I dropped by here on a Sunday morning while in Tyler, Tx. I was very surprised by how good these donuts were. This is 100% the place to get great traditional classic donuts. They were like small bites of sunshine in my life. The dough was soft, light, moist, and slightly sweet. The glaze was thin, flaky, and sweet. The donuts also held up very well over a day without getting to dry, stale, or soggy from the glaze. We love visiting Donut Delight while in town! Always greeted with friendly and fast service- I don't know how she does it! Selections are plenty- husband loves the Earl Campbell hot link kolache while I really appreciate she carries no cheese pigs. The old fashioned donut is my favorite too! I was craving some donuts here in Tyler, and this spot had the best reviews on yelp. My consensus? Friendly service, good variety of donuts, but on the sweeter/oily side on the donut spectrum. There's a good amount of parking, especially when you go early in the day. They share parking in a plaza with a bunch of other shops/stores, so don't worry about getting a spot here...even during peak times. Donut Delight is a tiny shop that seems to have a lot of local support. They sell donuts as well as breakfast tacos (which all have meat), kolaches and beverages. I enjoyed the donut holes, but they were on the soft side and left that oily aftertaste. I think I've been spoiled by Round Rock Donuts and my favorite donut shop in Austin. BUT their blueberry and old-fashioned donuts are pretty good. They bag all your donuts up for you, and service is with a sweet smile. Support your local businesses! It seems like Donut Palace is the chain to go to here in Tyler, but I'm all for supporting the stand-alones. read more

It's true that there are donut shops basically everywhere, but Donut Delight here on Amherst always has a great variety, even late into the morning. They have a ton of drink options too. Most importantly, the staff is extremely, and genuinely friendly. I came today and they saw my daughter trying to decide between a blue iced donut or a vanilla frosted one with little cookies on it. She decided on the blue one, we went to check out, and they gave her the cookie donut free anyway. And as I am writing this, a little boy came in to buy donuts for him and his mom in the car. He paid for the donuts and then casually grabbed a drink, just thinking that's how it goes, and the staff just laughed off the dollar they lost. I don't eat donuts but these donuts are delicious! The bacon maple donuts are the bomb.com, real bacon bits on top of a really good maple donut. Recommend it 100%. The sausage links are also super good, it's not a kolache which they also have but a tastier and bigger version. You only need to eat one to be full. When I asked the owner what her favorite donut is she said that she could eat the plain glazed every morning and I could see why. Everything is fresh, well displayed, and delicious! The people here are super friendly and welcoming. You have plenty of beverages to choose from along with decent coffee to go along with the donuts. We found this Donut Hole in the wall online this morning looking for a Donut Shop close to our home in Tyler. Based on reviews we read here we made the quick trip to Amherst via Donnybrook and came ready to eat. We ate in and I had two of the Maple Bacon donuts and my wife had a Pignchz Kolache. Monie?sp brought us a small basket of Donut Holes as a Thank you and a welcome. We even got a couple of favorites to go. Try this little gem where donuts are NOT PLAIN! They have something for everyone. They have several Cereal Topped donuts as well as an M&Ms and even an Oreo cookie Donut! We left FULL and satisfied and didn't break the bank. The best donuts in town. They melt in your mouth. The sweet spot to go is between 8am-8:20 from my experience, but I'm sure the earlier the better. The pigs are always good, but sometimes can be a hit or miss on the breading being overly done. I like my breading a light, yeasty texture. Qualifier - my visit was during the pandemic so I understand circumstances are not normal in the food business. Even so, I don't know that i agree with all of the rave reviews. My glazed donuts were good (my benchmark for donuts is how good the glazed donuts are), and my friend ordered us an apple fritter to try since I had never had one. He says that it was decent, although was little light on apple. The cinnamon bun was good, too - flaky, not over powered by the cinnamon. I wouldn't not go back, but with so many other donut shops in the area, I'd consider the options first. read more

Thank you to the folks who reviewed this donut shop as that is why I discovered this gem. I LOVE donuts but tend to stick to the same place once I find one that I like. Since I do not live in Tyler I had to rely on reviews, and those that said the donuts are good and the people great are right on. I tried only a few different donuts so I cannot speak to the savory items they sell. The bacon maple donut is so good! The bacon is actually crispy. The Fruity Pebbles donut was delicious and fun. I like that you can get "normal " donuts but also different ones like those that I tried. They even have baskets of donut holes with different colored glazes. The other reason I liked this place is that the people there are super friendly. They seem genuinely interested in helping (I had questions) and in ensuring your enjoyment of their donuts. read more

Thanks to my kids passion for kolaches and donuts (for a treat of course!), we have tried many donut shops in Tyler. Donut Delight is by far the BEST, melt in your mouth donuts in town!! They offer the yummy fresh, traditional donuts (glazed, Eclaires, sprinkles, Bear claws, cake donuts, etc.) but truly shine with their special varieties (You have to try the Maple Bacon Donut or Fruity Pebbles donut!). They also make pretty decorated holiday donuts (crosses and bunnies at Easter, colorful firework sprinkled for July 4th, etc.) Their Sausage and cheese Kolaches are AMAZING! The bread is soft and melts in your mouth with cheesy savory sausage. While their food is so good, their customer service is the best in town!!
