Chip truck cherry popped. Poutine pro here I come. I've never felt more like a Canadian road trip hamlet hopper more than I did when we stopped here. Off a country road, across from the general store at the single stop sign town of Castleton, this one man trailer means Fresh Cut when they say it. Picnic tables & umbrellas, standard drinks, and then a much larger menu then I expected. Pierogies to fish & chips to peameal bacon & burgers. Newfie fries & poutine. Always poutine. I'm hooked. It's such a gluttonous box of joy. It's priced at $6.50 & it's size matches. No need to remain city boy hasty here, relax, recognize the neighbor's pugs & hounds in the pastor. If I ever drove from Cobourg to Warkworth or anywhere winding East from Toronto, this fresh cut chip truck is a must stop. read more
