The artists here reflect talent and creativity! They are great to work with and I hope to come back.

I truly wish I had read a review like this before going here…read more.. This was one of the most upsetting experiences I've ever had, and I cried the entire drive home. A tattoo is permanent, deeply personal, and something you carry on your body forever -- yet the process here felt cold, rushed, and completely dismissive of me as a human being. Karleigh seems like a lovely person, but she did not listen to or understand my vision at all. I am now left with a very large, very dark tattoo that does not feel like me -- and that is a devastating thing to live with. I am not covered in tattoos and this was meant to be my one piece of art. The biggest and most alarming issue is that Rocky Mountain Tattoo refuses to let clients see their design in advance or participate in the design process. I even offered to pay a larger deposit just to see the design beforehand and make sure we were on the same page. I was told no, because they were worried I might "steal" the design. The receptionist was openly snarky, saying that "99.999% of clients don't have a problem with this." What made this even worse is that my deposit was effectively being held hostage. That pressure alone made it incredibly difficult to walk away. The first time you see your tattoo design is the day of your appointment, under intense time pressure, with your deposit on the line, and while being expected to make an irreversible decision on the spot. When I arrived, I was shown a design that was about four times larger than discussed, missing all the elements I had specifically requested, and with a giant butterfly added without my consent. Karleigh went into the back to rework it, but we never sat together to collaborate and I was not part of the design process. Even after the re-work, most of the elements I had asked for were still not there. The design I was shown looked like clip-art rather than an actual drawing, so I had no way of understanding how the shading would look or how heavy and black it would become. The stencil was applied without offering me a mirror -- I had to find one myself. Standing there alone, I managed to figure out how to remove a large section of the tattoo. That moment should never happen to anyone. During the tattooing, I was not once asked for my input, given options, or shown the progress as it was taking shape. I couldn't see the shading until it was finished -- and by then, it was too late to change anything. The entire experience felt painfully impersonal, like my body and my voice didn't matter. And then there is the fern. The fern is shockingly bad. It has no definition or detail whatsoever -- the leaves bleed together into dark, shapeless blobs. Individual fronds are indistinguishable. You can clearly see needle tracks, inconsistent line weight, and sloppy outlines. There is no depth, no texture, and no technical finesse. It genuinely looks unfinished and amateur, as if she didn't even try. This is not my subjective stylistic opinion -- it is poor workmanship. I have attached photos for people to see for themselves. I contacted Lee, the owner of Rocky Mountain Tattoo, privately hoping for accountability or at least an attempt to fix the obvious problems. He refused to offer any remedy -- no touch-up, no correction, nothing. He told me that "from a professional standpoint, the work was executed appropriately and responsibly." Being told that this level of work is acceptable was heartbreaking. I am beyond disappointed and deeply regret trusting Rocky Mountain Tattoo with something so personal and permanent. If you want a collaborative tattoo experience -- and if you care about technical quality and craftsmanship -- please go elsewhere. You deserve better than this.

I had received an email from shaundra stating my deposit will be filed under my account to be used at a later date. Went to rebook to by told by tanner that shaundra should never have said it will be honored and has been forfeited now, if I want in then I have to pay another deposit of 300$. Safe to say I will not be going back there as tanner was so quick to throw his coworker under the bus instead of honoring the written promise I have from the business. I do not recommend placing a deposit because they will find a way to scam you out of it.

I got a tattoo on my finger November 13 knowing it would fade quicker...but seriously after 3 days…read moreI'm losing it??!! See pics. Last pic is today. I emailed the shop on Nov 18 when I noticed the fading...they told me tough luck. I expected fading, but maybe 3 months in, not 3 days in. $126 for the "pleasure" of the worst customer service ever on top of terrible workmanship. Spend your money elsewhere. This is NOT the number one tattoo shop in Kelowna. What a joke!

DON'T GO HERE!. RUDE! THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY! I had a consult with a tattoo guy we'll call J. J…read morespent about 8 minutes with me. I told him what I wanted and showed him some photos of what I was looking for. I also told him that I had an existing tattoo that is located close to where my new tattoo was to be located and that while I did not expect them to blend or connect I didn't want by new tattoo to look totally off beside my existing one. I showed him this tattoo. J explained that he would not be showing me any designs in advance of my appointment, largely because he wouldn't be doing the design until the day before my appointment.  I went to pay my $180 deposit after confirming my tattoo date.  After my payment went through James looked at me and said, "So, do you have any tattoos or will this be your first". I reminded him that I had just shown him the tattoo I have.....was he stoned? strike one Four days before my appointment I contacted the studio. I wanted to get a smaller tattoo (a simple cluster of flowers) on my appointment day than what I had originally planned because I had some evolving ideas for the bigger one. The next day I received a phone call from the receptionist at the studio. She said that what I now wanted was pretty small compared to what I was originally planning to get and that as a result I would need to book a consultation. I told her that I had been waiting a long time for my appointment and it didn't seem right that I would need a new consult, as nothing had been designes yet. She explained that I was booked in for a few hours and this new tattoo wouldn't take that long. She said that J had a few large tattoos to do this week and he had already designed my tattoo and that his 'head wasn't into' what I wanted to get and so I would need to rebook. I explained to her that he made it very clear to me at the consult that he did not desing tattoos until the day before the appointment. She reiterrated that J would need a good amount of time to 'get his head into' my new tattoo. I asked her if she was suggesting he was incapable of coming up with a small flower cluster in 3 days and she said no. I told her if she was not able to keep my appointment that I could take my deposit and go somewhere else. She told me she would not give me my deposit back.  So I asked to speak with the owner. She told me he was busy doing a tattoo. No problem I said please have him call me. She put me on hold and came back saying the owner refused to speak with me. I insisted on an opportunity to speak with owner and again she said no explaining the owner would never speak to me. She put me on hold again and when she came back on the phone to tell me that J had since said fine he'll do the flower tattoo but that whatever he designed was what I was getting and he wouldn't do any modifications to the design whatsoever when I came in. If I didn't like it too bad I could either get it or leave the appointment without a tattoo. She siad those were my options. Are you kidding me?!??!!! He can't get his head into a small flower tattoo over the next few days?!?! I get whatever he designs and am not permitted to provide any input on what I'm putting on MY BODY? Now after all of this how could I be comfortable letting anyone from that studio tattoo me!?!??! I wrote an email to the owner that Im pretty sure the receptionist answered. In the response they said they would not refund my money AND the artist was offended by me and that it insulted his capabilities. So I change my mind about the tattoo I want well in advance of my appointment and they take it personally and get offended!! Then they act like very immature people about it because they feel their egos are bruised! Im pretty sure if you're going to be tattooing people that you should be able to leave your emotional immaturities at home. Terrible customer service, terrible way to run a business and they are rip-off artists. My advice, run the other way. Go to a professional place of business for your tattoo. I have since done so and the experience has been COMPLETELY different.
