Our last night in Quebec City, we dined at BŌ Cuisine d'Asie, right next to Le Capitole Hotel…read more We kicked things off with the BEEF TATAKI: beet salad, cilantro, and nam jim sauce. That sauce was the real star--don't shy away from the raw beef! It was a must-try for sure, earning a solid 9/10. Next up were the TEMPURA SHRIMPS (3 pcs): krupuk chips, Québec seaweed emulsion, and wakame salad. While these were a bit more batter than shrimp, I think that's the point! The sauce balanced it out nicely. I'd give these a 7/10. The SALMON SASHIMI was one of the best dishes of the night. The sauce added an amazing flavor that really elevated the fresh raw salmon dish. Easily a 9/10 for this one! For dumplings, we got the BEEF GYOZA: wagyu, ginger, cabbage, green onions, and soy sauce. I prefer my gyozas crispier, but the flavors were spot on. A tasty 7/10. For the main dishes, we had the TERIYAKI SCALLOPS: maple-glazed, crispy rice, fried seaweed, spicy cream sauce, and red caviar. These were incredible--so fresh and perfectly balanced. I loved everything about them, and they deserved a 9/10. The highlight of the night was definitely the GENERAL TAO CHICKEN: fried grain-fed chicken breast, marinated with sesame and topped with Tao sauce, pan-fried veggies, and Québec organic camelina seeds. This dish was perfection and an absolute must-order, a well-deserving 10/10! For dessert, we had the MANGO CARAMEL & CHOCOLATE BAO: fried bao with chocolate-caramel ganache and mango kombucha sorbet. If you've never had a dessert bao, now's your chance! It was a warm, chocolaty pillow of love that paired so well with the mango. A delicious 9/10 to wrap up the meal! Overall: 9/10 for the food, 5/10 for affordability (not very budget-friendly but the quality is there), and 9/10 for ambiance. I loved the chic blue velvet vibes here!

Just in front, along the old fortress walls of Quebec City is this fusion Asian bistro. We've tried the dim sum dumplings, kungpao chicken and different fusion dishes. I'll stick to more common dishes for better flavors and tastes. The kitchen tried I've acknowledged that but it's missing something? I don't know where to put a finger on it. It's just missing something. But overall if you're craving some Asian dishes and are near old town Quebec City this is a must.

We had an reservation at 19h, but when we arrived to the restaurant they said wait for 10 minutes and then after wait for 5 minutes.. Finally, we had to wait until 19h30 to get in. By the way, they close at 21h, so we juste lost 30 min. After, we ordered a lot of food, but it takes so much times for the order to get ready! Also, they often forget many items that we ordered, so we never received it. The beef were not fresh and it was sour! I went to the washroom for the whole evening and let me tell you, it's not funny at all. The toilettes smells fishy and it was not clean. We warn the manager about the beef that was not fresh and he clearly didn't give a clue about that ‍ I don't recommend this all you can eat sushi, the experience was really bad.

The decor in the new restaurant is very fun and clean, modern and not at all like many strip mall sushi places I've been to. We took our order back to the hotel and were pleased to see a lot of food - a 12 hour drive makes you hungry. Unfortunately, as we unpacked our order we realized that the dumplings and spring rolls we'd ordered were not in the bag. There was no way we were getting back in the car after spending the entire day in it, so we decided to cut our losses. The sushi was good - not exceptional - but good. Unfortunately the wasabi lacked kick ( I could have used about 5 times as much of that), and for me that makes or breaks it. We both noted that the eel was incredibly fishy tasting and I found 3 sharp bones in mine. Big oops! W did enjoy the rest of the sushi, it came with lots of pickled ginger and soy, and extra spicy mayo, as well. I think attention to detail might be something Sakura needs to examine, but they'e relatively new apparently, so hopefully these are just growing pains. They definitely have potential.
