It's a 50 meter outdoor pool with lap lanes. Unfortunately the season ends Sept 2. This is a really nice pool. I think it would be fun if you have kids but I only use the lap lanes. Nice green scenery surrounds the pool and not too crowded. The water is a little too warm to really feel refreshing but at least it's outside.

The hamburgers they made there were better than ANY at ANY food place we've been to in all of Lexington KY. Must be some home recipe. One day we went there just to get a burger/fries. They chase everyone out of the pool every 45 min or so. Why not make some kind of lighted sign with a giant clock to show in a non-angry way its part of the plan? The lifeguards blow whistles all the sudden and yell at the kids to get out, as if this is a Jaws movie. Make it non threatening and encourage getting fresh water or a small snack? Play music 1 minute before the kick out time, setup tables with free water cups? have some small challenges, throw a frisbee into a target and win a small prize or who knows. But they dont do these things. Parking is miserable, expect your car will be hit by someone's door. Period.

I have not been able to get up to a pool all summer with how busy it has been, and I was looking forward to this event at the Pool Cabana. The tour of the grounds was very, very nice. We learned so much about the mansion venue, about their golfing bar and golfing venue that you can rent out, and various venues you can rent out for your parties. They are one of the only resorts in Lexington, so that was very interesting. They're definitely prepared for a staycation or a romantic getaway. They have so many amenities like pickleball, indoor pool, outdoor pool, cabanas, bike riding if you want to go take your bike on a stroll on the Legacy Trail. As well as a spa and bourbon dispensers. (Literally) They also have fire pits all over the venue for you to roast some marshmallows, which I definitely took advantage of that because I love a burnt marshmallow. Also, we were able to try some appetizers and the mini hot browns stole the show! Obsessed! I had a great time with everyone and dipping into the pool. It is a very clean venue, very luxurious, and definitely a place to think about for your next vaycay or staycation. It's also very accessible for anyone with a wheel chair!

I went there to walk my dog and be in nature. The majority of the main paved walking path is actually separate from the park. It runs alongside the road that runs through the park. Because I was there around rush hour, it basically felt like walking on a sidewalk next to a busy street, rather than like walking in a park. Also, there was some construction and a lot of electrical lines with big metal bases along the path, which also detracted from the little bit of nature. But who knows, maybe I'll come back in the summer (I noticed a pool) and end up increasing my score.

There was plenty of activities for all ages and mobility levels! I enjoyed the water slide and the lazy river the best. It was very cost effective for our family to attend and enjoy a wonderful summer day! Blacktop parking made it easy to get in and out. Changing rooms were clean with showers and restrooms available. The snack shack offered fresh burgers, chili dogs and a variety of snacks making it a great place for lunch. I was highly impressed and will be back!

I was not super impressed with the space, but it was cheap so I guess I can't complain too much. The biggest disappointment is that there is no deep water to swim in, the deepest part is about 4 foot and is a very small, crowded area. The part where the water slide dumps out is roped off for safety which is understandable, but this area could be smaller in my opinion so that there's more swimming area. Pros: - cheap, lots of chairs, 4 big umbrellas for shaded chairs (these obviously fill up fast), "cabanas" available for rent, very easy entry in and out of pool, lazy river and water slide, lazy river was perfect temp, several lifeguards on duty, not checking bags so you can easily bring in outside food and water, gave me the resident price even though I'm not a KY resident Cons - no deep swimming area, only chairs are loungers - no regular chairs, main pool is ice cold and like not a refreshing cold - even on a 90° day, no enforcement of "kids take a 15 minute break every hour" rule, lots of small rocks around, lots of small trash and wrappers, long concession line, no reentry, kids jumping and flipping into other people Don't get here at 11:20 (they open at 11:30) and think you'll be quick to get in - we waited 45 minutes to get inside. One girl working, credit card reader would disconnect or was very slow, pretty inefficient. We were able to cool off, but I wouldn't come back - you're better off to stay at a hotel with a pool.

The old fort site has a marina and some signage, but it was brutal hot, so I wandered up to the Kentucky River Museum and stumbled right into a fascinating tour! The guide's family has operated the lock (Lock 10 to be specific) since practically conception, so he had stories, pictures, letters, journals, and a deep connection to the home and site. Awesome tour! This tour is included with your purchase of a fort ticket, so I headed over there to get mine and wander around the replica fort complete with cabins, crows, period demonstrations, and a video about the one and only Daniel Boone! You know, that guy, pretty famous in these parts....
