Blue Gallery was founded 14 years ago by owner Rami Rotkopf who grew up in the family art business in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 2017 they expanded into the 5,000 square foot location next door. Inside Blue Gallery is room after room of modern art, ceramics, sculptures, etchings, paintings stretching down Atlantic Ave. Some of the 31 world famous artists represented in the Blue Gallery collection include David Schluss, Red Head, Patrick Pease, David D'Or, Ron Agam, Niso Maman, Avi Ram, Benda, Neil Loeb, and Lior Ron. So thought this was one of those crazy overpriced art galleries and took a peek inside. The employee or owner was outside on her phone so we took a self guided tour of the exhibits which were mainly wall art and purses by an unknown artist to me named Debilzan. The assuming original art work was colorful and intriguing, one priced high at $11k, but the vibrant purses were shockingly only $700.00. So not sure if the purses were cheap versions of originals with cool art work by DeBilzan painted on them.

The galleries offer specials on work and artists have meet and greets. While eating lunch across the street I noticed the beautiful display windows of the Avalon Gallery so after I finished I had to come over and check them out. Avalon is owned by John M. Terry and Mavis L.R. Benson and they represent over 120 artists in the U.S. and Canada. The gallery is filled with beautiful artist blown glass in all price points. Glass is one of my favorite mediums so I enjoyed exploring all of the beautiful pieces. In addition to glass they also have jewelry, ceramics, lamps, furniture, and wall art. If you can't come to the gallery in person you can look at what they have available on their website but they don't sell on online. You have to contact them directly if you see something you want to purchase. They will also consult with you to find exactly what you want. You can really get the personal touch here. If you can visit I highly recommend it. You really need to see in person how these beautiful works of glass art capture the light.

The man working (I forget his name) was a great conversationalist, and very welcoming. He even took the time to show us a video of one of the unique processes used for one of the artists on display which was neat! It's not the largest but there is a lot to look at.
