This was the coolest place to live!
The location is fantastic. Smack dab in the middle of downtown Aurora. Walking distance to the train, the casino, Bally Doyle, The Riverfront Playhouse, and like millions of great Mexican restaurants.
The building is unique and has quite a storied past. If you happen to be in the office, check out the black and white photo of what this building once was. This building has had several reincarnations(a hospital for the Salvation Army for one). The same builder that took the River North area to greatness, also turned what was once a dilapidated abandoned building into gorgeous lofts. The glass front lobby sets a modern tone for what to expect in the lofts. Each one has soaring ceilings and an open floor plan. From the studio lofts to the penthouse, each loft is aesthetically pleasing in it's own different way.
Safety is key in any building. This one has gated parking. Guests have to get buzzed in by the phone/intercom system outside the lobby to enter.
I lived in 2 different units, each with 2 bedrooms. The second one had a loft with a spiral staircase. As far as I know, every unit has a microwave, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. I was in love with all the cabinet space my units had.
The common areas include a gym, a outdoor courtyard, and a small party room connected to the rooftop. The rooftop has a gas grill and decent outdoor furniture, I had some epic get togethers on that rooftop. It's amazing during the 4th of July when you can see tons of firework shows going on in every direction.
The staff was awesome when I lived there. Super helpful, quickly resolved any maintenance issues, and just very friendly. No issue at all getting my security deposit back.
I was so sad to leave. But the schools in the area aren't great. I would recommend living here if you're a fan of urban flavor and adventure! read more
