Cleanliness: Not great. Lots of dust and cobwebs. Trash in the hallway cans and parking garage was there for several days and have begun to smell. This seems to be a pretty big issue Restaurant: Food was meh. Not a lot of flavor tbh. Drinks were a decent pour but their service was average. Not bad service... just not great by any means. Having to be asked for your room number out loud multiple times was disconcerting. Not very safe for a female traveler in particular when everyone will know exactly what your room is in. That really should be address and changed. Location: Not good. Pretty bad area. I'd not walk it at night. Near some projects and lots of homeless people. Internet: Pretty slow tbh. This is an area that should improve as well. Fairly high latency, signal jitter and packet loss. Not great for business travelers. Rooms: Decent size, but again the cleanliness isn't great. They are loud, quite loud. Lots of noise from the nearby rooms due to the construction of the hotel. Doors slamming, stomping around, etc. LOTS of street noise with the traffic. Around 5am or so, it gets really loud outside due to the traffic. Overall, I won't stay here again and I'd not recommend it to anyone. read more

Recommend if you need a place to stay where you need to be connected to the ford center or nearby area. Check in was smooth buttttt...there were red splotch stains all over our carpet. Like kool aid or something. Every towel we grabbed had stains and so did the covers. The lights on the mirror were hanging sideways and when we moved them back in place you could see the grime all around them. The restaurant...okay so the staff was friendly however service was AWFUL. Took forever to get our food and my burger was cold. I could tell it had been sitting because the cheese was melted, but it was cold. They put almost no sauce on it and I had to ask three different people three different times to get me some to put on it. By the time my husband was done eating dinner. I finally was able to eat mine. After we left some friends of ours, ate there and they eventually got up and left after not receiving their food for an hour and a half. We decided not to pay for breakfast because it's expensive and if it's anything like the dinner was, it's definitely not worth it. read more

As A Hilton Honors members I find this hotel lacks the customer service. It's very disappointing knowing that a brand this big treats their hotel guest poorly. The situation occurred around 7am after a very long shift working I had checked into the hotel room trying to go to bed but instead of crashing my face into the pillows I had to call the manger on duty to come up and see why is there blood stains on my bed. Luckily it had two but the thought of someone's bodily fluid is on there is disgusting. The worst part is that the beds sheets were nicely folded and had the comforter covering up the blood stains. read more

I was rather concerned about what our experience at this hotel would be as the recent reviews have not been very favorable. Fortunately, I am glad to report that our stay was exceptional! We came in on a Tuesday afternoon and our room was ready for us. The hotel is located in "downtown" Evansville - a very small city compared to what I'm used to. However, the lack of traffic and people made it nice (and safe during the pandemic). The staff all wore masks and were generally very nice and respectful - the breakfast staff very friendly. We got a cart and were quickly moved into our room. Parking was included in the group's package and the garage was conveniently located adjacent to the hotel. The room was very nice - double beds, fridge, Directv, and enough outlets and free space to meet our needs. We were told upfront that the hotel would not provide any room service cleaning during our 5 day stay. However, we could get fresh towels or other needs at the front desk. Putting your trash can in the hallway would get it emptied during the day. The only issue we had was running out of TP - and then having to wait at the front desk for them to find extra rolls for us. I would have preferred they bring it to the room and/or set it inside the room. Breakfast was included with the team's package - a served buffet of potatoes, meats, eggs and fresh fruit - the same thing every day. By the last day my hubby would eat another round - so we went to Donut Bank - which I highly recommend. They did have coffee and cut up fruit - but I would have liked more whole fruit options. Also flavored creamer??? But overall, nice to something at all. The only suggestion during the pandemic - have the carts out somewhere so we can get more shampoo/conditioner, towels, coffee, etc for the room. I barely saw a cart the whole time I was there. WHen I did, I got more coffee to make in the room. Check out was easy although we couldn't get a cart. Fortunately, we could pull the car up to the door and manage to carry everything down in 1 load. Highly recommend you stay here. It was also within walking distance of many restaurants and a short drive from other. A very good location. read more

Very good hotel (probably the best in town) to stay while in Evansville. It's new, very clean, quiet and comfortable. Some of the best elements: nice hotel bar with good service, free shuttle to take you to dinner, office, etc., delicious cookies and free water for your room. I haven't tried the restaurant yet as I always head out for dinner, but I've heard some mixed reviews from colleagues. It looks really cute and I'll check it out eventually, I imagine. The meeting/conference space is also very nice, upscale and clean so it was great for the meetings and sessions I've attended. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I was really happy with my rooms and slept very well. The amenities were nice also. Highly recommend this property if you need a hotel in the area. read more

Where to begin. Checking in was professional and easy but getting a meal was another matter. The night I arrived, the bar had decided to end dinner service early. They did so knowing the hotel was still not offering room service (Covid protocols...a BS excuse at this stage) and having a dozen patrons in the grille who were eating and drinking. Could I get a sandwich to go after my eight hour trip? No...sorry for your luck customer. We're bored and closing the kitchen early. Oh well...on to the room. Good grief...Housekeeping needs attention. Mold, mildew and grime in the bathroom...dusty lamp shades...fingerprints on the nightstand. I'm too tired. I set my concerns aside and get ready for bed. The bed is comfortable and I get some sleep despite the hunger. The next morning, I find a breakfast buffet that was nothing to write home about, but the coffee and service were fantastic. Unfortunately, two days later during a busy, meeting filled day I discover there is no lunch service. I am told Hilton prohibits delivery of food since they reopened the kitchen. Understandable if the kitchen were actually OPEN for lunch service. Here's a cookie...Starbucks is down the walkway. Sorry for your luck. The sum of my experience at the Hilton Doubletree Evansville ranks up there as one of the worst hospitality experiences I have ever had. Cleanliness is an opportunity, the "full-service" value is not there. Worst of all there is a visible undercurrent of "don't give a damn." Stayed in a room that still had dirty towels from the previous occupant. Then, after a night out celebrating my birthday, my key card failed to open my door, twice. After two trips down to the front desk we had to wait for maintenance to come and fix the door and let us in. I slept great, beds are big and comfy, large shower. The restaurant and service was fantastic. The pool is OUTSIDE though so in cold weather it's not happening (bummer) and also the shower water temp kept changing on us. That's annoying. It would go cold or burn you, and you would go to adjust it but it would change before you could. Not a fan, also the tub drain was finicky so trying to get it to keep bath water in was a challenge. Other than that the location was perfect as we spent all our time at the arena for the circus. The staff was great and facilities are awesome. Wish they had a microwave in the room but they have one everyone can use in their downstairs market. read more

What a great location to attend activities at the Ford Center with a skywalk that attaches to the Ford Center. The staff has been so helpful and friendly from the front desk, housekeeping to the bar staff. The hotel is located in a convenient spot with parking attached to the back with a nightly fee of $15 which is economical. They keep it clean from the front door through your room all the way out the back door. GREAT JOB DT.. read more

stayed for a day due to the only testing center available to take my exam. The atmosphere was nice and friendly, except i pay for late checkout and mistakenly forgot my fire stick tv and remote... my test was four hours long and once i noticed i forgot it, i called the hotel... of course they take my name down and things and give me the number that was for the general manager ( main hotel phone number) so i can reach contact with him. However, i don't see as to why housekeeping didn't return my fire stick tv and remote to the lost and found... even went to the hotel in person and still couldn't find my fire stick and remote now i'm over 2 hours away without my firestick and remote. It's crazy that people steal things that are high dollar... we'll have fun watching tv... on a locked firestick. read more

Room was very comfortable and clean. Nice roomy bathroom and our 5th floor room had an awesome high ceiling. Bed was very comfortable. Lots of table lamps yet still dim at night. Be careful around the room doors, super heavy and powerful closing mechanics. Could easily smash fingers. Decor in common area was very pretty and festive heading to holidays. Choc chip cookies at check in are always appreciated and they are warm. The lobby bar has surprisingly good food, and the bartenders are super friendly if you decide to turn your happy hour into an all-evening event.. like I did.. (shrugs) Starbucks in the lobby is too convenient for the morning after your all-evening event... :) Walls are PAPER thin, and there is literally no soundproofing between floors. However, if you follow my suit, and have several glasses of wine such as I did.... then you can sleep through anything! (grins!) read more

4/5 for the classiness and cleanliness of the hotel. Staff was friendly and the famous chocolate chip cookies upon check-in didn't disappoint. Staff did seem stingy about giving out the cookies, as another couple we were spending the weekend with didn't get cookies upon check-in and they had to ask for them as we were departing for the casino. I think staff thought we were trying to get more cookies than we were supposed to. Covered garage parking. Your parking gets validated upon checking out. Nice location. Nice bar and dining areas. Free shuttle to and from the casino. Driver was very friendly. As far as sleeping was concerned; I brought along a white noise machine because of previous reviews. I'm so glad I did. I would have gotten zero sleep had it not been for that thing. At about 11pm I heard way too much from my neighbors (if you know what I mean), but I couldn't figure out if the noise was coming from the room next door or from floor 5 above us. 3.5 stars This is a tough one, as the Doubletree could easily be a 5 star hotel, but they went cheap in a few areas. PROS: -Great location, and connected to the new Ford Arena. -Free Shuttle service -Reasonably priced garage (self park) parking at $12 a night -Very nice, modern lobby, and common areas -A good enough workout room, with free weights, and treadmills -The outdoor pool looked nice, and I when I return in the obnoxiously humid southern Indiana summer months, I will check it out -A full service bar -On site restaurant -Comfy bed CONS: -Albeit modern and cool, this is a cheaply built hotel, in my opinion -Noisy. Seriously, you can hear everything in the neighboring rooms / hallways -The floors. I felt like I was going to crash into the room below me (Cheaply built?) -The fixtures- again, albeit modern, seemed very cheap -Pillows. The bed was super comfy, but the pillows were some of the worst I've ever rested my head on. Please correct this. -Common areas, and gym, need housekeeping attention My advice- I'd definitely recommend staying here, but I would only do so, if you can snag a reasonable rate. read more

At first was very excited to find a hotel big enough to be liveable. With the living room/kitchen area and a whole room for the bed with a freaking door separating the two. Blew my mind . But as my stay goes on I start to see the troubles here. The room is fair on certain check points. what ever I can manage. But the owner. He makes it a deal breaker. Spent three nights in Room 420 last week. We arrived home on Sunday and on Monday afternoon, my neck was itching really bad. I went to scratch my neck and felt a bunch of bumps. When I looked in the mirror, I had a bunch of bites on my neckline. I immediately removed my cardigan (which I used as a coat all weekend) to get a closer look and a bed bug crawled out of the collar. I immediately checked my pillow that I had brought with me to the hotel and found another hidden in the corner of the pillow case. It is four days later and more bites have appeared and itch badly. It goes to show you need to ALWAYS check the bedding in hotels and spray Lysol upon check-in. I did not check because the room seemed extremely clean. I am now worried that these may have spread to the rest of my home as I didn't notice for 24 hours. Heebie Jeebies for sure. Waiting to see if even more pop up since a call to my doctor informed me these bites can show up for up to 14 days. read more

We were so disappointed with the Doubletree in Evansville. We thought it was dirty. We were there two nights. The mirror had not been cleaned. Icky stuff running down the mirror, there was mold in the shower and the hallway looked like it hadn't been swept, since Covid started. The sink was stopped up. We told the front desk, in the morning and nothing was done. Later, we told another person at the front desk. It was taken care. When we checked out the clerk didn't ask how our stay was. So disappointing. Both mornings it was the same clerk. There were three people standing, at the desk. It appeared they were have a party. They were very unprofessional. When I checked in, front desk staff was fine. Got to my room, appeared ok. Went into bathroom to find dirty floor that had obviously not been swept or mopped. Hairs on floor. Looked into shower to find orange mildew stains in corners and again, hairs in floor in shower. When using phone to call front desk, found popcorn kernels in desk chair. I called the front desk to see if I could change rooms bc this one was dirty, they said absolutely. They even told me that for the inconvenience, h could have free breakfast in the restaurant, great. All I had to do was give them to name. Got a new room and all seemed well. I decided to order room service bc I was exhausted at this point and didn't feel like going out. Called to order to find out that I had an outdated menu in my room and they didn't have the things I wanted. They came and brought me an updated menu- fine. Well, they didn't have the dessert I ordered thawed- so had to substitute. Food came in about an hour. Fine. Next day I leave room for work- but stop at restaurant to get my free breakfast. My name wasn't on the list. At this point I'm annoyed and just ask for a coffee to go. I come back later around 5:30pm to my room looking just as I left it. Unmade bed, trash not removed. Called front desk- they apologized and brought me new towels. Also inform me that there is a new cleaning crew and they would make sure this doesn't happen again. Next day, as I'm leaving for work, the housekeeper is in the room next to mine- surely my room will get cleaned today! Wrong- came back later that day around 7:30pm to yet again an untouched room by housekeeping. Didn't clean or refresh room again. By this point I'm so annoyed, I just get ready for bed and call it a day. This hotel has definitely not held up to Hilton standards and I'm very disappointed. For the amount of money spent here, I expect to have my room cleaned and an accurate room service menu. read more

I had a very pleasant stay for one night , Wonderful staff . I had received a voucher for breakfast. I was expecting to use for breakfast buffet and take some eggs ands juice back to my room . When I showed Desiree the breakfast waitress my voucher she gave me a hard time . Questioned me if it was legit. Obviously it was if the front desk gave it to me . She was very unprofessional and rude . Her attitude was uncalled for . I stay here every few months and I have never been treated this bad will never dine at this restaurant again. read more

In a race with Holiday Inn to the bottom. This DoubleTree, like others, where once a good choice for value, cleanliness and services. Those days are long behind us and now they are racing Holiday Inn to the bottom of the hotel chain cesspools. This hotel has old furniture, lumpy beds, dusty rooms, not more than 100 watts total lighting per room and hot water that simply refuses to visit your room. WiFi is spotty as is the low quality and limited food choices (no lunch service and only bar or room delivery). The service staff is nice but exhausted and wished you were not there. read more

Stayed here for an event. Parking garage was easily accessible. The hotel was clean and looked up to date. The rooms were spacious and clean. There was a bar on site. Starbucks. Place to grab some food. All in all a good stay. I would stay here again. read more

This was our third stay at a Hilton property in Evansville and our first at this hotel. This is a newer property and in the downtown area. All the employees we encountered were very pleasant and accommodating. We rented a corner suite which was fairly spacious. One feature I didn't like is the bedroom is separated from the living area by a partial wall. There are no doors to totally close off the bedroom. We like totally separate rooms so if one of us sleeps in, we can watch TV and drink coffee without disturbing the other. I checked with the front desk and was told none of their suites have doors that totally close off the bedroom. Since this is a newer property, several energy saving devices have been built in to the room. While many may applaud the energy savings, I want to control lights and heat when I am paying the rent. The thermostat has a motion sensor. It's my belief when we turned off the lights and retired for the evening, the sensor went into some type of night mode. When we got up in the mornings, the room was very cool. But once we got up and started moving around, the heat came on and warmed up the room. Next the bathroom light contains a motion sensor. If you leave the bathroom for any time, the light turns itself off. Once again, if I'm paying the rent, I want to control how things work. My biggest complaint is the shower. We would set the water to our desired temp and start showering. All of a sudden, on it's own, the water would get extremely hot. We would dial back the hot water to make it bearable and a couple minutes later the water would turn frigid. It was a constant battle trying to keep the water temp at a comfortable level. I reported it to the house keeper right outside our door. She said she would report it. I never heard anymore about it so I'm guessing there is no easy fix. read more

Nice clean hotel in the downtown area. The prices are extremely reasonable and they had a shuttle that takes you around the hotel to other spots. We took it to the casino. It was an easy call to be picked up. The staff at the front desk were friendly and very fast. Check in was a breeze. The rooms were clean and well put together. Overall, great experience with a good staff. Best of all was the fresh baked cookie at check in.... yum. read more

Despite a Evansville mayor issued mandate on face coverings, this hotel refuses to do so much as put a sign up asking guests to wear masks in community areas - such as the tight confines of a elevator. Speaking to a line employee was useless, as the responses was an endless barrage of excuses. Hilton Corporate tried to reach a senior manager but my concerns weren't worthy of a response over the weekend. In town for the Eric Church concert. Hotel was clean, very. modern. Most impressed by the food. Had dinner Friday night before the show (pasta buffet) and EVERY single item was superb. Most impressed by the service and how hard the entire staff was working. . . including the food and beverage manager of the hotel who was hustling all night keeping the buffet stocked. So good we came back for breakfast the next morning. Guess what? Same servers were working . . and the food and beverage manager was hustling again keeping the buffet stocked. Every single thing we ate was delicious . . . not at all like typical hotel food. Just delish. Very modern clean comfortable hotel. Upon checking in, we were offered a warm chocolate chip cookie. This was no ordinary cookie it was more like a mini chocolate chip cake. It was made in their kitchen. There's even a picture of the cookie on their shuttle bus. Just passed check in, there's plenty of seating along the windows and there's a small bar in the corner by the elevators. Our room was several halls back but all new carpet and everything very clean and beachy looking. Our room was large with two king beds and very updated modern furniture. Lots of good storage and closet space. Has a refrigerator and lots of USB plugs. There's no overhead lighting, but there are several small lamps in the room. Beds were very comfortable as were pillows. read more
