Simply put, Dr. Douté is a straight-shooting, no-nonsense surgeon who, if you look past his brusque demeanor, you will find cares deeply for his patient's health and well-being. After over eight years of seeing countless doctors for severe pain in my lower back, hip, leg and knee, Dr. Douté started from ground zero. Only after ordering an X-Rays, MRI, CT Scan and a nerve conductive test did he suggest that surgery might help me regain some sense of a normal life. In fact, he was quite honest with me that it may take two surgeries, and that there was a possibility some of the pain would persist beyond those. We quickly settled on a day for my laminectomy and L4-L5 surgery which was designed to relieve the damaged disc, severe lumbar arthritis, and release my impinged sciatic nerve, along with a couple of smaller ones. Once the planning was completed, Dr. Douté's real talent as a surgeon - and as a caregiver - came to light. He did everything possible to calm my nerves, explained everything he would be doing while I was under, took ample time with my wife and I and the ridiculous number of questions I had. A second surgery was indeed necessary to clean things up. A procedure I slid right into given the trust I now had for him - and his staff. Speaking of which, Connor and Brandi were always available, pleasant, and on top of things. We were always billed properly and they handled our insurance perfectly. I am now two months post-op from my second surgery and feeling great. I still have some rehab to strengthen my legs and lower back to go, but for the first time in nearly a decade, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I wish I could give him zero stars. He has a negative zero rating to me. This doctor is rude and very unprofessional. I had an appointment in his office at 11am and left his office at 12:45 because I never seen. i saw him in the hall and he sat down at the front desk where I asked the receptionist how much longer would it be, the Doctor threw his pen on the desk as if i was bothering him. I explained that I had to get back to work could he call me with the results and was told No he could not she can reschedule me. Mean while the doctor is right in my face. He got up and did not address my concerns or look at me. He walked right by me as if I was not there. Needless to say I wasn't seen after being there for almost two hours. Wow!! I am so glad to find Dr. Doute. He did surgery on my back after I had fallen and had a Fx., many years ago ( approx 15) I was in horrible pain and he promised he could give me relief. I have NOT had any pain since then. He also gave my husband two injections in his back that helped him very much. I had lost track of him and was told he had left the area. Now that I have found him I have just made an appt. for my husband to see him on Tues. I trust him. Yes, his bedside manner is sometime abrasive but he does not seem to mind if you just snap back at him. And he will at least take time to talk to you. I'm sorry my fellow Yelpers I thought I'd come back to give you the 411 on this dude. I think I was so busy making sure I hit every medical website I could find to talk about how dissatisfied I was with him and to steer everyone I knew and didn't know away from him. Wow, night and day! I guess this doctor was off his meds during my visit about a year ago. He was SO rude I couldn't even believe I was dealing with the same person. His attitude was so drastic the best way to describe Dr. Damien Doute is he's a pompous jerk! I can't say what I really want to say so I'll stick with jerk. The sad part is I thought he was a nice doctor initially. To be honest, I'd read reviews prior to my initial review that said he had terrible bedside manners but I'd already made my appointment and didn't want to change. When I went to visit him the first time, it was just the opposite he was actually quite friendly. That's why I felt compelled to clear his name and the pleasant experience I had with him. In a nutshell without making this too long winded, I visited the doctors office and waited forever. After waiting, he pushed me off on a PA which I'm okay with that but he should have informed me that he was doing that. When I saw him, I was only jokingly saying "Hey I made an appointment with you and you just pushed me off on someone else (smiling the entire time)" This dude snapped and said "Don't you see all these patients in the office, I don't have time to see everyone" and then walked his @#$! off. I said to myself " I don't care how many patients you have, I made an appointment, which by the way you're 45 mins late for. As a courtesy, he should have #1 apologized for the wait and #2 explained to me that he wanted me to see a PA so that I would no longer be inconvenienced." He chose a different route though and I'm asking that each of you choose a different route when looking for a professional podiatrist in the Atlanta area. He's definitely not the one! Dr. Damien A.Doute is professional,knowledgeable, and a dedicated,caring surgeon,that provides excellent care, in a very through way.....his way. I credit him for totally eliminating all of my lower back pain,with a surgical procedure called a posterior fusion of l5-s1,with osteo clips at l2-s1. As a result, I have been rejuvenated to walk,dance,and even roller skate again at age fifty-five.Therefore,I am highly recommending Dr. Doute's services to everyone I know. read more

Dr. Doute is an absolute gem in his field of expertise. He tends to run a little behind on his appointments, but is usually due to the amount of time he spends with each patient. He is willing to answer any questions or concerns that a patient has and spend as much time with them as they need.... it tends to make him be late for others as the day goes. He is so educated in his field that he can easily review your symptoms and understand the issues at play. I have been seeing Dr Doute for almost 5 years and have had several issues to address over that time and he has yet to steer me in the wrong direction of the care that was needed. read more

Waste your time with this doctor at your own risk. Most unprofessional and rude individual you could ever come across. My encounter with Damien was immediately terrible from his hello. My appointment was at 8:30 am. I planned on arriving early due to the fact that i am a new patient, early arrival is usually required. I arrive at 8:07 and sat in the elevator area(because the waiting room was closed) until 8:15. Still no sign of anyone. I than call the front office and received no answer so i left a message. Waited until my actual appointment time of 8:30, still no answer or call back from anyone letting me know i needed to reschedule my appointment for another day. At 8:36 Damien walks in and in his exact words in a very unpleasant voice he says "are you the one calling my office" my reply was "yes" his reply was "why, isn't your appointment @ 8:30" I reply " I arrived early out of courtesy" his reply "I thought the office was on fire, my receptionist is running late. I will let you in, in a minute" and proceeds to walk to his office, leaving me in the uncomfortable elevator area with back pain. Even after his rudeness i still wait because i felt maybe he will rethink is unnecessary attitude and hopefully my wait would not have been a waste. No! Not Damien. He comes out and says " now the waiting room is open you can come wait in there. Attitude was still on 100. With all my pain i was in and how unprofessional this individual was with no remorse, I was not going to let this guy anywhere near my body. I left with so many questions in my head. One that wouldn't go away is, if you saw me calling or was aware why not answer or give your patient a courtesy call letting them know your status?.
