Service was impeccable Kids however, used to "european" version of italian cuisine were a little bit disappointed. We adults loved typical Padovan dishes Off the bitten tracks, short menu - welcome where no tourists visit read more

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. AMAZING I SAY!…read more Gian's parents decided to bring us for a major feast before we headed back to Glasgow and what did they choose for us? Meat. Lots of meat. MEAT!!! Da Giovanni is a traditional family restaurant that's been in Padova for years! So the way this place works is, you go there, they serve you your first course, then bring you trolleys of all the meat cooked by roasting or by boiling, trolleys of vegetables and then trolleys of dessert. Yes, TROLLEYS. And then you can choose what you wanna try from all the delicious choices given to you! So, for the first course, I had handmade tagliatelle with pomodoro sauce and funghi (there are 5 sauces and all of them are handmade daily and brought to you on a tray so you can choose which you want with your pasta). I LOVE tagliatelle! It's my fav! So this pasta was a win for me! Main course, boiled or roasted meat with vege. There are all kinds of meat and cuts for you to choose from! For boiled, you hve like cow tongue, brain, leg, some pork and stuff while the roast, they have turkey, chicken, lamb bla bla you get it, it's ALL MEAT. I went for roast with some brocolli, zucchini and pepper (veges also come in huge trays on trolleys for you to choose from). It was so filling omg. Delicious like crazy but man, you'll explode at the end of the meal! Desserts were cooked on the day; they had 4 different types of cakes/pies, caramelised pears and then some fruits that were soaked in spirits lol. I dunno what to say guys. I loved it so much. It was such a nice experience with the family and the environment was so wonderful! How can describe it ... Authentic? Quick and witty Italian elderly people serving up amazing food and making jokes! I loved it so much! Highly recommend!

It specialises in roast and boiled meats which are wheeled around on trolleys and carved for you at the table. It's a bit of a vegetarians' nightmare, but that does not rouble me. Home made pasta, gnocchi for starters like you have never tasted before. Great beers. An enormous dessert trolley. Extremely friendly service. A favourite place for locals and their families

Food was amazing, I couldn't read the menu or understand a thing, but mine was phenomenal - mini meatballs and some sort of local pasta that looked like little thumb sized saucers.
