Alright, this is an addendum to what I wrote earlier because of a particularly cool thing that…read morehappened to me this week. I was playing softball with my company team on Sunday night and as I was leaving I mistakenly drove off with my shoes and wallet on the trunk of my car. I realized this by the time I got to my destination so I ended up retracing my route in a panic desperately attempting to find my black wallet along the side of the road in the middle of the night... ugh. Of course I never found the wallet, but when I got home I had an e-mail from one of the guys that is an umpire for Kreig saying that he found it. He was super nice and had tried several means of contacting from my business card and other info in inside as well as calling my bank to let them know that he had found the lost wallet. Well I got it back the next day and I bought him a beer to show my appreciation. Because this guy was so cool I will go ahead and bump them up to a full 5 stars. Here's to good karma!

I've played in two sand volleyball tournaments here. I really like Krieg; the courts are well kept…read moreand there are ample portable restrooms in the area. The softball fields are also quite nice, and I've seen people play there too. Trash cans are abundant and so are bleachers. I don't have many complaints. If you plan to be out all day, bring some sort of shade and your own chair for comfort.

I met my Muay Thai trainer/coach here for a Sunday morning training session. The park was easy to…read morefind and had a basketball court, restrooms, playground, baseball field, benches, and paths. During my session we used the basketball court and ran the baseball field since neither were in use while we trained. Overall a decent park but it all depends on what you had planned while visiting. There is a decent amount of parking based the size of the park.

Would love to give more stars for this park. The only…read moreproblems -from my experience- are from others who go there... 1) It's NOT a leash-free park, but a large number of people think it's ok and allow their dogs off-leash. Dismissive owners range from "it's ok, my dog(s) [is/are] friendly" (despite concerns/quarrels) to complete disregard of picking up their dog's poop (or bagging it and leaving the bag on the ground). Dog owners can absolutely make or break your experience. And yes, I'm a dog-owner! Kinda sad for me to report that I'm kinda happy that APD frequently visits! 2) People leave trash or their dog's poop bags around. Picnic tables by the playground area or the pavilion can be littered with trash. Poop bags can be spotted throughout (so sad- how hard is it to deposit the trash/poop bags in the receptacles provided?). Wish people took care of their trash better so that others can enjoy this park! 3) As a former baseball coach, the poop situation is ridiculous regarding the fields. Imagine YOUR kid trying to stop a ball and diving into poop - not cool. This park used to be a place that kids could gather, learn, and play baseball: It's become a cesspool of poop and uncaring dog-owners (shame on you!). 4) There's so much more positive about this park, but unfortunately the prior mentions seriously cloud any purpose of other comments. Yes, bathrooms (if they're open/not vandalized). Yes, trails (if there aren't teenage pot smokers present). Yes, an awesome basketball court! Yes, there's a historical graveyard next to the basketball court. Yes, nice parking. If those who visited this park did their part - following the laws, picking up after themselves, etc - then Longview deserves 5 stars. As it is as of this post, sadly: 1 star.

I can see how most times people just drive off.. me being the curious person I am just started walking by myself in the woods on a trail. I fortunately just so happen to see one woman walking her dogs and followed her in that direction but i swear to you she was walking fast as to not give this place away hahah! She actually disappeared onto another trail and couldnt find her.. (like Alice and Wonderland and the white rabbit style).. finally I heard splashing! I looked to my right and saw a weird trail that went down a steep side hill. So I followed the noise.. its pretty steep so be careful! After the brush and trees cleared THERE IT WAS! CLEAR, COOL WATER!! It was shallow when I got there and only about 8 people were there at 1pm during a Saturday. As time goes on it gets deeper and the water rises! Also more people start coming too. It feels sooooo amazing! You can grab a chair and just sit in the middle drinking and cooling off. Dog friendly! I spent a few hours with my boy before heading back. I live for finding places like this!
