When you're looking for real Romanian or Moldovan food in Vienna, right at the top of the list is Donaudelta in Sechshaus. I've actually ridden my bike by this restaurant a couple of times and I thought it was time to pay a visit. Inside is def more impressive than outside although they do have a nice Schanigarten. I found the food here good enough but not spectacular.The service was okay but one does get the feeling of being an outsider here and a couple of times I caught people staring at me and maybe thinking 'what is he doing here?' My meal was the Moldovan meat specialty called Tochitura moldoveneasca. It came with mamaliga which is kind of like a Romanian polenta. The portion was really large and I wound up taking some of it home with me to eat later. All in all, I thought Donaudelta was a decent Romanian restaurant but I'm def not becoming a regular! read more
