The parking situation here is ridiculous as I had to climb through the back of my car just to get in it because the parking spaces are so small. There is no privacy whatsoever. I feel like I'm constantly being watched so my nosy neighbors can turn me in for something stupid. If you get a check on the 3rd of the month your rent will constantly be late with extra charges. And it is definitely over priced. My toilet constantly runs and my water bill stays high. Will prob break my lease after the baby is born it's that annoying to live here.

We were blindsided by over $500 worth move out charges. (As reference, my husband and I have been in apartments for the last 6 years, and have never paid more than a $50-75 in move out costs.) During the move out inspection, the Retreat Maintance told us no one moves out without at least $100 of costs. We were cited for not pulling the fridge out to clean behind, dust in the washing machiene detergent holder, and a speck of pepper in the microwave. They WILL find things to charge you for to keep your deposit, plus hundreds more. (Pics are screenshots from a video we took at move out inspection.)

Second red flag, I asked for a 6 month lease, the lease "says" 6 months on it, but it's a 7 month lease and they didn't know how to change it since it auto generates. Third red flag, rent amount total on lease was initially incorrect. Apartment wasn't cleaned on move in as I was told it would be. Was told that damages to apartment would be fixed before move in. They were not. In fact it took 3 months to get the damage addressed because they just close out maintenance requests without your knowledge. Had to put in multiple because it kept happening. Some was fixed some issues are still pending. Washer and dryer that you can rent was filthy when installed. When I asked to have it cleaned, they told me to clean it myself. The dryer was broken and smokey. When I complained, they came to my apartment when I wasn't home and plugged it back into the wall. I didn't trust they fixed it. One week later a different dryer appeared. I wasn't left ant communication they were working on replacing it. I'm glad they did because it would have caught on fire. But the lack of communication was dangerous leaving a broken dryer plugged in. I assumed they fixed it. When it gets cold there is a high pitched sound that amplifies in my bedroom. I have to sleep in my living room when that happens. I asked for maintenance or the manager to come listen to it, I was told they aren't going too and that it sounds like a personal problem not a maintenence issue. The valet trash I paid extra for was picked up about 8 of the 24 times it was scheduled the first couple months only after I called the office and complained. This place advertised social events. I've seen one where they handed out some candy on Halloween. I asked to break the lease a few times. I will not be renewing my lease. They turned their movie theater into a for rent conference room. Anything to make a buck. Do not rent here. Do not give them your hard earned money. They simply do the bare minimum to operate and lied toe to get me to sign a lease.

Bedroom is large enough to accommodate a king bed, desk, and 2 dressers. Detonated dining area is a bit small but acceptable. Appliances are not state of the art by any means; dishwasher is the worst leaving bits of foods of 60-70% of dishes. The walk in closets were not designed well so not a great selling point for them. Parking: Has never been a problem for residents or guests; always plentiful. Pool is nice- it's rarely crowded, clean, and open late. The gym is decent with a good mix of cardio and strength; could use heavier free weights. Movie theatre would be nicer if it was open later. For now, it is open during office hours and available for rental for $50. Management has attempted to host events and stay engaged with the tenants but it hasn't been too successful. I'm not into painting rocks with their logo. Area is pretty quiet, walking distance to The Summit at Fritz Farm and lotots of shopping nearby. Overall, this complex has been good and would prob stay here again if we weren't moving. Move out was routine; pay attention to all the items in the checklist. They will deduct for any lightbulbs.

I loved my 2 years at Park Place and I was sad to leave. It truly lives up to its name: it feels…read morelike you live in a park with all of the beautiful trees and landscaping. The property is well-kept and manicured. There are 2 pickleball courts and 1 tennis court, all in good shape. There is a gym with every piece of equipment you would want as well as a separate indoor mini-basketball court. I also love the pool area and there are plenty of tables and lounge chairs. Park Place also has an Amazon locker which I loved. (And not just Amazon packages arrived in them) The apartment interiors may not be as modern or as up-to-date as newer apartments in the area, but when I moved in, everything was clean and newly painted. All of the kitchen appliances are new as of a few months ago, which was a nice upgrade! And lastly, if you prefer a quieter setting, get on the waiting list for one of the buildings off of Tates Creek/Man-O-War. These roads are very busy and I was happy to have one of the units in the back of the property for less road traffic noise. I was on a waiting list for that one for about 4 months though, so keep that in mind if you want to be more picky with which apartment you want within the property! I would recommend living here to anyone living in Lexington!

I've lived here for four years and had trouble with my a/c unit on and off the whole time. The…read morelatest issue started this week, and is basically the same issue I've had in past warm months. The a/c will suddenly stop running -- it won't kick on even if the indoor temperature rises above the thermostat setting. When I had this problem two years ago, it took about ten days during the height of summer for the maintenance staff to sort it out, and actually it was their HVAC contractor who resolved the issue. This week, the problem began recurring. It took two phone calls and an online request to get anyone to respond. The kid who showed up replaced my thermostat and declared the issue resolved. Within 3-4 hours, the problem recurred. I put in another request and a different, older gentleman, showed up. He examined the wiring on the outside unit and found a frayed wire, which he patched with electrical tape. The a/c started working, and a couple of hours later, with the thermostat set to 67, I went to bed. I woke up at 2:30 drenched in sweat, the a/c not running, and the indoor temperature reading 75. I put in another maintenance request. This morning, the kid came back and suggested that the issue was my unfamiliarity with the new "smart" thermostat-- i.e., I'm a middle-aged woman and therefore too stupid to know how to operate it. I explained that the air conditioner had had the same problem with the old thermostat. He reluctantly offered to call their HVAC contractor and ask him to check it out. I said I would appreciate it. On his way out, Young Maintenance Guy again tried to blame the situation on my lack of understanding of the new technology. I said sarcastically, "Or maybe it's just in my imagination." And he replied, "Maybe it is." I wrote a review detailing these facts on Apartments.com, but that review has been taken down, and within hours of posting. I'm not a squeaky wheel. My front room blinds have been broken for over a year, my bathroom sink has such a slow tap that I have to pour a bottle of drain cleaner down it every three months, and three lights (four if you include the porch light) are out of order. I haven't put in maintenance requests for any of these things. All I want is a functioning air conditioner in the summer. Apparently, I'm too needy. As for the Apartments.com review that was removed, I'm attaching a screenshot.

Nice balconies, and parking was always at least tolerable (but beware, they do tow regularly, and the guest parking spaces are not well marked, I got towed once and had to pay $160 to get my car back because what I thought was a guest parking spot, wasn't.) My best friend lived in this complex for 3 years, and I had several other friends that lived here for a couple of years or so. First, the big problem is that it's under relatively new management. When management changed, one of the first things they did was to spike the rent way up on all lease renewals and new leases. This is when my friend decided to move. . .and all my other friends that were living there because it was a decent 2 BR/1 BA apartment for a good price, and suddenly the rent was skyrocketing. I guess the new property management company decided that they could get more money out of the place with higher rent. At the same time, my friends that lived there all reported that maintenance got worse and customer service in the leasing office went downhill. My wife and me tried to rent there, but we were refused. You see, a prior landlord had filed an eviction suit against me in error several years previously (they had got papers mixed up and meant to file on another tenant), the suit was quickly dropped. However, on a credit/background check, it will show that I had an eviction filed against me. That red-flagged me. Well, I thought I could just explain it. The suit was dropped, I had always paid my rent, and it was all a huge mistake (and not my mistake). They didn't care. They said their corporate policy was that anybody who had ever had an eviction filed against them (presumably in the last 7 years, because under the FCRA that's only as far back as they can go) they can't rent to, no matter what, even if the suit was dismissed or ruled in the tenants favor. Yeah. So their inflexible corporate policies kept us from renting there. In retrospect it was probably for the best.
