I ended up having oral surgery and even through the referral process, Kelly checked on me several times over the weekend and got me into a great oral surgeon in Dr. Silverstein. I'm beyond thankful for the care they give to my 86 year old father and now me and other members of our family. I'm thrilled I finally have a wonderful dentist with a phenomenal office staff. Without gas, my day was quite anxious but went thru the novacaine needle ok but when Dr Rose was ready to have her drilling begin, she said she wasn't numb. Annoyed, he tried to keep drilling but when she said she a could still feel the pain, he came back with another needle, clearly annoyed with her and numbed her up so badly she couldn't feel her eye and wasn't able to eat for way longer than the usual novacaine needle. Everything was organized and they asked all the important question about my medical and dental history. They left nothing out. When I first met Dr Veys I was totally impressed. She examined me front to back, up and down, inside and out. I apologized for the mess my mouth was in. I saw a Prosthodontist for almost 9 years. I spend a lot of money, time, pain and not to mention anxiety. This dentist I saw was a salesman and sold me a lot of junk. Whatever work that was done had to be redone. Dr Veys was able to fix and undue the damage that was done and I didn't have to take a second mortgage. I never had to sit around. She ran pretty much on schedule. This was wonderful after waiting hours to see the other dentist. I spent more time walking out of appointments which was horrible, lack of patients time and unprofessional. I didn't have the anxiety of her discussing money and what things cost. The previous dentist would talk money before working on me. Even telling me how to pay for the work. I thought that was the job of the front office? There is never any pressure at Dr Veys. All financial services are handled with the staff at the front desk. Erica explains everything on the bill. What was done at today's visit and what was happening at upcoming visits. Oh yes, Melissa, what an incredible hygienist. I've had my teeth cleaned ever since I had teeth. WOW, I think she cleaned and sanitized my mouth like Mr Clean. I never knew my mouth could feel so smooth and shiny and decay free. My fingers are tired of talking. Also, I found it interesting that when I would ask questions she would appear annoyed. I have gone to another dentist who is wonderful. I explained my family wants required procedures and we're happy to discuss any that are anything else. What we didn't want was every visit to be told we need work, when we didn't. He also takes the time to really explain the what and why of his work - it's really fantastic. Example: Last time I went to Veys several years ago I was told I had several teeth that needed cavity work. My new dentist never mentioned a thing. He did say everything looked great and he advised on items that might be coming within the next 10 years due to my age. Don't take my word for it, talk to anyone who has seen her for more than a couple years.

They sent us a bill of $226 claiming that's our share which the insurance did not pay but we specifically asked if there is anything we would need to pay out of pocket other than our co-pay and the answer was "absolutely not". Not only this, they decided to send our contact details to some collections agency without speaking to us. When I called them, they lied about leaving VM's and making attempts to contact us. It's evident they chose not to speak to us because they had already lied to us about giving services that the insurance would not cover. Once again, I am not demeaning their dentistry services in any way whatsoever, they are good at what they do, just be mindful of your bills while dealing with them. Don't believe what they are saying and double check every thing with your insurance first.

I finally made an appointment with Westtown Dental Associates after a friend referred me and they made me feel comfortable and did not chastise me for not seeing a dentist for so long. I had an appointment this afternoon for Dr.Pratt to examine a very sensitive area of my gum. I…read morehad already explained to the tech that I had a cleaning 2 weeks ago and it was fine after she gave me novacaine. I asked her to tell Dr. Pratt that I needed novacaine prior to examination. Either she didn't do it or he ignored it. He came in and sat down without a hello or any greeting. At that time I asked to be numbed and he refused. He then took the explorer to look in my mouth and pulled my gum down hard with his gloved thumb. His thumbnail was deep into the area of pain. I asked again to have it numbed. He threw his instrument down and said "I'm done". Dr. Pratt acted like a petulant child. His immaturity astounded me. He does not listen to his patients. He does not care to explain anything. I would seriously consider another dentist. If you were at all thinking of Dr. Pratt. I have been a nurse for over 40 years and have never seen that kind of treatment of a doctor to a patient. I don't think I've ever seen that childlike anger from a Healthcare provider.

When I wrote to him on his website, his office gave me an 8::00 AM special appointment on Monday morning to fix my tooth. By the way, he came to office with his assistant just to work on my tooth and apparently another patient who had some issue too. That is to me, compassion. She could not get it to fit, you could see through the white to the dark base because she removed too much of it in an effort to make it fit. It did not stay on. She was very nice and offered to order yet another crown and do it again, but after three attempts I gave up and went and paid full price again to have another dentist do it. I have had five other crowns done and never had problems like this. The hygienist was nice, and not terrible but also far from the best I have had. I would avoid this dentist.
