When trying to schedule an appointment my calls frequently go unanswered and voicemails unreturned. This led to a particularly irritating situation where I'd called to cancel an appointment, couldn't reach anyone, left a voicemail, and still received a no-show bill. Now I'm trying to switch dentists and am running into the same issues with the front desk staff while trying to get my husband and I's dental records. Dr. Ken is genuinely nice and seems to do quality work but it's not worth the hassle of dealing with his unresponsive front desk staff.

He was set up to take out all of my autistics son's teeth and make dentures. We did all the denture prep. When it was near f the time we had scheduled for the extractions none of the prep was done on his side. The cardiologist was not contacted as told would be done. The insurance issues were not addressed until last min. None of the clearance had been taken care of. My son had a massive heart attack 4 months earlier. At the last minute we did get scheduled with another dentist that took his insurance and knew exactly what to do. He was an oral surgeon. So, teeth were pulled. Dentures did NOT fit then and a yr and a half later. To this day that flop right out. I tried to comunicate by phone calls to Dr Judy without any response from him. I wrote a email and he never replied. He did not communicate with me at all. To this day my son has teeth that was paid for in full without insurance. The teeth are 100% useless. They literally flop out immediately after trying to glue in. During all this time my son does not participate at family dinners at someone's house or a restaurant. He is too embarrassed to take his teeth out and eat in front of others. He will go but just sits in conversation while others enjoy their meal. Once we get home he will sit down and eat. This issue has also made him gain at least 45lbs. He lives on noodle or rice dishes so he can gum the food. Due to his massive heart attack he can't keep carrying this weight. Being autistic through all of this has caused a LOT of mental breakdowns. Drastic change is not good at all. Dr Judy even said during his follow ups that another pair needed to be made. When someone pays out of pocket for a product they pay for a product that works. These DO NOT and can very easily be proven. Dr Judy needs to be professional about this and make it right.

I made my appointment a couple months in advance in order to accommodate schedules and so I appreciated the text reminders as the appointment drew near. My whole experience was an utter delight. I felt seen, heard, and taken care of. Everyone was so nice and approachable. They checked in with me often, told me what was happening, and gave helpful pointers. I ended up with a retainer and mouthguard which they were able to scan for in the office using a digital mouth scanner. I had flashbacks to the old putty trays and just appreciating that is no longer a practice. Billing transparency was clear. I ended paying a bit more due to my insurance not covering everything, but the office called me immediately upon learning. I really found the whole experience a vast improvement over my last two at other practices.

She and her staff are absolutely the best. She is kind, caring, professional, and talented. I have had some good and some horrible dental experiences in the past, and she is far and away the best dentist I have ever had. And my kids love her as well. All of her staff are the same, and everyone there tries to meet your needs more than I have ever experienced elsewhere. I shudder to think about looking for another dentist if we move far away, or if Dr. Bova retires. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Dr. Maruhashi is one of those people I hang onto for dear life. I have a super sensitive mouth and…read moresuper sensitive teeth, and I have been to dentist after dentist after dentist, all reputed to be gentle, in search of sensitive dental care. But those dentists have all tried to sell me on unnecessary dental work or had very unprofessional staff, and so I ended up giving Dr. Maruhashi a try based on a recommendation from a relative. I have now been with him for as long as I can remember, through his office move and various staff turnovers. He is truly the most gentle, professional, personable dentist that one could possibly imagine. He treats everyone as if they were his most important patient and his best friend. He explains things very thoroughly and never, ever tries to sell me on unnecessary work. He actually makes me look forward to going to the dentist, if one can imagine that. He takes great pains to hire only dental assistants and office staff who share his values, and he will even do without and go short handed rather than hire the wrong people. It shows. Each and every one of them has been consistently friendly and professional, and the whole place has a unique atmosphere of people genuinely liking and respecting each other. I keep hearing that good medical staff are hard to find, but this office is proof that it can be done. The customer is always right in their book - even in situations which I admittedly could have avoided by taking better care of my teeth. Dr. Maruhashi has also had to refer me out for dental surgery and root canals, and those referrals, too, have been completely up to par. I implicitly trust anyone he refers me to. As long as he is still working, I will never go to any other dentist, and I keep telling him that I hope he is grooming someone of his caliber to take over his practice if and when he retires. I have read the negative reviews posted here, and I cannot believe the authors are even writing about the same place. I have not had any experiences there that remotely resemble what they describe. I respect everyone's right to their own opinions, but truly, those reviews seem totally out of character, and I would urge prospective patients not to be deterred by them. I realize I am probably making it more difficult for myself to get an appointment by posting this review, but honestly, the world needs to understand how special this place is.

I called and made my first appointment and was there for nearly 2 hours as they do a VERY thorough intro exam. They did full mouth X-rays and photos of each individual tooth so they have records and can watch any changes etc. The hygienist staff were all lovely - and I think it's the nice added touch that they each try to fill and refill their water bottles (for when they shoot water in your mouth) with warm water as to not zing your teeth! I also have the added expense / benefit of being able to share my experience also with fillings and crowns :) Dr Strelow and team are so fun and easy going, they really make the experience as pleasant as possible. They communicate consistently about what is happening - but not in an annoying manner. You get to pick the movie they plug you into and then they get to work. When they are going to change what they are doing you get the heads up 'you're going to feel some pressure here' or 'pinch coming' 'keep breathing' - and they are very responsive when you note that the anesthesia is wearing off. Dr Strelow quickly tops you off and then they get back to work. I did start going during Covid, and am very pleased with their precautions. You call upon arriving and then sit in your car until they call you back. They only have 1 person in the entryway at once. You are brought in, temp checked, hand sanitizer, then walked back to your chair. They have a new mouthwash thing which actually tastes nice and minty ;) they have air purifiers going and are doing everything they can to keep you and them safe while climbing into your mouth. If you're looking for a great dentistry team that is thorough and kind - this is your office!

Renovation was due for the last 10-15 years.). Some of the dental work was fine, however, some of my concerns and questions were actively ignored by the doctor. The administrative staff is very friendly and professional, payment options are limited (charging fees for debit card use, only taking checks without extra processing fees). Overall - stay away, there are better dental places that are run by professional doctors with a customer-friendly attitude.

I recently had a horrible crown procedure at this clinic where the doctor could not effectively…read morenumb the area of the tooth. At the first appointment, it took multiple (5-6) injections - never had that many before. I experienced discomfort and pain for about a week after this first appointment, which I heard is abnormal for this sort of procedure. Then when the doctor could not successfully apply local anesthesia, yet again, at the crown fitting, he just went ahead with the procedure even after I told him and his assistant multiple times that I still felt pain. While anesthesia is not always required for this procedure, I specifically shared with the team that I wanted to be numbed due to my pain tolerance and teeth sensitivity. When I kept squirming in the chair and groaning, the doctor remarked, "Oh, you really feel the pain?" as if I'd been faking it all along. After this experience, my partner and I decided to look for a new dentist - someone who actually cares about his patients.

Sixth months of pain thanks to this office's negligence…read more Going to this dentist resulting in me probably needing a root canal. I came in to get some simple fillings done, and I'm now saddled with hundreds of dollars of bills, to pay for procedures that screwed up my teeth. The doctors left (with full knowledge) overhangs on both of my fillings. This means that whenever I flossed, the floss would catch on the fillings and pull on them. The dentist informed me that this was normal and I would just need to pull through my floss for the rest of my life. After a month of pain, I went back to ask why the fillings still hurt. They took x-rays, shaved one of them down a little bit, and told me the other was fine and I should go home. I developed hot and cold sensitivity. I finally visited another dentist with 30+ years experience. I've now learned that purposely leaving overhangs on fillings is absolutely not normal, and that what they've done is careless at best. I saw the x-rays myself this time, and you can clearly see the sharp, jagged overhang's that were left after the fillings were put in. I've also learned that One of the filling simply broke because of the way that they left the overhangs. Until I've had over $700 in dentistry bills, and six months of dismissed pain. I know I will likely need a root canal in one of the teeth, and I needed to get both fillings replaced. This place looks great on the outside. The customer service is excellent. However, I would caution anyone against blindly trusting that this office knows what they're doing.
