As Girlfriend is approaching her 3rd birthday in November, I just wanted to take the time to say how much of a joy she has been for me, my daughter, and even my parents who have never been into animals of any kind! In fact, as we speak, Girlfriend is at the grandparents house in NC with my daughter and has been for the past month! I wasn't sure how the dog thing would go but working with Brenda was a breeze. Girlfriend has this far been a healthy and happy pup. We've only had to see a vet for check ups and minor things. She is everything I could ask for and more. Her personality is so much like mine, laid back...calm and collected, that it's unreal. I've been thinking about adding another Havanese soon. I lived in Houston at the time that I got Girlfriend but have since then relocated to MD but I wouldn't dream of using any other breeder!

A variety of worms, as she was obviously not dewormed and Giardia parasite which has now been passed to my two other dogs. Giardia has to be sent out for special testing which is not available in the 24-48 breeder request. We are now on a second round. This has been a nightmare because it is extremely contagious to humans as well. So keeping things sterilized around the clock is difficult. I have much more to add and feel free to contact me. I did advise her and she said she took all her dogs for testing I call bullshit on that, how does she know who's poops is who's, to get tested, This is very close to a puppy mill so don't be fooled by the beautiful website and promises of doggy door trained, family trained etc! It's not true! The live in huge kennels. The address on the website is not where they breed these dogs. They live at a location they don't want you to know about....i do have that address wish they would publish that and be honest. BUYER BEWARE AFTER SPENDING THOUSANDS ON A DOG YOU WILL NEED MORE TO MAKE THEM HEALTHY. We are now on our third round of treating Giardia. Let me tell you this is exhausting keeping all areas sanitized, bedding constantly washed etc. I have two other dogs, they have been treated as well. vet bills, compound pharmacy prescriptions (because the medication is really foul tasting) all $ that add up. how can this breeder possible send home a healthy puppy. Remember you sign your rights away when you sign that contract. This is a very dishonest person! will look you straight in the eye like a saint, but she is not, the devil is looking at your check instead! Three days before I was supposed to pick up Fiona, I got a text that she was sick and had been taken to a vet. I was sent a picture of a generic bottle of medicine but never received the vet records I requested. Marina forced a refund of my deposit even though I said I was willing to wait and see if she got better. She said she would keep me updated. I let her know how disappointed I was and that Texas law says I have a right to vet records as proof of illness and that it is illegal to sell the kitten to someone else without giving me right of refusal first. I sent a text the next day to check and see if she was getting better and I never received a response. The website was never updated to show Fiona was reserved and still shows she is for sale. I believe she may have been offered a higher price and wanted out of our contract which is illegal in the state of Texas. I ended up adopting a look alike from the shelter but wanted to share my experience for anyone else looking at her kittens. I want to save you the heartbreak that I have.

I've worked with nearly half a dozen breeders in my life and this experience stands alone as being bizarre and unnervingly suspicious. The breeder was not at all receptive to any questions that a standard breeder should be more than receptive to and even welcome (i.e. dog temperament, pictures and videos, parent weight and health information/records, etc.). He seemed constantly disgusted that I was interested in doing diligence before paying thousands of dollars for a breed known to have significant health issues. He was nearly impossible to stay in touch with despite my apparent interest in paying a hefty price tag for his puppy. It felt like he was going to pawn his puppy off to me and then skip town. I'm not sure what the deal is but this dude is sketchy and I would avoid. His dogs are cute, but I'm sure they are cheaper than industry standard for a reason.
