I called this host at least 5x before getting anyone, only to be told that the price was incorrect so I should cancel and rebook. When I asked to speak to the manager to try to resolve the issue, he denied responsibility and directed me back to VRBO. Further, he accused me of trying to take advantage of the wrong price. Accusing the customer is never a great idea, especially when she is doing due diligence on a reservation. I responded that I wasn't asking for the listed price but what he could do to help me. Still, he refused to apologize or suggest a solution other than talk to VRBO. Fernando was very rude, and unhelpful. Now I'm waiting to see if he cancels my reservation. Don't go here unless you want to support a business who really doesn't care about your satisfaction as the paying customer.

I realized this an hour later, contacted the management company immediately and they would not issue a refund, but did move our reservation to the correct date, so that worked out. The location itself is great. It's right on the lake of Donner Pass Rd, which isn't nearly as busy as in town (this was a summer stay by the way). The room wasn't great though. The walls are *paper thin* We could literally hear every word of the conversation the couple in the next room were having. Whenever they took a shower it sounded like a plane taking off. Thankfully everyone respected the quiet hours. There was also no AC. On top of this, the ceiling fan was on the same light switch as a light over the sink, so I had to climb on a chair and unscrew the lightbulb so we could sleep with the fan on. This place was about $40-50 less per night compared to staying in the Best Western. Although the location was nice, I'll probably look elsewhere next time. Truckee in general has become a very expensive place to stay.

The kitchenette was great to make breakfast in, and bathroom even had a heater which was so nice and cozy for this chilly trip. I should note that they don't have daily cleaning so that may be a deal breaker for some, but we didn't really mind for a shorter, 4 day trip. Thank you Red Wolf Lodge.

Bed, even though a Murphy is quite comfortable. Having your own assigned parking spot is super convenient. After hours check in was straight forward & easy. The private & protected swim/kayake launch area is great. BBQ's are plentiful & work great. Loved watching the sunrise & sunset from the pier. Had a great time playing ping pong. Full kitchen is stocked & great for preparing meals. The not so great: Temperature in the room runs warm, no matter what you do. We left most windows open 24/7 & were still warm - even with snow outside. To complicate that - leaf blowers...run all day long. Do they carry around extra batteries? No joke - from 8am to after 5pm, it doesn't stop. When you have to leave windows open to not boil in the room - the noise from the leaf blowers = nousicance. The pillows are crazy full. Make your neck hurt firm. I ended up filling my own pillowcase with a small blanket I brought. If you trade through II, for a sleeps 2 privately/with a kitchen - that's exactly what you get. A room with a kitchen in it. It's pretty intimate to co-habitate for a week together. We did ok but it would be awkward if your not super close/familiar with each other. $25 a day "resort fee", no matter what the season & no matter what type of room you have. No kayakes, no pool - doesn't matter = $25 a day. We won't be back, unfortunately. Might be better in a larger unit during a different time of year.

This review is mainly for the bar experience at the Washington Hotel. This bar totally rocks!…read more It is so bogus that this place gets a low rating on Yelp. Perhaps, it's because we are different and have certain standards and expectations. I love this old and small American bar in a super small American town. I appreciate the fact that there was mining business many years ago so we now get to drive on these mining roads to visit old mining towns. We were traveling on fresh snow, off roading from south Yuba river, passing Bloomfield, Relief, then making our way to Washington on Relief Hill road after 12 miles. There's no traffic as we were totally alone enjoying the beautiful snow scenery along the off road. There were many falling trees and lots of tree wells. Tree well is a void or area of loose snow around the trunk of a tree enveloped in deep snow. It's known as "spruce traps", these voids present danger to any vehicles which potentially slide into them. We arrived late in Washington, exhausted, but our eyes lit up as we saw this bar, at the Washington Hotel. The place is warm so it's such a treat from being in the cold all day. At this visit, there were both locals and visitors. I enjoy all the artifacts on the wall and the fun ambiance here. Our bar attender, Mickey is such a special and sweet lady who made our visit at the bar perfect. My drink selection was the Hazy IPA, served super cold in a cold glass and tasted yummy. Mickey told me to put my phone away and walk to the back of the bar. Oh whoh, there's a marvelous and close view of the beautiful Yuba river. It's totally a treat to enjoy such gorgeous scenery, especially when there was nobody around. We were also thrilled to learn about a grey wolf traveling 600 miles from Oregon in a local newspaper that Mickey shared with us. There was no internet or phone signal in this town but who needs it when you can have a yummy drink, in the coolest bar in America! There is a clean bathroom with toilet paper and paper towel. We were in a hurry to get to our camping site so we had to leave, and missed trying out the food that my fellow Yelpers raved about. Highly recommend this bar! It's such a happy place with beautiful scenery. I definitely will visit again. So stop by, and explore the magic!

I really like the Olympic Museum at the top and that the Park had so much to offer even in the summer. We did the Shirley Lake Trail and went all the way to high camp, which was so nice and it was nice to see that when you get to the top it's over 8000 feet of elevation. The hike itself was really hard for me because we had a baby, but I would say it's very doable. It's just like a lot of rock climbing towards like the middle to almost end we brought our almost like a gallon of water, and it was just enough, but between me and my husband and the dog it's really nice because there's free parking and when you get to the top of the hike at high camp, you can walk around still and there's things to do like the Olympic Museum and trails there. Also you can geocache we didn't do that though and there is bathroom facilities there places to eat and of course nice views from the top as well as picnic tables. If you brought a lunch, I will definitely be back this hiking and ski resort is like really nice. Also, when you get done with the hike getting up to high Camp, you can take the tram down for free which is really nice and fun. We took the last one of the season on Labor Day and walking around. The village was really nice with all ice cream shop including an ice cream shop and Places To eat.
