worth checking out if your new to the area and need some treatment.

I often see RMTs to try and help with the pain, and it's not often that I find one that I really think is worth recommending. I've probably seen over a dozen different RMTs in Toronto, and there aren't that many I'd go to twice. I've been seeing Ivan Tam for a few sessions now and I think he does great work. He really gets into the problem areas with incredible technique, and I feel very refreshed after seeing him. He also gives tips on how to help with preventative measures (stretches, etc). How would I pay for it if I wasn't told before hand to bring my card since "front desk is away" and when I asked will they be back the answer was " I'm not sure" this is hilarious it's a joke of a massage company. You do have your own space for the massage. The walls are high, but not high enough to the ceiling. I heard the guy in the room next to me getting stretched and then my boss talking to the receptionist during my massage - neither helping me relax for the massage. The room was clean-ish but I've definitely been to cleaner (including Step Up across the street). The massage was ok. I had lower back pain and still have lower back pain, so not the best. Also I got scratched a couple times. The worst part though was the conversation. What clearly was meant to be helpful really took away from the experience. I was suggested other services for things I'm treating in other ways and also told to lose weight. Granted, I am overweight, but as someone who has been that way for some time, I clearly know that less weight is better. This wasn't something I needed to be lectured about while getting a massage. My masseuse asked if they could be direct before telling me to lose weight and I said yes but the none direct method before of asking me about my appetite and portions I eat and if I stress eat made it pretty obvious where the "direct" advise was going. I wanted to enjoy it and I seriously debated writing this, but I would hate for someone more sensitive than me to go in and have the same experience and walk away actually sad.

My regular massage therapist had to cancel last minute and since I was in so much pain I booked a last minute massage here. I told the massage therapist that I had really aggravated my post concussion symptoms, so she thought a good idea would be applying pressure to the middle of my head and massaging that area. Not a good idea as it caused much further aggravation. I told my chiropractor, regular massage therapist, and family doctor what happened, and they were just absolutely baffled why a therapist would do that to a post concussion syndrome client and confirmed that this has what led to a major setback for me. I informed the office of what happened but no response.
