In the spring of 2007 my dentist in the Fredneck area recommended I have my remaining wisdom teeth removed and recommended Dr. Michael Will, who just so happen to have his office 3 miles from home. Bonus. I made my appointment and went for the consult. I don't remember this consult very much as having teeth pulled was pretty common for me. (Before I had braces I needed 10 [yes, ten] baby teeth pulled.) It was when I was lying in the chair and he finished discussing the teeth removal that my memory really kicks in. At the very end he asks me, "do you often wake up in the middle of the night and you're not breathing?" What?! Yes! How'd he know?? He goes on to tell me he has much more education than just oral surgery and goes into how looking in my nose he can tell I likely sleep poorly. Bingo. Nailed it on the head. Dr. Will could have told me about the procedure he'd like to do to improve my sleep, but he doesn't. That's the easy move and that's not him. To ensure my apnea is mechanical, versus neurological or some other version, he sends me to do a sleep study and and have more tests which take about 2-3 weeks. I don't mind this because one, I've never had surgery; it scares me and two, he's being thorough ensuring that his procedure will correct my problematic sleep. I eventually have the procedure and was thrilled. I remember laying down on the surgical table, then I have a vague memory of goofing off in a wheelchair, then I'm sitting on my neighbors couch and their kids are putting stickers all over my sweatshirt. Zero pain. None, only mild discomfort for about 4 days. On day 4 I go back to his office and Dr. Will proceeds to remove roughly 325 feet of gauze from my nostrils. (I may be exaggerating.) While it didn't hurt, it was certainly a VERY strange sensation having that much packed gauze pulled from your nose like a clown pulls scarfs from his sleeve. It's now 2019 and as he told me back in 2007, I may need the same surgery once again. I'm here leaving a note as I prep for the same surgery far away from Maryland. If I were still in the USA I'd 100% go back to Dr. Will for the work he performed.

I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Bromer and staff...he's a caring physician whose expertise we wholeheartedly trust. After submitting my review I read the previous reviews and am compelled to edit. In our six years of fertility treatments at several different clinics, every single one of them has called me with my results and instructions. This is not unusual whatsoever and I, personally, prefer this human approach so I can ask questions, etc. HOWEVER, for those who prefer technology and a less personal approach, Shady Grove does also utilize a patient portal where you can access your results if your labs are drawn in-house, you can communicate with your care team, you can access your financial documents, treatment plan/calendar, etc. I also have to comment about the waiting room in Frederick. The previous review made me laugh out loud. I'm almost speechless (but obviously not so much) that there are actually people who feel the need to be pampered in a clinical setting. This isn't a cosmetic surgeon or random business trying to woo you with plush couches, Evo water and foot massages. It is a clinical setting and the waiting room is clean, inviting, modern and very appropriate. I was there for one reason, and was more concerned with level of care, treatment options, etc. than trivial things such as the waiting room.

Go figure, insurance is playing games and while the appeal was underway, they charged my card anyways. Something they VERY MUCH KNEW of the events that were underway. Now, they are holding my card hostage and refuse to remove it while we try to figure out this insurance stunt. Update: you people did it again! After being told to stop. I congratulate you on what was supposed to be a glimmer of hope for my wife and I. Instead, you have taken that and turned us into a cash cow that you milk like a parasite. Insurance has been figured out, the bills should have been reprocessed or at least you told us they were. Yet you STILL continue. I warn each and everyone who would like to explore shady grove. THEY ARE SHADY. It is in the name. By the way, I did reach out. You told me you will not remove my card unless I gave you another one. You told me you have no idea when the next charge would be and you would at least give us a message before hand. Guess what we didn't get.

Good system for appointment reminders in place. I appreciated that Mr. Whitman acknowledged that autoimmune skin care can be challenging. He provided good practical information, gave some clear steps for trying to identify care steps, and then answered many questions. This was intended to be an "educational" first step meeting, having come as a follow up with a rheumatologist appointment. This was a very good and informative use of time.
