So, after shopping and pricing around, I settled on Lawrence Trailer sales in Fredericksburg. They didn't have what I wanted in stock, but the owner ordered one from the manufacturer and said it would take less than two weeks to get it delivered, which was fine. After I paid for my trailer, he let me use another trailer on the lot which was similar to the one I ordered, until mine came in. I thought that was pretty cool. He also made sure that I had the right hitch and light hookup. Note: Yelp has the address wrong on this place. It's actually on Highway 290 East right before the Luckenbach turnoff.

My wife and I were passing through the San Antonio area last year on a trip from Oregon. We were…read moregoing to be there for a few days, so I had an opportunity to do a mid-trip inspection on our travel trailer. I was shocked to find that a couple of the spring shackles were worn to the point of imminent failure (five year old trailer). There's no way we would have made it back home without an immediate repair. We made contact with a trailer outfit in New Braunfels - the owner took a look at our issue and thought he could fix it. He said to bring it in the next morning. When we showed up, the owner wasn't there. We waited for about 45 minutes - when he did finally arrive, his story changed completely - he said he couldn't help us, and that "we'd be fine to make it home." Desperate, we made about 10 phone calls before we happened onto Brian at Specialty. We brought the trailer by, and he said he could probably deal with it the following morning "if his guys showed up." Sure enough, I called him first thing, and he said to bring it by. Backed it right into his shop, and an hour and a half later, all of the spring shackles were replaced and we were ready to roll. Gave us great peace of mind for the rest of the trip. It's really hard to find vendors like this nowadays. No one else could or would help us. His guys did a great job, and the price was amazingly reasonable, considering it was somewhat of an emergency. Tech said it would take about to 2 hrs to install and then the parts guy (Aaron) chimmed in and said "oh I am thinking more like 4-5 hrs. Since when does a "parts guy" dictate how long to install something. At $90 an hour the "upselling" started. Then he, the parts guy wasn't even sure if the part he was going to order would be the right part? really.....oh and asked if they offered a miitary discount and his response " I will thank you for your service and shake your hand" it wasn't so much what he said as a no would have sufficed but it was how he said it....with a sheepish grin. Obviously someone who has never served.
