Sorry this review is so long, but I feel that choosing an attorney to represent you is such an important decision that I wanted to put a good amount of info out there from my experience with Donohoe Kearney to help you make that choice. Wow, where do I begin?? I'll start by stating the obvious, Mr. Kearney and his team at Donohoe Kearney are simply the best! My workers comp injury case was somewhat complicated due to me being so naive and "green" when I was first injured. I was very unaware of the lengths insurance companies (and employers) go to in order save a buck, even if it is detrimental to your health (getting injury fixed and healthy) and/or your families needs (like paying mortgage, bills, groceries, kids needs, etc). I learned quickly that Insurance companies could care less about any of that. Luckily, I came across Donohoe Kearney's website and after some consultations, Mr. Kearney fortunately agreed to take on my case. I unfortunately needed a pretty significant neck surgery to have any shot at returning to a somewhat normal life after my work injury, but my employers workers comp insurance company immediately denied it, for really no credible reason. Further, medical treatment I needed like physical therapy, traction and medication...denied. Disability checks that I was fully entitled to...you guessed it, also denied for months. Not long after Mr. Kearney began handling my case, good things finally started happening. Medical treatment, referrals to specialists, much needed back pay, prescription card, surgery, etc. all approved! Everything I could have asked for, was finally approved. There is no doubt in my mind that none of that would have happened without Mr. Kearney and his team. It helps that Mr. Kearney is a well known attorney to insurance companies, opposing attorneys and to judicial/court personnel. You cannot put a price tag on experience and respect. You can tell, for great reasons, everyone genuinely respects Mr. Kearney and the way he represents his clients. The communication Mr. Kearney and his team provide is second to none. Mr. Kearney will thoroughly prepare you for any court proceeding or appointment to ensure you are totally ready for whatever the insurance company or opposing attorney may throw at you. I like that Mr. Kearney is a straight shooter, no sugar coating, no exaggerating, no wishful thinking...just facts. I think he does this so you, as the client, will have a very clear understanding of where your case stands and what to expect as you go through it. That means a lot, trust me. Even when nothing major is pending, I still get calls or emails from Brooke, the Legal Assistant, just checking in with me to see how I am doing, ensuring everything is going ok, etc. In closing, please learn from me...you cannot navigate the many obstacles you face when dealing with a injury case or workers comp case. You are setting yourself up for failure. You must have an attorney to ensure you are represented correctly, and since you need an attorney...do yourself a favor and get the best out there! I highly, highly recommend giving Donohoe Kearney a call. If your case is accepted it will be the best decision you could make to give yourself the best chance of coming out of an unfortunate situation, on top and hopefully healthy. I truly cannot say enough positive things about Mr. Kearney, Brooke and the rest of the crew at Donohoe Kearney. I would like to extend my gratitude to Attorney Frank Kearney and his team for the excellent work performed on my behalf. From day one, when I placed my phone call to his office, I knew I was in good hands. I am a Nurse and I sustained a back injury on the job while assisting a patient. My injury caused me to suffer from extreme pain with lower extremity weakness. I was out from work for months on workers compensation and I had no intention of retaining an attorney because I was not aware that I should probably consult with one. No one tells you these things, especially when you think you will get better and return to work in a short period of time. That was not the case for me. Several months after being out for my injury I was notified by the workers comp office that the insurance medical examiner (IME) that they sent me to for a follow-up evaluation had concluded that I was no longer injured and could return to work. The IME report said I could resume my full-time duties without further treatment or evaluation. The fact is, I clearly expressed to the IME my condition had not improved and I was not ready to return to work at that time. In shock, I wondered how cold and calculating the decision was to send me back to work still injured and in pain. The more I wondered the more I got upset. My employer wanted me to return work per what the IME concluded. I refused to return to work in my condition and they refused to offer me physical therapy and/or any assistance to help me get better to return to work. I knew I needed help fast. They terminated the workers comp benefits and I would not be paid until I returned to work. At this point all of my funding sources were depleted including my retirement and savings. It was time to find an attorney. Attorney Kearney was recommended to me by another attorney in Maryland. Once I contacted his office to schedule a consultation I was sent a book called "Protecting Your Rights". After consulting with his team and reading the book I really got the courage I needed to move forward with my case. I could now see a light at the end of the tunnel! Attorney Kearney informed me during our first meeting that I had a 50 percent chance at winning my case due to the fact so many months had gone by after being injured. Again, I wish I had known to consult with an attorney at the beginning when I was first injured, but it is common not to know until something goes awry. I trusted that he would do all he could to help me and I was comforted in knowing that. As the weeks went by I felt assured we were moving in the right direction with my case. I now had the strength to hold on and maintain a positive outlook because Attorney Kearney and his team always communicated with me and kept me informed on the work they were doing with my case. They never made me feel neglected or alone in the process, and they welcomed my phone calls and constant questions. In the end things did work out for me and my case was decided out of court in my favor. I highly recommend this law firm because they value their clients and provide the utmost respect and integrity in handling your case. They are truly professional, honest, understanding, and helpful to those in need of their assistance. I am now able to focus on getting well and putting my life back together. The best workman's compensation law firm in town.I was very naive and ignorant about hiring a lawyer after injured at work but I was not getting the result and the treatment I deserved after working with the adjuster from my employer's insurer, I was disappointed with the delaying tactics and I got frustrated that I used up all my vacations and PTO to cover my lost of salary so I was referred by a friend and hired Mr. Kearney as my lawyer after injured at work during my shift.
