Upsides: This hotel is super convenient if you have a function to attend at the Holstenhallen, as…read moreit is a short walk across the parking lot. The food this year was very good. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, with fresh fruit, cheeses, breads, juices, yogurts, meats, scrambled, fried, hard/soft boiled eggs, and much more. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It is a short drive to downtown Neumunster shopping. Downsides: Tiny shower that you must step up into. None..zero-I mean not one-toiletry provided, other than liquid hand/body/hair do it all soap. For ladies, no way to stand close to mirror to put makeup on, and the makeup mirror provided is way over against the left wall behind the toilet; Not even accessible. Also, no wash rags. What? Only two hand towels, two scraggly bath towels. I am a fan of frugality, but not really when I am traveling and spending good euro at a hotel; My bath towel had a patch on it. Seriously.

I mean, it might sound hard to believe but I assume most of guests are here for some type of business as I don't think this is considered a vacation spot... therefore the poorly equipped gym is worthless as it's only open when I'm at work. The only real plus is that the staff seems really nice.

Really large room (in a corner), with a huge 70's look (somehow nice) and lots of windows with an overview to the Holstenplatz and the new Rathaus. Breakfast buffet is quite good and diverse, and a good plus for the panoramic view from the 10th level. As I booked my room on the hotel website directly, minibar and parking were for free, good to know! Personal at the reception friendly and answering all questions about Kiel. On the minus side I'll say a ridiculous small TV (30cm), impossible to watch from the bed 5m away, and there was a hole in one of the bedsheet
