Blue Gallery was founded 14 years ago by owner Rami Rotkopf who grew up in the family art business in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 2017 they expanded into the 5,000 square foot location next door. Inside Blue Gallery is room after room of modern art, ceramics, sculptures, etchings, paintings stretching down Atlantic Ave. Some of the 31 world famous artists represented in the Blue Gallery collection include David Schluss, Red Head, Patrick Pease, David D'Or, Ron Agam, Niso Maman, Avi Ram, Benda, Neil Loeb, and Lior Ron. Each time I stop in the wonderful art consultant, Richard Mauseth is there to show me around and better explain specific art work that I try to interpret. So thought this was one of those crazy overpriced art galleries and took a peek inside. The employee or owner was outside on her phone so we took a self guided tour of the exhibits which were mainly wall art and purses by an unknown artist to me named Debilzan. The assuming original art work was colorful and intriguing, one priced high at $11k, but the vibrant purses were shockingly only $700.00. So not sure if the purses were cheap versions of originals with cool art work by DeBilzan painted on them.

Avalon Gallery…read moreis a participant in Downtown Delray Beach First Friday Art Walk, which takes place October through May on the first Friday of the month from 6 to 9 PM. The galleries offer specials on work and artists have meet and greets. While eating lunch across the street I noticed the beautiful display windows of the Avalon Gallery so after I finished I had to come over and check them out. Avalon is owned by John M. Terry and Mavis L.R. Benson and they represent over 120 artists in the U.S. and Canada. The gallery is filled with beautiful artist blown glass in all price points. Glass is one of my favorite mediums so I enjoyed exploring all of the beautiful pieces. In addition to glass they also have jewelry, ceramics, lamps, furniture, and wall art. If you can't come to the gallery in person you can look at what they have available on their website but they don't sell on online. You have to contact them directly if you see something you want to purchase. They will also consult with you to find exactly what you want. You can really get the personal touch here. If you can visit I highly recommend it. You really need to see in person how these beautiful works of glass art capture the light.

I am not exactly an expert on art. two people can look at the same piece of artwork,one loves it…read moreone hates it.A wine tasting event in the courtyard brought my wife and I to the Heart of Delray gallery.The wine tasting was fantastic,light snacks,and a great selection of liquors were also available.My wife can handle a paintbrush,and appreciates art a little more than myself.That being said,we were both quite impressed with the artwork and layout of the gallery.We had pleasant conversations,with the artists that were still there.One in particular drew my interest,he did everything in pencil,some of his artwork included Stevie Ray Vaughn,and the Beatles.Pretty cool stuff.If your in the area,and like art ,even a little,you should stop in and walk around.I'm sure you will see plenty of art that you will like.You should also keep on eye out for future events held at the gallery.
