On the recommendation of a friend, My mom chose Wages and Sons. After reading some positive reviews, I agreed that they were the one. The facility was decorated ornately Although some might call it cluttered. Either way, it's a funeral home. I couldn't help it when I shuddered. We were doing a memorial elsewhere, So they worked with us on the price. I assume that they do that a lot. But my mom thought it was nice. My brother in law was there for the viewing Since none of us were up to the task. He actually volunteered to do it. It was way more than I would have asked. They were expedient with the cremation. Soon we picked up his ashes. It's hard to believe that he's gone. It's amazing how quickly life flashes. The next day we held a celebration of life At my father's favorite restaurant. It was a beautiful send off. I know it's everything he would want. I have to say thank you to Kent. He was gentle in handling our grief. Having dad well taken care of Provided us all with much relief.

The funeral home is located on Martin Luther King Drive less than a mile from the MLK exit on I-285. There is an ample parking lot to accommodate guests. As you enter the lobby, there are two restrooms that are easily accessible. There are also comfortable sofas and chairs for seating just outside one of the main on-site chapels. The chapel itself is modern, spacious, and offers plenty of seating for guests. The funeral attendants were accommodating, respectful, and never pushy. Their calm, laid-back approach made a difficult day a little easier for our family. They did a beautiful job preparing my loved one. They looked peaceful and were treated with such care and dignity. He came out to talk to my family when we were picking out the service for my father. He was just plain weird. He asked a lot of questions and dragged this out. He got defensive when my sister said something he didn't like. We ordered an urn that was similar to my late brother's and were told it was being sent from another location in the area. He said he would call us the next day so we could see it to make sure we liked it. The call didn't come until days later on the morning of the service, that the urn was not there. We would have had time to go to other funeral homes and purchase one if we had been told earlier. There was plenty of time. We could have ordered one on the internet and gotten it there in time. Greg Meadows offered $100 off like it was a late pizza delivery. They wanted to put an empty urn up there for people to pretend to say goodbye too. I was so mad I had to let my brother-in-law talk to them. A young man named Heath actually understood the situation and made it better. He GAVE us an urn that turned out to be quite nice. In the end everything was okay. Only because of the young man named Heath, who was apologetic and sympathetic. Also Greg Meadow's brother was there on the day of my dad's service and he just stared at us creepily. You've been warned.

On July 12, 2026 we held a service at South care for my mom who had unfortunately passed away…read more Kisha, the manager for our service, was jarringly unpleasant and the only thing that she did well was add stress to an incredibly stressful and sad time for our family. She was completely devoid of tact, frequently making rude comments and for some reason always responding with attitude and a lack of care. Interacting with someone so thoughtless and uncaring was truly a miserable experience that will never be forgotten by our family. Kisha was also responsible for playing a slideshow created by our family for my mother's memorial. Unfortunately we observed first hand that Kisha has the computer savy of someone unfamiliar with technology. Because of this , during the memorial, myself and my brother had to leave our seats and assist her as she struggled to play our video. Starting and displaying it before it was supposed to be shown and also ending the video and moving it off the screen before it was finished. Unbelievable. I take particular offense to this ineptitude because I made the slideshow and people in attendance were not able to view the beginning as she fumbled through simply trying to play it. It's shocking that someone with such an incredible lack of technical ability would be in in charge of it. Everyone else at South care was pleasant and helpful however should you incur the misfortune of having to work with Kisha then I pray for your patience and strength.
