Just made semi-major purchase, a new-to-me vehicle. Got the title, registration, plates, tags and everything. But...
Can't (uh) seem to (ull!) get the (ugh!) license plates (ahh!) on the car.
This won't do.
No matter how legit the ride is, having no visable back plates is just an invitation to be pulled over.
STG, less that 36 hours making the purchase a City of Chicago Department of Revenue minivan is hovering behind my vehicle ready to write a ticket - in front of my house. If I hadn't been home looking out the front door, Daley's Big Brother State was ready to zap me.
Already I'd gone to a car dealer and another auto shop to try to fix the stripped screw and washer, likely damaged by a machine. It looked impossible.
Over and over, I was advised to have two holes drilled into the auto's body to affix the plate on the back. There had to be a better plan.
The guys at this small shop came out, made the same suggestion and when I balked came up with a Plan B.
Within a few minutes, this team took the ball and scored a major touchdown in my eyes.
License plate on. No newly drilled holes. All for twenty bucks. Can't beat the price or their concern with what this customer needed. Truly appreciated. Thank you. read more
