I am a solo traveler so safety, quality pr9fessional care are priorities Needed an emergency appointment with English speaking, gentle, more holistic dentist that was accessible , safe and could get me in quickly. Plus? I have very low pain tolerance and usually require nitrous even for routine treatments. So needed someone who could be patient and respect that , with a gentle touch. Healthy Smiles reviews looked promising. Their site offered easy intake, assessment. I got an appointment that afternoon. It is a long established practice in a classic Rome building in lovely neighborhood. Very safe, cozy, comfortable. Dr Nuri was patient but firm. Actually listened but also gave me much education, on what was happening including impact of oxidative stress , former treatments. Her brother, Dr Paolo was able to offer 2nd opinion right away on need for dental surgery and saving teeth. Nitrous is not easily available in Italy - requires an actual anestgesioligist!!!! Noting my panic, so she assured me I could survive and do well. And worked with me on my using relaxation, breathwork, distraction with music , along with the novocain Gave the gentlest shots ever! Things were more complicated than planned so it took a few hours but they stayed past business hours and fixed everything beautifully. Even proactively followed up to be sure I am ok. Who does that???? I thought it would surely cost a fortune but was amazingly reasonable. 70% less than US for far better work. I may vacay in Italy every year just for dental care now. Highly recommend! And

Dr. Maltese has them beaten hands-down. He has the latest equipment, the most professional and polite staff. They are extremely busy but always offer their patient a cup of refreshment. The first day I was there a recognizable politician walked in and a beautiful actress. I was treated with the same respect as these celebrities. Beyond, the expert care, Dr. Maltese and his staff are English-speaking. I am very careful about the care of my teeth.

He speaks good English and told us to come right over, a 10 minute walk from Saint Peters square. A fantastic man, he and his assistants were very thorough and professional. Her fears were put to rest as no cause of the pain could be found in either the crowns or the teeth. X-Rays were negative. Pain meds were Rx to last until we return to the USA.
