I engaged Dorros Law / Torin Dorros for a pre-litigation legal matter. While the initial intake was straightforward, over time I found the process increasingly confusing as strategies shifted and expectations were not explained with the clarity I needed. When I asked clarifying questions to ensure we were aligned, I did not receive direct answers. I found it necessary to keep very detailed records (email/text/call notes) because I repeatedly had to refer back to prior communications to reconcile inconsistencies. At times, it also felt like there was more emphasis on the firm's economic upside than on clearly explaining how the approach would serve me as the client. Over time, I began to feel that my best interests were not being prioritized and I lost trust. The firm ultimately chose to end the representation rather than work through the questions and craft a strategy I felt comfortable with. When I later shared feedback about my experience, the response began with "I don't want to get into too much of a debate here," and then proceeded with a lengthy written response (~ 1,100 words), which felt more focused on self-justification than addressing my concerns and reinforced that my concerns were valid. Hi, Mr Dorros, I am a current client and I have been patiently waiting for a call back for 2 years for my case update. My case too, was gross negligence by the hospital for leaking protected medical information. I have logs for everytime I have reached out for an update. I think maybe there is a misunderstanding? I know things have been upside down with this pandemic. But last we talked was February 2019. I had the Severe Misfortune of speaking with Mr. Dorros yesterday. I have spoken with many lawyers over the past 5-6 years. Quite Honestly, I am not fond of Lawyers. I have met a few here and there that are helpful. Of a Hundred or so I have spoke to he is part of One percent I wrote a bad review on. In other words the only one I spoke to and haven't retained out of a hundred I wrote a bad review on. The worst of the worst. Yesterday, I spoke with Mr. Dorros. He does seem to have some knowledge base. I have had Lawyers say some outlandish things. This one had me crawling out of my skin. Whether he was trying to be empathetic I don't want to go there. I like the Lawyers that say, sorry too much for me, or Statutes then let it go. That way you can move on. Imagine if you were in a case and he felt overwhelmed what damage he might do to your case. I am not his Therapist, nor is he mine. He repeatedly stated multiple things have been done which were very illegal by multiple entities to me regarding privacy and other issues. I knew that I have heard that before and am well aware. He then told me that I would have to have a Lawyer versed in two other areas of Law because there were illegal occurrences in those areas too that were quite extensive. I asked him where did he think I would find a Lawyer versed in those areas. No response, no you might try this or that Lawyer. More you are up a creek. Gee thanks. He then changed the subject, to Its not a good time, my hamster died, the dog ate my homework. I didn't get the GI Joe Doll from my parents as a kid I wanted, My favorite Sports team didn't win last night. Of course he didn't say the previous but it was every excuse he could make and the excuses escalated. You would think it's like ok then let me get off this phone call. Nope. Instead he rambled back and forth between a Lawyer I would need that was versed in at least three areas of the law and back to other random excuses. Be decisive and make a decision and be professional. Don't let on to a potential client that knew they weren't going to be taken that you appear to lie repeatedly to save yourself and intermingle all this with some entities did horrific and illegal things to you. Then you look like you are the problem and a burden to Truth Tellers and create nothing, just destroy. Get what you can get and the Heck with anyone else. I have my faults, but I refuse to live like that. By the Way, Anna was not too great either (Intake Clerk I think)but at least I can't say she's a societal problem.
