Dorrs is definitely our store of choice when we buy alcohol. We rarely go to Walsh's Liquor because the prices at Dorrs are cheaper, and they offer just as good a selection of beer, wine, and liquor. I have to disagree with the poster who complained about the customer service. We never had any problems with the staff that actually come across as usually quite friendly. read more

They are awesome. Good selection and very helpful. The staff are super nice and extremely helpful

Since my husband and I moved to the area we've only shopped here! First impressions were great! Always great recommendations!

I popped into the store after grabbing a coffee at Dunkin' Donuts, small place but efficiently packed to maximize their shelf space. Great selection of bourbon, whiskey and although smaller than I am used to great assortment of both high value and low cost wines. Craft beer selection is top notch while also maintaining a strong supply of the original beer choices before man buns took over brewery's. I don't live in the area but will stop in anytime I am nearby, just to check in on the latest craft beers, and take advantage of the reasonable prices for high end bourbons and whiskeys. read more

I ended my stint as a patron of Dorr's last night when I was informed by the cashier that a "card surcharge" of $0.50 would be added to the bottle of Chardonnay I had intended to purchase. Ironically, the receipts generated by this place used to consistently list my debit card transactions as having been cash -- until the upgrade to acceptance of ApplePay. Aside from a boycott I staged for the six or so months in 2020 during which management neglected to have the establishment's ApplePay payment processing machine repaired, I've appreciated this liquor store's reasonable prices, selection of craft beer, and the fact that I was always waited on by a native speaker of U.S.-ian English, for over a decade. read more

Great variety on craft beer and ready to drink beverages as well as fair pricing on wine and spirits. This is my go to spot, these guys really know what they're doing! read more

Best LC in town. Great selection, always stocked, and very reasonable prices. Only a 5 minute walk from the park, can't beat it. The man who works in the mornings is very handsome too. 5/5. read more

Great liquor store, the handsome guy at the counter has my morning nip ready for me each day no matter what. What else could you ask for in a liquor store? read more

always a clean and well stocked establishment, friendly staff were able to help me find my favorite pickle whiskey

Bought a pack of bottled Miller Lites and two of the eighteen were shattered upon opening. To top it off, there was no trace of liquid meaning they broke far before the time of purchase and dried up since then. Given the other reviews of terrible customer service I chalked this up as a loss and will take my business just a few doors down. read more

If it was possible to give negative starts believe me I would. I passed by the store for the first time after work, and as I'm about to pay, I gave the owner-which makes this even more ludicrous, my id as after he asked me for my ages. He got so upset and told to get the f*** our of his store. Man. I don't understand how you have posters says it's illegal to sell without an id yet you get mad because I decided to give you my id. As a business owner I never assumed one can be so naive to put their business in jeopardy. He was rude, disrespectful childish and most of all miserable! read more

This isn't the place to find that new Spanish wine you've been looking to try, but you will find great prices on the more popular wines, beers & spirits. read more

Dorrs Liquor Mart - the front of the store - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Brighton, Massachusetts

This place is great. It's raw and brings homage to old Brighton. So what if they don't care about you... it's a liquor store... get your booze and get out. They don't care about what cheese to pair your shitty cheap wine, but if you want great prices and good beer you found the place, and the guys working their are from the community not some stuck up college kids. This is a mainstay in Brighton don't ever change. read more

They have a pretty good assortment of cheap to average beer. 40's are pretty common, small wine selection, and suprisingly: kegs. Not of bud light or budweiser, but of miller high life, natty light, and busch. They won't tell you the price over the phone, and it's been a while since I've purchased one there, but I remember it being mildly expensive. A decent place for a quick 12 pack, 40, or a last ditch effort for a keg. read more

Mike Barnicle wrote about it once, cheapest place for booze in Boston. Used to be run by a complete jerk, but he had cheapest place for booze in Boston, so it didn't matter. read more

Dorrs is a fine liquor store. It usually has everything I need or want. However, the sales associates are almost always unhelpful, unfriendly and I can say I've never had a good experience with them. Very unimpressed with how they handle their business. read more

Good prices, and the owner is very nice. He will usually order anything you want and has some great recommendations.

Dorrs is a perfectly acceptable liquor store. I've gone in there and bought things and the people who work there have been polite and professional. Sure, there's sports on tv but the staff doesn't ignore a customer when it's time to pay up or ask a question. I saw the slew of crummy reviews for Dorrs and had to speak up. I wonder if people expect a chorus line of guys in tuxedos with top hats and canes to jump out singing "May weeee help yooouuuu?!" with giant smiles or something. The guys who work there just seem mellow and are decently personable. The prices are average. Dorr's isn't amazing but it isn't awful, either! read more

This place rules. When i go in, they dont start a meaningless conversation that i dont want to have. They dont ask me if i need help which is perfect because i dont want any. I grab my beer and pay for it then say "have a good one" and they say "you too". Came thirsty, left prepared. 5 stars read more

The people who work here have some sort of customer service problem. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and not go as far as saying racist (we're Asian) but we went up to the counter to ask for something behind it and the cashier never acknowledged us and never stopped the conversation he was having with someone else. We waited very awkwardly for at least 3-5 minutes before just leaving the store in disgust. read more

This place was a real find back in the 70s and 80s. It was owned by a family that owned the property and they just slashed the prices to rock bottom. The owner worked most of the time, but college kids and a moonlighting truck driver worked the night shifts. All sorts of Brighton denizens used to hang out there and shoot the breeze, people would stop in, join the chat, leave. The owner knew he had the lowest prices anywhere, so he was a bit like the Durgin Park waitresses. If you asked for tonic or slim jims he'd say "WE SELL BOOZE." If someone asked what kind of wine went with what, he'd say 'do you want to drink it to impress someone or do you want so me thing you like? Because you're not going to spend enough here to impress anyone, so just get what you like." And if you asked for some sort of Austrian wine "Do you know how to make an Austrian whine? Kick him in the -----" It's still funky, and still has pretty good prices, but we still kinda miss bill and frank the hangers-on, Joe, Larry, Doug (who would stay all day) etc. etc. read more

This place just doesn't do it for me, and I don't think they deserve the business from a competition standpoint. The staff is complacent, it doesn't feel very clean, and it's pretty small, so the selection is nothing special. Considering the other options available to me between Oak Square and up in Allston, I only go here if it's really the most convenient. Maybe if I lived across the street, I'd give it 3 stars, but since I live between this and Oak Square, and have a car, I go to Oak, Martignetti's, and the wine store in the Shaw's on Western before I give this place my business. read more

Ah, Dorrs. Shopping in here makes me nostalgic for Reservoir in Cleveland Circle. Dorrs is a little smaller, but it's roughly the same set-up, carries many of the same products, and is generally priced the similarly as Res. Dorrs carries your typical low-end beers as well as a decent selection of things like Sam, Harpoon, Brooklyn, Blue Moon, some Magic Hat, seasonal beers, not to mention some wine and standard hard liquors. My favorite thing about this place is the fact that the owner places a large order of Sam Summer late August. That's kind of a big deal, guys. The fact that it's just up the street from me doesn't hurt, either. As long as I'm living in Brighton Center, I'm sure I'll be popping into Dorrs. read more

Decent neighborhood package store -- I go there to buy Naragansett tall-boys. You won't find the latest and greatest w/beer and wine, but you will find your standards -- at a fair price. Guys behind the counter aren't jerks. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I never write reviews on yelp for anything but I've never had a more unpleasant experience at a liquor store where I was about to spend 200+ dollars at, took my business elsewhere read more

Great deals on beer, but everyone who works there is a surly drunk unless you're a hot girl. What a wierd place.

Good store, great service, very knowledgable, damn good atmosophere and the tall guy is pretty cute too
