From my very…read morefirst conversation with Brette, before I was even able to hire her, she treated me with compassion, patience, and dignity, at a time when I was struggling financially and emotionally. That empathy never faded. Throughout my case, Brette and Kelly have been honest, reliable, and deeply dedicated, but what touches me most is how human they are. They've consistently gone above and beyond and made me feel supported when I really needed it. My case is still ongoing, but I already feel grateful enough to write this. Brette is not only an excellent attorney, she is an exceptional human being, and Kelly has been wonderful as well. I wholeheartedly recommend them and wish their practice continued growth and success."

I needed to have my Marital Settlement Agreement reviewed by an attorney other than the mediator my wife and I were using so I looked up divorce attorney/mediators on YELP and picked Aaron due to the many positive reviews. I contacted Mr. Aaron Lodge on Sept. 10th through leaving a message and following up with his…read moreassistant Mr Steve Wise. I spoke with them regarding obtaining a family law lawyer. I was told that I would need a consultation, so I pay the fee to talk on the phone with Mr Lodge for that consult. Durning this time I filled Mr. Lodge in on what was going on in my marriage from my side of the view. He ask several financial questions before advising me on what I should do moving forward. He explained to me that I need to keep my cool in all hostile situations where my wife would be trying to push me to do something physical that I didn't want to do. During our conversation I spoke about wanting to obtain him as my lawyer so I could move forward with my divorce. The cost to do such, was a $6000 dollar retainer fee that I paid on October 3rd after a major incident happened at my house where my wife left me no choice but to file for divorce. I paid the $6K and then proceeded with helping me file the divorce paperwork. I send the paperwork back to Mr. Lodge who filed the petition. It wasn't accepted so he refilled it back out and signed my name and submitted it again. He reach out later to tell me it was done and how to serve her the proper papers. During my consultation we spoke of my case in great detail, then after the paperwork was filed he pushed me into allowing him to become the mediator in our divorce. I didn't understand why he wanted to do this but thought it wouldn't hurt. I later thought about all the things I disclosed to him during and after our consultation and started to wonder if my Spouse knew he had given me strong advice on how to hold my cool in situations where she is verbally abusive and or blacked out drunk, where she is trying to get a reaction out of me. After we spoke a few times on the phone and he negotiated his way from the attorney I thought I was retaining to the mediator he told me not to tell my spouse of our past conversations where I had disclosed private matters of this case from my point of view. All in all, I don't want to have a mediator and now when I ask for a refund, he doesn't respond to me at all. This is very unprofessional in my opinion. I will not be using him moving forward no matter what. Im trying to get him to refund my money as he has done nothing to earn it and now that he has treated me in such a manner, I don't want to work with him at all. Please advise on how to handle this situation. Thank you.

Jenn did a fantastic job consulting with me on my divorce!…read more She helped validate what I wanted to do was fair and permanently legally binding, gave me the ammo to directly negotiate with my spouse (I did not want either attorney to do direct negotiations - my ex and I knew the parameters that needed to be negotiated and it took quite awhile - but we finally worked it out together). Jenn collaborated with me in a way that I wanted - and gave good advice every step of the process. She was extremely responsive and also very fair with her fees. Finally, she worked with me on a straightforward MSA that my ex and I used to document the agreed upon details to the court. I found Jen through a referral from my tax accountant. But anyone reading this review should know that Jenn is the real deal and will help you with your divorce in a straightforward, honorable, fair way! And now, happily as of last month - it is all over and approved by the court. I Highly Highly recommend Jenn!!

I had a very unpleasant experience working with Jennifer. she is definitely a "take your money and…read morerun" kind of attorney. I paid her $15,000-$20,000 to just... disappear. If you are looking for a lawyer in the Santa Cruz area, I strongly urge you to choose someone else. And if you do go with Jenn, be aware that she either likes you as a client or doesn't. And when she doesn't, she will take your money and run. I have heard that she has done this to multiple other people, as well.

Outstanding Legal Representation: A Review of Angel Hess…read more From our very first interaction, Angel proved to be exceptionally bright and straightforward, cutting through MANY years of prior legal work and getting to the bottom line of where I was in the process. She kept the process streamlined and moving forward which is exactly what I needed.
