I explained that my throttle dashboard light came on, and Charlton said I might need the $70.00 diagnostic test to turn it off and determine the throttle problem. Charlton also asked me about the size of my engine. I scheduled an appointment and canceled it because the throttle light went out. Perhaps it was the below-freezing temperature and my attempt to drive my vehicle without sufficiently warming it up that prompted the throttle light to come on, I will definitely contact C & A when my vehicle does need servicing. I appreciated the messaging that helped me determine what my vehicle needed. What's valuable? The excellent customer service in fielding my throttle concerns is worth noting.

This is my first time using Yelp and was so stressed because my regular mechanic is my friend and he was on vacation when the brakes went out. I felt so much better when I found people who would help me . Special thanks to Charlton at C&A Automotive for making me feel at ease and gave me a great deal . It turned out to be the brake job from hell because of the poor workmanship of the last owner . An hour project turned into a 3 and a half hour nightmare. We now are getting 4 tires and hope to get a good deal on them. :) Update : March 25 2021 Last week our car was in the shop. Took over 700 in repairs. They said if the check engine light came back on again to bring it in. Well Tuesday it did. Guess what another 700 it needs. We have been going to done right since we moved here. Never have I felt taken advantage of. I said to the person I have 4 kids and need some sort of reassurance this 700 will prevent it from crapping out on the Highway. They replied " you are asking me to be able to look in a crystal ball". I don't feel like I am I just would like to know I won't be in next week again. They said the car looks like it's never had a tune up which is weird because I've taken it to them since I bought it in 2019. I'm not sure what they missed or maybe I didn't ask the right questions. But I definitely feel like something is wrong. I told them to do the repairs. Unfortunately since that's the only car that fits all of us we don't have time to get a second opinion. About a month later, the same "service air filter" warning came back on. When I checked it myself, I could clearly see the exact same crack from my original air box -- meaning the part was never actually replaced. In other words, I was charged for a part and installation that never happened. The shop essentially did the same temporary fix I had already been doing myself for the past two years and billed me for it. What makes this even worse is how things were handled afterward. I called around 4pm and was told my original air box was still in the shop from the previous morning. The very next day, when my wife arrived right when they opened, we were told it had already been thrown in the dumpster -- and conveniently, the trash had already been picked up. That explanation doesn't add up at all. This was already my second bad experience with this shop, but this one crossed the line. I can't recommend them to anyone. Based on what I experienced, I would strongly suggest taking your vehicle somewhere else if you want honest work and accountability.

After our last garage closed suddenly, we were in need of a local spot to take our cars for…read moreinspection. I'm not a fan of going to the dealership unless its a recall or specific piece a regular shop can't fix. Always took our cars to local family shops growing up, getting the best deal and service. We'd been here once before a year or so ago to donate some unused coats to a drive they were running and heard they do good work and care about the community. We called ahead and Bill was able to fit us in the following week! (We thought we'd have to wait weeks to get in as other shops were booked out) Dropped our car off for a simple inspection and oil change and waited to hear if it needed anything. Flash forward to 4pm and we gave a call to see what the status was and Bill informed us he was short staffed that day but would guarantee the car would be done by closing. Called us promptly 30 min later and said everything looked great and it was done. Price wise they're better than the dealerships, even told us if we pay by debit or check he waves the charge fee. Bill was transparent on everything he did, even apologizing again for the late call. My oil light was still on when I got the car back but I mentioned it to him before I left and he stopped what he was doing and reset it for me. Happy to say we've found our new local garage and hope to take our cars to them for years to come!
