My daughter's Dart which I was having repaired via distance, as I was working in UAE, car had ignition failure while nearing completion at the body and needed a tow from Phillippe Auto body to a claimed repair specialist, 6.3 miles, I asked for a Veteran's discount and instead was suggested and then actually hit with a dolly xtra-charge so $140 dollars. I was able to repatriate myself from the missile and drone attacks in UAE via Oman and Turkey, but have nothing but disgust for opportunistic scam artist Doug Perry Towing...check this out, paid the same for two tows same vehicle (car had to go to the Dodge Dealer) from 5 Star Tiger Towing. Evil company. We came into Columbia to visit our student son over the summer. We parked at his apartment garage for about 2 hours while we walked to dinner. No we did not have a permit, but school is not in session and the garage was almost completely empty. A DPT driver towed our car. Then we were required to meet him in person and give him $265 cash to get our car back. He was not called by the property owner, he just patrolled to find a tow to get money. I will acknowledge we were not parked with permission and he was within his right to do this; however just because you can be horrible doesn't mean you should. Thanks DPT for ruining our weekend with our son. I sincerely hope karma comes for you. Update: DPT did not contact local authorities notifying them of the non-consensual tow as required by Missouri law, nor did the driver provide an invoice of the charges. They demanded cash only with no receipt in a dark parking lot in order to get my car back that they seized. Missouri is currently working on laws to crack down on predatory towing companies such as DPT. I hope they do. read more

I go here often for state inspection, been coming here for years. Had some basic suspension work done recently. It was not cheap, but who is? The staff were nice enough and pretty straightforward. They worked quickly and efficiently. Several days later I called and asked for another receipt and they were able to get one for me. I am so fed up rt now! I paid Doug Perry Towing on West Blvd in Columbia to mount AND balance two new tires and put them on the front of my van. First off, the tech put one new tire on the back and one new tire on the front so I had to go back when I noticed to ask them to please put BOTH new tires on the front. The tech swapped the new tire on the back with the old tire that was still on the front and had the audacity to try to charge me an additional 10 bucks for "half a rotation." I told the lady behind the counter that I had just given $40 to that I felt like I'd already paid to have the new tires put on the front and I would not be giving them more money for something I already paid to have done. Fast forward to today when I take the van on the highway for the first time with the new tires. Van shakes so violently I can't go over 60mph. I messaged the shop on Facebook explaining what issue I was experiencing around 9:15 am. Message was seen but no response was made. I messaged again around 11:15am requesting some sort of response. Reply finally received at 12:23pm telling me to call and speak with a woman named Annie. I called, explained again what was going on to the woman named Annie. She tells me, "we don't balance tires, we only mount them." I say to her, "I asked to have the new tires mounted and balanced when I brought them to your shop. Someone should have told me then that balancing the tires was not a service provided by the shop so I could have gone somewhere else to get it done." Annie apologized but insisted this was not her shops problem as they don't even have the proper equipment to balance tires. Now I have to take the van to a different shop and pay someone else to have the new tires balanced. Im so pissed about this! read more

My car has been having issues with it, and we had to get it towed Tuesday. I'm so pissed off because the tow truck drive put a dent in my bumper and damn near took it off, as he came back to fix it after us hollering that's my fucking bumper like 3 times he then tried to pull forward and it left a scratch from the dent forwardand then he proceeded to fix and put the lift all the way down like it should have been in the first place, he then backed it up and put my car on. My fiancee and I then realize when he was driving away the bottom rear of my car kept hitting the ground, and it was way to high towards the front and looked as if the tires were about to bounce off the lift, we tried to yell and get his attention but he just continued driving away, his window was down so, I know if my fiancee can hear me up there with his window down, I KNOW HE HEARD ME WITH HIS WINDOW DOWN, the whole time THE TOWING DRIVER DID NOT GIVE A DAMN, not even an APOLOGY for messing up my bump more than just the lights. Absurdly rude owners. AWFUL PEOPLE. I had my car towed by mistake, and they refused to talk to me in a calm, polite, or even civil manner and explain their side. I was willing to pay (be warned they really gouge you with the towing fee of 145) but they just flat out told me "pay or get the heck out". Aside from being called a liar by the condescending receptionist that clearly hates college students, I felt really uncomfortable in their shop. It was dirty, messy, and unprofessional. They didn't make me feel at all good about doing business with them, they just rudely demanded that I pay because "there is no way our driver makes mistakes". Incredulously, they cornered me into paying because they knew I was stranded and had class. How is this even legal? I struggle to understand how they have remained in business. Truly some of the nastiest people I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Even the errand boy that pulled my car took it over a curb and slammed the door. I had a situation where my truck was towed by Doug Perry Towing. After receiving my truck from the impound I drove less than a mile and noticed my transmission was not working properly, after pulling over and trying to engage the park I realized that there was a serious problem with the transmission. I thought since I had not experienced any problems with my transmission that there was the possibility of it being damaged during the tow. I called in the following day and asked to speak with the owner. I informed him that I would have my truck examined by a professional and that if there seemed to be damage that was caused by towing that I would be seeking reparations and possibly hiring an attorney to receive payment for damages done to my truck. Before I could finish explaining myself, the owner, Doug Perry, started on a wild rant of anger towards me. He called me a mother f***er and a son-of-a-bitch and then hung up the phone. I called back and tried to explain that I was not making any accusations, that I was only going to have my vehicle looked at and if need be hire an attorney and take the matter to small claims court. He then proceeded to calling me a "cock sucker " and again hung up the phone. Needless to say the owner of Doug Perry's Towing lacks any kind of professionalism.
