Ridiculous prices , I understand prices are up in BA but merchants should try not to have to make 800 % on a drink , I was there yesterday and the Old Fashioned was 16,500 pesos which is 15 dollars , I understand that if you have a cocktail in a fancy hotel it costs more but this is located in a dangerous and dark area at night read more

I was in Argentina for a few days and wanted to check out the night life. Food- amazing drinks. I didn't eat much but I did. Have the guacamole and chips very very tasty. Service- you will be more than satisfied. The bartenders here know their stuff and are very personable. I wish they were like this back in LA Price - I'm from Los Angeles so I usually overpay on drinks. The quality and service here made it feel like a super bargain Location - it's in the heart of Buenos Aires and it was walking distance from my airbnb. Inside the decor is cool see pics to know what I mean Extra- overall the service is what would get me to come back. I feel like bartenders like this don't exist anymore. Keep up the good work guys!!! A good friend of mine introduced me to this place a while ago. Its a cocktail bar towards the edge of San Telmo and boasts an impressive list of cocktail choices on that menu. I was a little torn on my rating because one of the things that kept me coming back to this place, their entraña is no longer offered on the menu. It was one of my favorite entraña dinners in the city and it was disappointing that they got rid of it, but I think it has more to do with the overall Argentinian economy rather than a chef choice. Remaining food there is still solid, just not quite as interesting to me. Cocktails vary here a bit. I've had a gambit of good and mediocre cocktails and the menu is kinda big and there is a lot to choose from. The "Fiesta Cubana" (I might be remembering the name incorrectly) is absolutely delicious. It involves rum and a coffee liquor and wakes me up and gets me drunk while lighting up every tastebud in my mouth. This place is worth a visit if you are in San Telmo, especially near Avenida Juan de Garay, but without some of the original menu I'm not sure how often I would venture down there if I lived much farther away. read more

Doppelganger was the bar I needed after being in BA for a week and wanted familiar drinks and music. It had a hipster vibe, played American music and had amazing bartenders. My friend and I sat at the bar, 2 seats in the corner and it was perfect. The bartenders were really attentive and nice (Ariel and Leonardo?). GET THE BLOODY MARY. Every time I try a BM in the US, I want to like it but always end up getting a different drink, but here, the BM was AMAZING. read more

Without a doubt one of the the best cocktail bars I've seen. Doppelganger (or Bar Doppel as we found it) has no pretenses, just a wonderfully curated drink menu by knowledgable and talented staff. The drink menu is extensive, broken down into dozens of categories, there are probably 120 different cocktails on the menu. The first two we chose were excellent. For our second drinks, we sat at the bar, as drinks like these are definitely a spectator sport. The bartenders sent ice shards all over the place as they whacked them with billy clubs into the right proportions. Skilled bartenders will put together a "you call it," drink with the liquor of your choice. For mine I requested a Fernet-based libation that emphasized the bitter notes of the liquor, they delivered perfectly. My wife described her favorite whiskey cocktail that she had tried previously and they were able to put it together flawlessly. The amount of care and quality that they put into everything absolutely justifies the price: around 10 dollars per drink. Most cocktail spots I've been to in NYC have a level of pretentiousness from the decor or staff that doesn't merit the $11-20 dollar price tag, no matter how good the drink actually is. The environment at Doppel is classy, dark and comfortable. Might need to knock when you get there as they keep the door locked at night. read more

Came to this bar by myself based on the Yelp reviews and it lived up to its reputation in every way possible . Guillermo and his bartenders, Leonardo and Alivar (I'm positive I'm messing his name up and I apologize) were both fantastic. I speak very little Spanish and they weren't out of their way to make me feel welcome and include me on which drinks they were making and how, answering all my questions. The staff is incredibly nice and genuinely having fun and their energy made it a great place for me to have a few cocktails and dinner. I had an old fashioned, an Apa, and the sea captain and they were all great drinks. The care and attention the bartenders put into each drink is noticeable. For food I had the chinvito de Uruguay which was absolutely delicious. I could have eaten 2. My only complaint and the reason why I'm not giving it 5 out of 5 is because the Yelp profile says they have free wifi but the staff refuses to give it out. I understand that I'm less than 1% of the clientele but I need wifi in order to map out my plans and get in touch with friends since I don't know the area whatsoever. They called a cab for me but I never found it, had to end up flagging one down myself. Not a huge deal and nothing to discredit the quality and hospitality of the bar and staff but it would have made things a lot easier for me. read more

We enjoy nice cocktails so this was a great spot for us. Low lights, quiet, ambient. The bartenders put a lot of care into each drink. They don't have English menus, but we just basically chose drinks at random and they were lovely. If you're looking for an intimate night out with craft cocktails and good conversation, this is the place. Not cheap. read more

Amazing cocktail list that are especially great on a hot Summer evening. A seat at the bar is a pretty amazing view point to see the bartenders at work.
