This is our go-to mechanic and we bring all our family vehicles to Double S. They are always friendly and manage to fit us in when something goes wrong. The work is quick and thorough and the prices fair. Being a female, it's sometimes hard to feel like you get treated fairly at a mechanic shop, but I have zero reservations when I set up service with John and the guys. They listen and do great work that lasts. We have brought them big and small trucks, jeeps, and even our small, commuter car and the work is always solid. They are also great for smog, tires, and ac charges. Big or small jobs, I trust these guys and while I hope to not have to see them often, it's great to know I have such reliable service in town. read more

Double S was recommended to us when our diesel truck (towing a boat!!!) quit... no clicking, no clacking....nothing. AAA had to tow us from Burney and Double S was the recommended shop. John and crew are so conscientious and honest. They ran codes, they talked to us, they kept us informed (even though we were not easy to reach) and they fixed our truck. Their price was more than fair; their service was super and their courtesy was better. I do wish I were closer to their shop as I would take our truck there regularly. They are great. Car trouble while working out of town on forest service roads...limped on to pavement, called AAA... was at their mercy for recommended auto shop. Double S did not disappoint, in fact not only did they rearrange a busy schedule and work after hours on a friday so i could go home on time, but they picked me up from my hotel in my car. Now that said, I could just be giving a good review for courtesy, but no! The price was very reasonable and service was nice but I still waited a week, driving more than 500 miles and my car runs perfectly. My husband and I stumbled into Double S Automotive with a mechanical boat repair in the hopes of saving our family vacation. John Pineda was comforting, calm, and felt like a friend I'd had for years. He fixed our boat in less than a day, and honestly, the surf plate reattachment repair he did looks better than the one that came from the factory. He explained the repair in detail, showed us what he did to fix it, and we were on our way. John is our hero. Sisters and I returned from a trip to find our Idaho sister's car would not start. AAA delivered it to Double S Automotive around noon. John squeezed it into a very busy schedule, after the fire evacuation and power out to the valley for three days. He called by 8:30 the next morning, and our sister was on her way back to Boise, her job, and babysitting grandchildren. He had to replace her starter. She just texted that she is almost home. Phenomenal...The brakes on my Ford Expedition did not sound good and I had a several hundred mile drive in front of me to get back home. I went into the Double S, they immediately looked at it, diagnosed the problem and had me back on the road within a couple of hours. They also had a great recommendation for a lunch spot. I'm not from this area and wasn't sure where to get my oil changed. I went here by chance and while there mentioned my trunk wouldn't stay open. Jim and Susie came highly recommended when we first arrived in the Fall River Valley several years ago. As we have gotten acquainted, I have come to trust their integrity and honesty, even at times when some repairs have required more work than we anticipated. If you've ever had to chase down an electrical short, you know that it can be at best frustrating, and sometimes you'll hear that it's impossible. But when a mechanic's employee makes it their personal mission to find and fix that short, it speaks well of the employers who set such a high standard on getting the job done, and done right. That they chose not to bill us for nearly so many hours as it took speaks well of their commitment to long-term happy clients. We drive high-mileage used vehicles exclusively. As a result, we know that we will sometimes invest heavily in repairs and maintenance.
