Broken jacuzzi, freezing pool, not kid friendly, terrible communication and very rude staff. We went today to use the pool and jacuzzi. We called beforehand to make sure toddlers were allowed and were told that kids may use the facilities. We drove 35+ minutes there, paid for our entire family to have access only to find that the jacuzzi was closed, the pool was freezing and they don't allow kids in the locker room (even just to shower.) The staff was rude, unreasonable and quite frankly, deceitful. When I pointed out that we called ahead AND paid thinking all the amenities were available to kids and the only thing my daughter could do was get in the freezing cold pool, they said "we heat the pool to an ideal temperature of 64 degrees." SIXTY FOUR!? Ideal for who??? Polar bears???? It's an indoor pool. It should not be hard to maintain a reasonably warm temperature. Meanwhile, it's snowing outside and people are looking for a nice, warm indoor activity. When someone else walked up to the desk to ask if they could turn the pool temperature up, they said "no." Super disappointing and very expensive morning for our family. The only pleasant thing I can say is that they refunded me for myself and my daughter. The rest of our family took what ended up being a really expensive shower in the locker room since nothing else was available. read more

Came to town and the boyfriend had plans to snowboard for a day so naturally I got on Yelp and stumbled upon this so lovely spa located inside snow creek athletic club. The staff made my experience so delightful. Kayleen, who is in charge of scheduling at this spa was so accommodating and helpful. She rearranged the schedule to fit mine and even got me in for a facial with a new line of products(GM Collins) that they were advertising online but had not yet launched. She really made my trip to this spa so memorable and because of her I will be returning. Ellie, the esthetician was so knowledgeable of the products and she was so caring while performing my facial since the facial I had done is a little difficult for someone like me who is claustrophobic. I love double eagle in June lake and went there and brought all my out of town friends there for years. This year my husband booked my birthday massage for me and my friend, but he did it at mammoth location. I had no idea there were two locations and mistakenly showed up in June lake like always.... Girls at June lake failed to mention that there is a second location. After I realized I made a mistake and tried calling to sort it out they already charged my card $377 plus tip for missing an appointment. I realize I made a mistake, but customer service was so horrible. No accommodations whatsoever. Being a double eagle client for years, they chose $377 over a loyal customer and all the friends that I brought there.. My business is going out of town. read more

A 3 star is the average for the afternoon. The front desk girl was a 2-3, lackluster walk thought, clearly an hourly job, walked by a dozen dirty towels/robes laying around and did not scoop up one after showing me my locker. The "not my job" generation. Good gym but a lot of out of order equipment. My masseuse was 5+, I'd go back for Morgan who is a true professional again. Great 80 minute massage. The facility as a whole has 5 star potential even though it is older but the wad of gum in the shower, the same dozen towels plus new ones still laying around after my massage makes it feel like a YMCA. I forgot to ask the price but $150 is fine is you have a Four Seasons like facility but the Double Eagle isn't there. They could be with motivated employees or if I was the GM perhaps . read more

Was visiting the Mammoth Lakes area during October, so I know this is a shoulder season and not representative of how busy it can get, but I booked a massage for a Saturday afternoon and basically had the spa facilities to myself! The outdoor pool was closed for the season but there is a women's only indoor hot tub and steam room, and then there's a larger co-ed hot tub and 3 lane lap pool. 4 showers in the women's locker room with shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Everything was very clean. My massage with Justin was wonderful and he gave me some great suggestions on what to see in the area. Definitely worth the money. I will be back next time I'm visiting. read more

My favorite spa in the eastern sierras! Went here twice in the last week trying to rinse off that dirty camper smell and the aches and pains of hiking ten miles a day. Their steam room and the eucalyptus spray is excellent and I adore all their hair/ skin and beauty products. Ready to relax in Mammoth and be pampered? Head to the spa at the athletic club. We checked in about 2 hours early for our services, and we received a key to a locker, which contained a robe, towels, and sandals. During the time prior to our service, we were free to use any athletic club facilities, and we took advantage of the showers, sauna, and hot tub. The showers were less than clean, and the hot tub was luke warm at best. However, the services were top notch. I had a manicure, at reasonable price, and my friend had "the best massage ever". I needed a day of relaxation and healing, and I came to the right place. Had a facial and massage-- both were wonderful. Justin is an outstanding massage therapist who works those sore areas with smooth, powerful, and effective strokes. One of the best massages I've had. The sauna and hot tub were very clean and the perfect temperature. The locker rooms are nice. Any service also comes with day access to the workout rooms and classes. That's a nice touch! Saw horrid reviews for local spas/massages. Wasn't expecting much and was totally surprised by cute little spa that's well taken care of. My masseuse (erin) gave one of the best massages I've ever had and it's the best deal on the mountain. You get access to gym, whirl pool and steam room with purchase of services. The locker room steam room/whirl pools were not on good shape. But the spa was really good and outweighs the negatives of the surrounding areas. Plus you can get a workout in in a town with no national gyms. I'll be back on future trips read more
