The precision of his work is truly remarkable. My post-operative X-rays clearly demonstrate the meticulous care and technical excellence he brings to his craft--an image truly worth a thousand words. I genuinely believe this type of surgery is both a science and an art, and Dr. Refai is a master of both. Because I am a small person, he thoughtfully designed and fitted a cage specifically for my smaller anatomy. Pitiful Care & Lies - What Did I Do to Deserve This?…read more I just have to say--the care I received at your office was absolutely pitiful. And let's be real, it had everything to do with discrimination. Whether it was my ankle monitor, my insurance status, or something else--y'all made a conscious decision to treat me like I was less than. Let's talk about Mr. Deep for a second. I asked him point-blank: "Do you think this has anything to do with a Baker's cyst? I've had them 3-4 times before, but it never spread into my calf." He looked me in the face and said, "No." Guess what? It was a Baker's cyst. So, either he didn't know what he was talking about, or he just didn't care. Meanwhile, I was in excruciating pain and just needed something--whether it was the meloxicam (which wasn't available until Monday morning) or ANYTHING to get some relief. Instead, I had to go to another doctor, who actually helped me by prescribing prednisone, which finally gave me some relief. And let's talk about the lies. Y'all told me Dr. Potts doesn't do knee replacements. If that's true, fix his online info because that's false advertising. You told me you called in my meloxicam, but guess what? You waited THREE DAYS to do it. Why? Now, you're trying to get rid of me after I've been seeing Dr. Potts for 2.5 years? What did I do to deserve this? I've had conversations with him about growing up around Jimmy Andrews, about vacationing and duck hunting with them. And now y'all want to treat me like I don't matter? And another thing--Mr. Deep had the nerve to pull up my X-rays and tell me my knee isn't quite "bone on bone," so I shouldn't be in this much pain. Excuse me?? He straight-up said their patients either just deal with the pain or get surgery. What kind of nonsense is that? Let me be very clear: I wasn't looking for pain meds. I don't even take them. I was in agony and could barely walk for a week. I saw y'all once, then my girlfriend insisted I get help, and THIS is what I got? At the very least, y'all could have had my meloxicam ready the same day when I spoke to the lady on Friday. But you couldn't even do that. This whole experience was shameful. Moye Colquitt

My mom had to make the tough decision to get elective surgery for a hip replacement and Dr. Iams bedside manners are unmatched! Him, along with his PA provided such a level of care that you felt as if they were your family and you were in great hands. From his scheduler, to him being prompt and on time for every appointment, his level of detail was just astonishing. He made her tension about the surgery go with ease. With him being a part of the piedmont network, it made life so much easier. We receive alerts for when she went back to the operating room, when she was in procedure, and when she finished in real time! I have been receiving excellent care from Dr Mathew for over a decade. In 2017 he suggested I be…read moretested for HEP-C. I resisted telling him I had none of the lifestyle choices usually associated with this condition but he advised me that many baby boomers had been turning up with it. I agreed to be tested and sure enough I tested positive for HEP-C. He referred me to a Gastroenterologist that treated and cured me if this condition before I had suffered any liver damage. This is only one example of his awareness and ability. I originally selected him out of convenience. His office was located within 1 mile of mine. However I no longer work at that office but I gladly make a 21 mile journey to see him now because I find him to be a trustworthy and excellent physician.
