This is a great experience during the Halloween month of October, unfortunately, there were a few incidents that concerned me and my family. Upon visiting 2 weeks ago, a white car pulled up after us, we ventured into the woods across the bridge, there were other visitors, then we heard what sounded like gun shots and squealing tires, we quickly made our way back to our vehicle and left. We had previously visited every October for the last 4 years and nothing like that had ever happened. We attempted to give it one more chance this last Saturday, October 28th, 2023. There were other vehicles parked upon our first arrival and other people arrived after us to experience the eerie experience Saturday with a Full Moon, my family was followed by 3 kittens starving looking for food, we went up to the closest convenience store to locate some food and take it back to attempt to possibly catch them and get them to a shelter (this did not happen) we got back to the bridge, there were no other vehicles parked, as we approached to park and feed the kitties, a white car came at us from the side left the lights on, kept moving towards our truck, then the driver door opened, we quickly backed up and took off. That was a very uneasy moment for me and my family. We do not know why the car approached us like that but based on previous events. We have now removed this from our Halloween experiences.
Please if the park reads this or the city, we need lights out there on this street and in the area to park, you don't have to extend it over the bridge or anything, but something needs to be done to keep families who visit safe.
If anyone goes out there, please try to reach out to a local shelter or the SA Feral Cat association to help those kittens. I am contacting the local police department (on recent events) and I reached out to some shelters in the area hoping someone with compassion, love and a heart will help those poor kitties who obviously need food. read more
