I've been wanting to get my nose pierced for a long time. I called another tattoo shop, they told me their piercer was working and when I arrived they told me he went home for the day. So I took my business elsewhere. I'm convinced that it was meant to be because I ended up coming to Double Cross and Izzy is so talented and easy to talk to. You pay separately for the piercing and the jewelry. It's in a strip plaza next to a bakery. There is a semi private room in the back where the piercings are done. It takes about 20 minutes for her to set up for the procedure but once you're in the room it takes no more than 10 minutes. She made sure I was comfortable by doing a couple of deep breathing exercises before she pierced my nose. She really understands that it can be nerve racking. I can't wait to come back and get more piercings and you should too! read more

My daughter and I were in town for a college preview this weekend and thought we'd celebrate her becoming an NSU Shark with cartoon shark tattoos. Peter was ready to help us bring our idea into reality. He took our inspiration pictures and got us in and out in less than 2 hours without sacrificing anything in quality. His line work is clean, and color looks fantastic. I'm glad we found him, because when my daughter is at college she now has a great place to go! read more

I contacted Emily the piercer at this tattoo studio the night before I went to get a jewelry fixed and two conch piercings and she easily told me her availability for the next day! I walked in and was in and out within an hour. She's absolutely informative and great at what she does - she made me feel so comfortable and made sure everything was precise and looking okay before and after piercing my ears. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone interested in piercings of all kinds in the Davie area. The tattoo shop itself is definitely a vibe - clean, dope & comfy. Will look into tats in future here as well as more piercings with Em! read more

Loved izzy, super friendly and was very knowledgeable about the jewelry and piercing procedure. I cant wait to come back!!!

I got my middle brow (clown brow) eyebrows pierced and my nipples repierced by Emily and she was so kind. she marked my piercings and made sure I was okay with them before we continued and had such a positive attitude the whole time. she did an exceptional job of making sure I was okay with the placing and making sure I was ready before piercing. she's very precise with her markings and very comforting. I even got to ask her questions that didn't pertain to my piercings I was getting and she happily answered them. Emily did an amazing job making sure I got exactly what I wanted and i'm so glad I ended up coming here. I don't feel basically ANY pain from my piercings and they're already doing so well, no irritation or redness whatsoever. I usually bleed when I get pierced but I didn't bleed at all on my eyebrows and my nipples bled maybe half a drop. I am seriously just in shock at how well these piercings were done!!!! I will definitely be coming back to Emily for any of my piercings!!!! read more

Well...I've been going here for 3 years and all my experiences have been pretty good. Jeff is a great piercer and he's very experienced. I never felt much pain with him at all with his piercings. And I will always recommend him for piercings. Josh Is also a great artist and I love his mandala work, but recently we got into a argument about the deposit agreement. In my opinion I didn't believe a peony tattoo that only takes 3 hours should be more than $500. The deposit agreement I feel is absolutely ridiculous. This is because if you change your mind on a tattoo, you cannot change the design more than 72 hours before the appointment. So if you are not 100% sure on your tattoo design, you lost your money and you are screwed. I lost $140 because I made a deposit on a peony tattoo because I got it done at another shop called Visionary Ink in Fort Lauderdale for around $300. I would never go here again because of this read more

I waited 17 years to get my first tattoo, at 35 I am probably not the typical tattoo client. I painstakingly stalked the local tattoo shops for the right artist for the last few months, thanks to Instagram I stumbled upon Rafael Fuentes & am so grateful I did. His communication is quick & conversational, he's very down to earth. His IG page as a portfolio speaks for itself. He is the epitome of a professional. I met with him to go over my design, his excitement and passion for his craft is very evident. I got my first tattoo, on November 26th. I was hesitant and nervous about the pain and the commitment. He firmly, and politely discouraged me from making it any smaller, despite my concerns. I cite this because I'm really grateful he did. He's a professional, that's what I am paying him for, his expertise. And while I LOVE the artwork, he was totally right, I do wish it was even larger. Trust him. It didn't hurt at all, and took only two hours. I was elated. I scheduled my next tattoo within the week. I got it on 12/10. I'm even more overjoyed about this one, it took 6 hours and was worth the time, thanks to his talent. He used saniderm on both, and gave clear instructions on how to take care of them. They are both healing swiftly. In the last few years I can't think of something that has made me happier than these tattoos. I cannot recommend him enough. I have already referred several people. read more

Rude!!! Customer service should be the start to finish end game. The short guy with the gauges in his ear was utterly unprofessional and disrespectful. I've known and spent plenty money at Double Cross but at the older location on Broward Blvd. Thanks to how I was treated. I will never go here again. read more

My artist took his gloves off when he was going to wrap my tattoo and I had to ask him to put a new pair on and I got an excuse that "it's hard to open the saniderm with gloves on" before he put on a new pair.... PROFESSIONALISM AND SANITATION ISSUE!!! read more

I'm visiting from out of town and came Sunday afternoon to ask about getting a pretty big side piece redone after a few laser tattoo removal sessions. I talked to Neill who was professional, friendly, and entirely open to starting work that afternoon. We spent the 10+ hours over next three days relining two side pieces and coloring one of them in. I am incredibly happy with the work he did on me. Even the relining made a dramatic difference. He was knowledgeable, experienced, and made the entire process as simple and easy. The entire shop is full of great artists and piercers. Clean and open shop. I highly recommend Niell's work and look forward to the next time I come back to finish the color work on the larger piece. read more

i can't speak highly enuff of Eugene not only is he incredibly talented but his warm heart and patience are rare and so welcomed he did an amazing job of my tattoo especially being that it was a cover up for horrific scars I trusted him completely with helping me decide on what to choose and how and where it would cover the scars I will continue to use him as a matter of fact I will bring someone with me this week to get her tattoo from him read more

Came in for first tattoo after visiting a few other shops and just not feeling super comfortable. Rojas took our drawings and tattooed them perfectly on us. We had just lost our cat - and these tattoos had sentimental meaning. We walked out thrilled with the results. Not sure if I will get another, but if I do it will be with Rojas. read more

I messaged Double Cross Tattoo on Facebook the day before I headed down to Ft. Lauderdale (I'm from Boston) to see if I could get work done. They messaged me back immediately and told me to contact their traditional artist Danny since I wanted a death's head hawk moth in a neo traditional style. We spoke on the phone, made a plan, and he drew the tattoo up for me a couple hours later and texted it to me. When I got in, everyone at the shop was extremely accommodating and friendly to me and my friend who was traveling with me. Danny got started right away. He made the process as painless as it could be. He was good company and knocked out an amazing piece for me. My only regret is that I will have to come back down here to get more work done by him. The shop is immaculate and easy to find with parking readily available. It was a comforting environment to be in; not judgmental or uppity but laid back and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend Double Cross Tattoo to anyone. read more

Got a piercing by Jeff, the next day the top piece of the belly ring falls off and we had payed $20 extra for the "better quality" we call and Jeff answers the phone after we told him what happened his first response was "uhhh we are not responsible for what happens outside the store" instead of saying well come in and I'll take a look. After going back and fourth is when he said that. Cheap quality . I've never had a piercing fall off the NEXT day. read more

Got a tattoo today at Double Cross. Peter the artist worked with me to get the design just the way I liked it and he added some of his unique artistic talents. I came to this shop for a piercing as well as my two close friends receiving piercings, I got my naval pierced and initially I thought it was oddly placed, but brushed it off because I am a bigger girl and my friend who was smaller had hers looking normal. This is now 7 months later and the piercing NEVER healed and was in irritated and painful still. I went into a separate shop and asked the piercer for advice and was told the piercing was pushed so far back inside my belly button that it had no possibility of healing, and that my ONLY options were to take it out and re-pierce it else where once it heals, or to keep it in even though it will never heal. As well my other friend received a nostril piercing and it was placed so far forward she has to purchase extra small rings because normal ones won't fit her piercing. So now I threw away $75 including tip and 7 months, and will have to pay to get it pierced over again after another few months of healing. This post is in no way looking to slander this business, I see they have phenomenal reviews for tattoos, but my piercing experience was absolutely dreadful, and quite unacceptable. As well when I first received the piercing the ball wouldn't stay on at all and I ended up have to go back and have them push the barbel back through on the first day. read more

Three small tattoos, for three girls. We had scoured the internet, visited multiple shops and reviewed artist portfolios for 3 ridiculously small tattoos that had significance to us. We chose Esteban Mayor @mayortattoos and we are so glad we did! He treated us with great attention and care despite the size of the job. It was the very first tattoo for two of us. Cost was fair and reasonable. Shop was clean (gloves, single use kits, etc.). He gave us such a great experience that one of us will be coming back to get a bigger art piece completed. Another artist was so honest and gave helpful advice. Two of us came in with very specific criteria on the tattoo design and size and he was brutally honest and gave us alternative options to improve the look of the tattoo. This is a great team with a great vibe. Their customer base is diverse from what we saw the two times we went to visit, and the team has a blend of talents that compliment each other. I highly recommend checking their artists out if you are in the market for a tattoo. read more

Immediately upon meeting the owner, Peter Photelo and his staff, I felt super comfortable as they made me feel like I'm part of their family! I wanted a complicated piece done on my arm and was working on a budget to get it done! Peter went right to work on modifying my arm piece that looked even better than what I wanted and worked within my budget! Besides being super professional and clean (like, on every level), every one on his staff are incredibly talented and had really positive attitudes! It was really cool to see everyone smiling and legitimately enjoying being in their element! I am beyond happy with the finished product and have referred a ton of people to their shop who feel the same way after their work was done! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND making appointments which are necessary since this shop is full of incredibly talented artists! read more
