So far I have yet to feel any of this amazing customer services I keep hearing so much about. I am in my 30s and knew zero about this process. I never buried a parent before. My very first experience meeting with this business, 2 people kept walking in and out the room and talking because apparently the fax machine was in that room. Ok. Understandable. After we got to the bottom of my issues, I left with my little burgundy folder. And a handful of questions. As of right now it's has been a month and I have called at least 3 times with questions. They say "I'm with a family I'll call you shortly " they never do. I have found myself asking relatives about the process or googling my concerns. At this point I feel like I am bothering them, or not as important for a call back. Hopefully no one asked me about this experience. I would be forced to remain silent . We all know, if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything at all.

Planning the funeral of our beloved mother, Lorna Yvonne King, from overseas was not easy -- but your team made every single step feel manageable, respectful, and personal. From all the phone calls you took from abroad, to your willingness to listen, guide, and gently support us, you made us feel like more than clients -- you made us feel like family. To Mr. Donzell Hennigan -- your leadership, compassion, and incredible attention to detail turned a difficult day into something beautiful. You brought calm where there was grief, and excellence where there could have been overwhelm. Your heart made all the difference. To Veronica -- thank you for your warmth, your patience, and the many calls and messages you responded to with kindness. You were a key part of making things run smoothly, and your presence truly mattered. And to every member of your team -- from those we met to those behind the scenes -- thank you for your grace, your coordination, your care with every flower, every arrangement, every movement. The chapel was clean, had sparkling crystal chandeliers (they were very clean), and the stain glass windows were simple but nice. Black piano in the lobby added a very classy touch, and contributed to the nice atmosphere. Seems like there were a lot of friendly employees available to assist quests. Also, it seems like the venue was able to house an other service simultaneously. I'm very impressed with the entire business. There were monitors on the wall that were reflecting some family memories. However, great bonuses were the acoustic in the room and well working microphones so the quest could actually follow the beautiful seremon and the lovely songs performed by the mourning family members. Parking lot was not paved but at least there was enough parking. There were some parking spaces on the street as well.

Henry is a compassionate, gentle, understanding and phenomenal human being. He has a vast experience in the field. He is able to navigate through many obstacles with ease, while still staying composed. Answered all our questions and brought calm. We had an issue with a casket delivery we had initiated on our own. It wasn't going to arrive in time due to snow and bad weather. Henry found a similar casket and had it delivered in time for mom's funeral. His recommendations were spot on and not overpriced. One of them was a police escort from the church to the burial site. Mom had her final journey procession that was made for a Queen! We also had a wonderful heartfelt experience with Nas. He worked closely with us on a program for our mom and was so patient and understanding. The program is beautiful, elegant, represented mom well. I cannot say enough about how Paradise Mortuary turned our profoundly sad experience of loosing our mother into a positive experience of making sure mom's final journey was a wonderful one. She looked peaceful and beautiful as if she was asleep in an elegant silver casket. Henry and Nas always answered our calls personally and took great care of mom and the family, while making sure everything was executed with perfection from beginning to end. Thank you, Henry! Thank you, Nas! You are both angels of God.

We worked up an appetite walking the grounds of the Decatur Cemetery, using one of their printed…read moreguides to find the interesting residents here. We did notice four different errors in the guide, so there's that. The Decatur Cemetery is the oldest known publicly owned burial ground in metro Atlanta, believed to predate the city's 1823 incorporation. Rich and poor, free and slave, and yes, quite a few CSA soldiers laid to rest here. Most of the walkways are easily walkable but some are not. If you're mobility challenged, there is still quite a lot that is accessible. Military veterans, legislators, congressmen, authors and judges. Even one of the delegates to the Secession Convention. This is well worth your time to visit. Please be respectful as this is an active cemetery and there are people here encountering their own personal losses. You can drive your car in and park to the side of the road, considerately. I rode my bike through the paths which was peaceful. It's also a nice place to watch the sun set. There's a few geocaches here if you're into that. Obviously, there's super old historical graves as well. Anyway, if you like Oakland Cemetery, you should check the Decatur Cemetery out.
