I have known and worked with Chris and his staff at Dormont Florist since he became its owner. They have seen me through a book launch party, my 50th birthday celebration during COVID, and 2023, THE most difficult year of my life. Over the past two years, Chris and his staff helped me prepare to celebrate my marriage to the most incredible man. To say that Dormont Florist exceeded my expectations would be a colossal understatement. Prior to my initial consultation, the only absolute was that I wanted to honor my late mother by incorporating vibrant wildflower colors. Beyond that, I was open to any and all suggestions. With my complete trust and faith, Chris suggested a variety of colorful floral varieties and options. Forgive my redundance, but Chris and his staff far exceeded my expectations. On my wedding day, I was given the most brilliant and colorful bridal bouquet. My bridal party received the same vibrant colors. When I arrived at our wedding venue, every inch of it was dressed with the same brilliant colors and was lit with soft candle light. It was breathtaking and overwhelming. I can't count the number of compliments from guests and the staff at the Chartiers Room. Thank you, Chris and staff, for making our wedding one of the most amazing days! Really do not like to leave negative reviews but....My husband ordered flowers for my birthday through a third-party site from Dormont Florist. I received a dozen red roses, but they were so dark they almost looked black. Unfortunately, they also started wilting almost immediately, and within less than five days, they were already dying. read more

Hello, I just want to pass along the rave reviews we received from our daughter's wedding this past Saturday, August 17th. The bouquets were gorgeous, as were all wedding party flowers. I had never seen a pocket square boutonniere and I'm glad they chose that for the groom alone. The centerpieces were amazing. I loved the mix of high and low. My favorite though, was the flower girl basket. It was the right size for her. The two little yellow "balls" (sorry I don't know the name of the flower) that were sticking up out of the basket reminded me of bumblebee or butterfly antennas. In my opinion, it was the perfect whimsical touch for a little girl. She loved her basket too! Thank you for such a beautiful job. Mary read more

This florist is pretty good and the flowers are quality and because of how close it is to my home I've bought flowers from here a few times within the last year. The big negative is what you get for what you pay. Call up Donati and Sons in Bethel Park and ask for a $50 bouquet of whatever and you will end up with a very large and boisterous bouquet, spend $50 at this place and you get a tiny little bouquet of flowers that pales in comparison. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your hard earned money here when you can pay the same amount elsewhere and get a vase/ bouquet 2-3 times the size and fullness. EDIT in Response to Business: I have bought flowers from this Florist multiple times, the most recent being the ONLY time I purchased a grab and go bouquet. My point still stands regardless of your snide deflection, the money you spend here gets you a fraction of what you can get elsewhere for the same price. To be clear, this review comes from over a year of buying flowers from different shops within the South Hills, and I only made this review after it was abundantly clear this place is a ripoff. read more

I ordered the lantern flower arrangement on their website for a funeral the night before it needed to be delivered. I requested peach or pink flowers for the arrangement. The order was placed the day after Easter so I wasn't sure how the flower arrangement would be at such short notice. Boy, was I impressed! The flower arrangement was gorgeous with peach & pink flowers & tiny orchids! They will be my go to florist from now on. The reason I went to their website to begin with was I had seen an arrangement that they had done that was beautiful. Joyce H. read more

My go to florist! Reasonably priced and the bouquets are GORGEOUS!!! I'm always so impressed!

I called Dormont Florist after reading their excellent YELP reviews. I asked them to create a sophisticated, contemporary bouquet to send to my relatives who had recently relocated to Pittsburgh from NYC. Their creation, based on a bridal bouquet I had seen on their web site, far exceed my expectations. These fellows are super talented, professional and accommodating. And considering the profundity of flowers in this bouquet, I also think reasonably priced. I will always use Dormont in the future and suggest you do too! read more

I ordered from Florida based on these excellent Yelp reviews for same day delivery to Bethel Park. I had emailed two photos to them from some reviews here on Yelp to show what I had in mind and Carole loved her 30th employment anniversary flowers. They were delivered even earlier than expected and looked so beautiful. In spite of a worldwide flower shortage, Dormont Florist did a great job and exceeded my expectations at a fair price. read more

Super easy to place an order, and the arrangement turned out beautifully. Highly recommend.

long review but informational... I called To order flowers for our kids that just had a baby. The young girl was nice and sounded like she knew flowers and I was in good hands. I was very specific asking for very dense flowers, little greens, blush pinks and whites, roses, tulips, gerber daisies, hydrangeas near base by the vase, and lilies. Glass square vase specifically. We looked together at the Haute pink arrangement so she knew how dense the flower should be. I suggested a range of $100-150 and kindly she said I could do it for less. Now I know why. Arrangement 1 looked like a garden wedding with lots of greens. Not the correct flowers and no white at all. Granted it was way cheaper still not right for our taste. I called to speak to florist and manager picked up. He was defensive b/c he made it and followed notes. I "strongly" as he put it pushed back stating the notes lacked and therefore the arrangement was not what I intended and another needed to be sent. He then said the girl was new and maybe didnt understand. He argued and said he would pick up the old and replace but VERY RELUCTANTLY. I explained that tacky and to just replace. He complained about being a small business and I said I would pay an additional 30 to get the correction done. AGAIN walked through specifics and had him pull the same image from HIS website so there were NO mistakes and still... the 2nd replacement was awful based in my detailed request for the 2nd time. Instead of calling I share the images and review. While some may think the arrangements pretty they were NOT what I ordered and honestly embarrassing based on my taste and the impressive elegant arrangement we hoped to send. read more

Have ordered from these folks several times and I'm never disappointed. They have a very fine eye for detail and always put a very modern spin on my order. Staff is pleasant to work with and Christopher, the owner, is kind, caring, and always so helpful when ordering. They always go above and beyond to make sure customers are satisfied. Most important they have a huge selection of beautiful flowers. Don't waste your time anywhere else. This place is more than accommodating, affordable and awesome! read more

Great flowers, great price! Lots of wonderful plantsand fresh flowers! They have a really cute shop dog too

I cannot recommend Dormont Florist enough for any of your flower needs! We booked them for our wedding and from our first consult with Chris, I knew we made the right choice. We had selected wedding colors but did not have many specifics on what type of flower arrangements we wanted. Chris was very familiar with our venue and talked us through various styles that would suit our taste, the season, the wedding colors, and the location. Honestly, after making those initial decisions, we left the rest in Chris's creative hands and believe me - the end result was STUNNING! Chris and his team put together the most breathtaking floral arrangements, including dinner centerpieces and bouquets. They also provided flowers for the staircase (where the vows took place), the gift/card table, the welcome sign, and a honeymoon table arrangement that we still talk about today. On top of all of the beauty and quality, Dormont Florist also had some of the most reasonable and fair pricing that we had seen. From start to finish, it was a pleasure to work with them. read more

I cannot thank Dormont Florist enough. My fiancée and I were pretty indecisive about the flowers we wanted for our wedding reception, but Chris, the owner, was SO patient and helpful and made the entire process so easy for us. He walked us through all of the options, really listened to us, took our tastes in mind, and ensured that the arrangements were exactly what we wanted. He truly made our vision come to life and ultimately exceeded our expectations for the bouquet, boutonnières, and centerpiece arrangements. Everything was absolutely stunning! Chris and his staff went above and beyond, paid attention to every single detail, and we were absolutely blown away. As were all of our guests who could not stop raving about the flowers.
