Can I give them zero stars, since they gave me zero service?…read more Beacon of Light Transportation lists themselves, both on Yelp and on their website, as providing taxi service. They have a form on their website, to book rides. I entered my information at about 1:15pm on Thursday afternoon, the 9th of March, for a taxi to pick me up at 3pm the same day, for a round trip to my bank. Their website says, "Great rates to various locations throughout the Tampa Bay area. No trip is to small or too big for us to handle." It also says, "Bookings during normal business hours are received via a live representative. Bookings outside of our business hours will be contacted and validated the next business day." Their Yelp listing gives their hours as 6am - 11pm, so I had every reason to believe my booking would be seen and I would receive a response. I DID receive an automated email, saying my request for service had been received, but that's the last I heard from them. 3pm came and went, and I was left stranded at my house. I've been a cab driver, and I know the normal wait time for a cab ride is a bit longer for me, as I live in the northeast Tampa suburbs. But, taking a call for a ride over an hour and a half in advance should be VERY doable. To give a customer NO response whatsoever, during regular business hours, is pitiful.

Our driver was absolutely wonderful--he not only got us to the cruise port safely but also took the time to explain exactly where to go and what to expect for pickup after our cruise. When our flight was delayed after disembarking and we unexpectedly needed to stay at a hotel, he went above and beyond. He offered to pick us up and take us to the airport free of charge just to make sure the kids got there safely. That kind of kindness and care is so rare these days. This is truly a wonderful company with an owner who clearly cares about their customers. Could not recommend them enough!

He was absolutely pleasant & gave a GREAT price. He called 30 mins prior to arrival We were greeted like royalty, the car was clean inside and out & the wine chilled! and served to us!!!! He spoke to us with enthusiasm, the conversation was great. We were actually treated like FAVORITE family members, a 1st for me haven used services before........ At the last minute we decided that we wanted to check out the town & w/o hesitation he said ok for pennies more. We arrived on time we were slightly delayed he had no problem with that. He seemed cheerful & happy to see us. He was even nice enough to take a friend to her car as she had parked quite far from the center. He chose not to move until she was in her car safely & her car was in motion before he left "INCREDIBLE" then he took us to our destination again wonderful conversation & laughter the whole ride.
